Hello I want to talk about PVE please.
p.s. the reason for asking is because the pve you guys push out is the most challenging and most fun pve content of any MMO available today. Anyway, enough of the honey talk.

Hi argieatyou.
I just wanted to say “Hi argieatyou”. Fun name. :-)
Oh, and there’s this, but don’t watch it. It’s full of sad :-(

Nooooo, my rekindled hope has just been extinguished! Maybe we can somehow convince Anet to change their minds.
A number of us have been trying relentlessly. You’re welcome to come fight the good fight =D
BTW, there’s cocoa and a kettle on the table in the corner of this subforum, in case you want to take a moment to let the news sink in first. It sucks, but you get used to it.
I still harbor some measure of hope that we’ll get a proper dungeon (with tokens, weapon/armor skins, and slaying potions) related to Mordremoth at some point, but that could also just be a pipedream.
In the meantime it’s obvious that there won’t be any sort of dungoens which ambitious players will enjoy.
On condition that some dungeons even get inplimented ofc.
Should we start a petition or somethin’? I mean I dunno how to get the attention of devs unless there are a whole lot of people shouting or something. Too, if it’s a money thing for Anet, I’m sure the population that wants some more pve content would find a way to make up the difference, somehow, a whole lot of little donations go a long way right? At any rate, if it hasn’t been done already, lets find a way to really let Anet know that their pve is great and we want more of it!… you know or not.
They’re aware of what we want:
It’s just not a priority for them, apparently we’re a minority — not worth putting any sort of significant resources towards.
As far as the suggestion lists Regina asked for, we did make them, but it sounds like they’ve not done much with them:

So…yeah. They know, but they’re not interested.
I’d gladly add my name to a petition, though.

Yep. proper pve end – game content (adding/improving dungeons , some raid type content, challenge missions etc.) is not a priority in this game. The LS 2 content is i guess nice to play once lore wise and do the achis as relaxing casual fun and to get the rewards but nothing more. And you can solo them anyway.
Another thing is that the pvp/wvw side hasn“t made that much improvement either at least not in a way that would satisfy myself.
I think the main problem all in all is that GW2 isnt designed to audience who play hard or semi hardcore. Or even for ppl that play casual say more than 3 nights a week….
I still harbor some measure of hope that we’ll get a proper dungeon (with tokens, weapon/armor skins, and slaying potions) related to Mordremoth at some point, but that could also just be a pipedream.
This would seem to be the logical way to go, but all the indications seem to say that they won’t.
The problem they face is that Aetherpath flopped, and rather than look at why Molten Facility was successful and Aetherpath wasn’t they gave up on dungeons altogether.
Honestly, I think that if they’d taken each of gimmicky sections of Aetherpath and split them over several paths, mixed in a few more standard fights to give an average run time comparable to other dungeons and used the standard token system then it would be at least as frequently run as, say, Caudecus Manor.
I dunno, I thought the Aetherblade path was amazing really, it had an air of a dungeon run through, but some similarity in mechanics to fractals, I can’t imagine why anyone would think it was a flop. At any rate, I’m down for a petition, however the only way I can think of starting one is creating a new post on the dungeon forums here allowing people to post a short response with their name, if anyone else has a better idea I’d love to change mine. It would be better than nothing….. probably. At least the Anet dev team would know what we dungeon runners (after a 6 or so month long pve hiatus, at least) really…REALLY want, and I say this as if they don’t know already. It seems that there’s a set schedule to what Anet is doing to update the game for a while longer, so I think the future is what we should focus on, it leaves a lot of room for false promises and that, but also a place for minds to be swayed towards more delicious pve content. Anyway, what’s the opinion on that wun? I’d like to read them, and have Anet hear us.
p.s. mmmm pve.
The problem why Aetherpath floppend they are afraid of doing other dungeons is as follows:
- no meaningful rewards
- no universal dungeon tokes which we can buy ascended gear (a hard dungeon to get best in slot gear would be an incentive to do ‘challenging’ content what aetherpath is)
- if they do a new dungeon it’s always gimick. Just do an A to B dungeon, no fancy, strange crap with riddles and jumping stuff. Do some interesting boss encounters, that’s what people want.
I did this dungeon once and found it very original. But anet seems really NOT to understand, why people run dungeons after they did it just for doing it once… I sometimes wonder if they want to come out of their Ivory Tower or not.
‘would of been’ —> wrong

A little bit of follow-through on the aetherpath would have made all the difference. Instead, they shoved it out there, watch it flail, and did nada to address the issues with it.
Now because it’s unpopular, they use that to justify not adding more dungeons.
It’s easier to just accept that the game is dead for dungeon lovers, unfortunately.
As for getting ArenaNet to even let us know what sorts of content will continue to be developed, it’s not likely:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Time-to-refocus-and-clarify-GW2-s-goals
I spent weeks trying to get these points across to them, and was met with attempts to change the subject repeatedly. Gaile said we were looking for story spoilers, saying LS episodes should be sufficient endgame, and, my favorite, “We’re not talking to you about the game’s future because we’re busy working on it!”. Finally she said she’d talk to her higher-ups about it, but after the attitude we’ve seen from ArenaNet over the last two years, I’m not holding my breath.
This sort of irked me too, from the mounts thread yesterday:
Official answer? I don’t see the value of that unless we had the post stickied (see above) or if we had a working #%^&#^ search engine.
Since we don’t have a functional search engine, an official post would just slide onto Pg 3 or Pg 4 and we’d see another “Hey, let’s have mounts!” thread.
“There’s no point in answering players’ questions because we can’t provide a functional forum search.” This is the Communication Lead saying that. Meanwhile, my obvious solution of an FAQ sticky that links to answered threads continues to be ignored….Oh well. I’m pretty much done trying. They win.
I’d love for this game to meet its potential, or even come close. But the company seems to just be interested in selling boxes and pumping out openworld zerg maps.
