best statistical loot in the game. We want everyone on an equal power base.”
Pre-launch, Colin listed things that make MMOs bad. They are all now in GW2.
Double post for next page forum bug.
Kudos to this! I am happy I will get to turn in unwanted outfits in addition to tonics. I am grateful to be able to turn in my spare dagger skins. It also looks like it will be raining dyes.
On a separate note;
A legendary refund would be difficult since they are not bought with gems. I think a good thing would be to do a one-time reset of Legendaries to not be soul bound. Then you could sell the spares if the stats don’t mean anything to you.

Awesome news!
Will refunds be issued in the form of gems or direct to our original payment option?
- Like people have said, the stat switching is not the main point of a legendary. For the cost of a legendary you could make dozens of ascended weapons and buy an extra bag slot.
- Even if legendaries don’t get refunded because the stat switching is sooo valuable, people with multiple whisperblades, etc. (does anyone have multiple infinite lights, volcanuses, mjolnirs, immobuluses?!) deserve a refund, because there is zero use for the duplicate now.
I think the fairest refund would be refunding all the components. It’s not ideal—people could have bought the weapons directly, prices have changed, etc.—but I think it’d be the best option. And if not for legendaries, at least for other forge skins! (Disclosure: I have duplicate legendaries but no duplicate basic forge skins.)
So, someone who crafted his legendaries at the very beginning of the game, when it was dirt cheap compared to nowadays, would get components that are 10 times more valuable (maybe more) than what he had to pay? Great idea! [/sarcasm]
do we know if auras and footprints carry over with legendary skins? im wondering if the weapon has to be legendary for the extra aesthetics
do we know if auras and footprints carry over with legendary skins? im wondering if the weapon has to be legendary for the extra aesthetics
Yes they do. Weapons that have a legendary skin applied to them are visually identical to the original legendaries that unlocked the skin in the wardrobe and provide the exact same additional visuals to your character.
Hi, what should I send to customer support if I have 2 pve Krytan boots, full Krytan pvp set and 2 Rox’s quivers (pve and pvp one)? Will screenshots be enough? How much refund will I get for 2x 800gems each and 1 for 600gems? All 2200gems?

then they should add a feature where with legendaries you can choose to have the aura and footsteps be toggle effected, and you can have them effect you when you swap weapons (whilst obviously still having the legendary equipped).
I say somehow give the people with a legendary something to make them feel special again, rather than just refund it in some dificult to decide way.
(perhaps duel weilding actual legendaries grants a slightly more unique aura, etc)

No screenshots needed, they have your purchase history. Since only the duplicates would be refunded you need only list the items that are excess. So if you’ve bought a total of 3 Krytan sets, you would request a refund on 2 of them. Purchased 2 Quivers, request a refund for one of them, etc. Also, Krytan sets have always been 500 gems, not 800 like the skins released to the gem store after launch.
Try something like this:
Greetings.
As mentioned by Michael Henninger (ArenaNet Game Support Lead) in this GW2 forum thread ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Customer-Support-and-the-Feature-Pack/3896529 ) I would like to request the gem refund offered for duplicate gem store skins purchased now that the wardrobe has gone live.I have purchased duplicate sets of each of these gem store items:
- 2 Krytan Medium Armor Sets (500 gems each = 1,000 gems)
- 1 Rox’s Quiver Skin (600 gems)I thank you very much for offering this 1600 gem refund request on duplicate items purchased from the gem store and I look forward to my request being filled. If any more information is required of me I will provide it.
- My Name
That’s basically what I will be sending.
I listed more information and step-by-step instructions to filing a support ticket here if you need a hand or some pointers to filing your refund request.
(edited by StinVec.3621)
Some points to clarify regarding refund requests for items:
Excluding dyes:
All refund requests should be submitted via support tickets starting now. Refunds will be issued in the form of gems to eligible accounts.
Dyes:
If you follow the instructions regarding logging in all characters you will automatically receive your eligible replacement dyes between May 6 and May 12.
You do not need to submit a ticket for dyes.
To submit a ticket click support at the top of this page.
On the following page click submit a ticket in the upper right corner of the page.

Thank you very much, Mr. Henninger. I’m glad we do not need to wait until after we download the patch to submit our tickets. I’ll submit my refund request now. I will edit my posts stating to wait until after patching to reflect your update on that matter.
Have a great day!

Thank you for answer, now it seems pretty clear for me
Will these refunds be in Gems only, or will I be able to get my actual money back?
Will these refunds be in Gems only, or will I be able to get my actual money back?
Gems only….
I believe this is 2 fold: people can buy gems with gold, but also because you bought gems, and not the items directly, they have no obligation to return money. It’s in the ToS. In addition I would caution against asking for money back because it can lead to you never being able to purchase gems again because Anet does not want to spend more money on charge backs.

Is it a problem if i already sent the ticket 1,5 hours ago, and should i repost it, or isn’t that a real problem ?

You say that like it’s a bad thing. They talked me out of ever giving them any money again more than a year ago. At this point, blocking my right to buy gems would be like revoking my license to drive the Lunar Rover. If I have to jump through additional customer service hoops to extract my money from this failure parade, so be it.

More power to you then.
I personally adore supporting the gem store. I’m glad to buy the new stuff they put out weekly.

Don’t repost, it’ll slow the system up. It can take up to 3 days for them to respond anyway and that’ll prob be extended to 5 days. I suspect support are up to speed so they should still deal with your early request.
Can I have a refound for transmutation crystal ?
If I’ve used 4*Pyre, will I be getting 3*Pyre back, for example? Or is it only 1 of the dyes per account?

Thats what i also think .. it just made me a little confused why they don’t postet at first when we should start writing tickets, and then some hours later they say : go now.

Previously we were instructed to wait until the patch was released to submit any refund requests relating to the update. I’m sure it was more like they wanted us to hold off on submitting them until they could actually do something about the refunds instead of having all of the tickets sit in limbo for over a month until they were able to process them. His saying we could start submitting the tickets is likely that support is now well prepared for the mass of refund requests and that it’s ok to send them now instead of waiting until after the patch actually goes live.

Gold was also worth 10x as much when the game started. So that argument doesn’t hold up.
I agree with a few others that unsoul binding all the legendaries for this patch would be great. For all the people that think stat changing is worth the several thousand gold tag, they can keep the 2nd legendary and it becomes account bound again. For those that got them just as a skin, they can basically trade a legendary on the trading post for a different one. A lot of people got doubles before ascended weapons /stat change/best in slot was even announced so those are not a valid argument.
Lastly, let’s say I bought 800 gems and used a few on F&F dye packs. I then converted the leftover gems to gold to help fund my legendary. I’m sure there are others that busted out their credit card and straight up bought a legendary with gems. Do they get a refund? At what point does a gem store exclusive deserve a refund but items partially bought in gems don’t?
“1.Like people have said, the stat switching is not the main point of a legendary. For the cost of a legendary you could make dozens of ascended weapons and buy an extra bag slot.”
I don’t agree with this at all. Opinions will vary but a huge reason for me to make one is the stat switching. Sure you can make 1 of every stat type of ascended and then carry around 5+ weapons of the same type. Maybe some people don’t care about that, but I find that rather annoying. Stat switching is huge.
“2.Even if legendaries don’t get refunded because the stat switching is sooo valuable, people with multiple whisperblades, etc. (does anyone have multiple infinite lights, volcanuses, mjolnirs, immobuluses?!) deserve a refund, because there is zero use for the duplicate now.”
Why do they deserve a refund exactly? They made it when it was necessary to do so and got use out of it. It’s a shame that some players will no longer be the special snowflakes they used to be, that doesn’t entitle them to refunds though.
“I think the fairest refund would be refunding all the components. It’s not ideal—people could have bought the weapons directly, prices have changed, etc.—but I think it’d be the best option. And if not for legendaries, at least for other forge skins! "
Maybe this works and maybe that is fair but it sounds like a huge hassle for them to sort out. Any resolution is going to be a fair ways off I think.
All refund requests should be submitted via support tickets starting now.
I submitted my refund request several hours ago already. I hope that is not a problem :/
I feel the pain for the double legendary weapons and wanting compensation but at what point do you stop doing this? With items crafted in the mystic forge like infinite light and foefire weapons? What about duplicate BL skins that are now worth hundreds of gold?
It is what it is. We’re lucky to even be getting refunds on the gemStore stuff, and the rare dyes is an unexpected surprise. What kind of compensation would even be ‘fair’ for this. You essentially get a couple thousand gold for ‘free’ for having made 2 legendary items that were the same. Myself and many others have duplicates of many zodiac and aetherblade skins; why not get those unBound for free too. The combined total of said skins would be equal to that of a legendary (at least some of the cheaper ones). I’m not saying I demand such a thing, I enjoyed the duplicate skins for the time I used them and have no regrets about it. I also know many people that have duplicate legendary weapons and feel pretty much the same.
No one would turn down a compensation for sure, but I assure you there are plenty of people that are fine living with it and arent storming the forums.
is it only unused skins or also used dublicate skins?
I know it’s a dumb question but… What categories do we use to properly submit a formal refund? There’s a few categories that seem rather vague and could lead to something else entirely and I don’t want to submit a ticket in the wrong place or give Support the wrong idea of a different action wanted.

I used this : https://help.guildwars2.com/home
and then Purchase issue → Refund::Game Upgrade
I think “In game issue → Trading Post/Gem Store” is actually more accurate, but it would be good to get a response on where it is most helpful to submit these requests.
Thanks for clarification.
A question regarding gem store dye replacements:
I purchased two Cinders dye from the Trading Post. This is a gem store dye, but I didn’t buy it with gems. Will I still get a Cinders replacement dye sent to me via in-game mail, or will I only get the usual unidentified dye as my replacement?

The wording in the OP seems to be that it does not matter how you acquired them, that if you have more than one of those listed in the OP unlocked after you log in all of your characters, that you can expect the duplicate(s) to be sent to your in-game mailbox between May 6 and May 12 without need of filing a support ticket to request the replacement.
Good to know, I buy the fire light armor twice for my mesmer and for my elementalist I was worried about.
no dual legendary refunds ? So my dual incinerator didn’t have any refunds , i can’t get back anything ? good job , anet
legendaries are legendary BECAUSE you can change their stats at ANY time for no cost, they are every stat, and now they’ll be account bound instead of soulbound, so you still have 2 weps that work on any character build.
laughed , everyone said legendary can change stat for any time , but do you know what is the main part of legendary ? it’s the skin , i don’t care about change stats for no cost , i only care about the skin , everyone craft the dual legendary is wanna have a beautiful skin , not for the stats , ok ? After patch , everyone can use two incinerator together at the same time ! So anet didn’t want to give back any refunds , fine . i wouldn’t spend any money in gw2 , because anet can let you time/money become nothing after patch when they happy
the main point of a legendary…. IS the stat changing at any time… If you don’t see this, you got a legendary for the wrong reason, lol. It will always retroactively be the highest tier, and ability to change stats, there’s no better item than it, so you never have to get another weapon of that type again.
I have a question regarding the feature pack; what exactly does “The chance of rares and exotics in the mystic forge will be adjusted. This will not affect precursors.” entail?
People like you make me laugh. You do realize that stat-changing with legendaries came nothing more than few months ago? The game has been out for almost 2 years now and you think people made legendaries for stats?
Let me put it this way, get charts of how many ppl made legendaries prior to stat-changes and after them, you’ll see my point. (hint there was no skyrocket boost in legendaries crafted after the update, just a little bit more)
Still don’t understand why you didnt just take it back… i’ve never once complained about not being able to use my town clothes in combat. i dont give one iota about it. but what i do care about is being able to customize my outfit. this is step one of the death of a game…
If you submitted a ticket early you’re fine. If we sent a reply along the lines of “write us back on the 15th” just reply again and it will wake your ticket up (unless it closed and/or you sent feedback). If we did not send that reply you’re all set.
All duplicates of the named dyes will be replaced. So, if you have 4 toons with Blacklight (for example) you will get 3 Blacklight sent to you automatically.
For refunds “In game issue ? Trading Post/Gem Store” is correct. If you put it in another category we’ll get to it and it shouldn’t add much time to your wait. Please do not submit multiple tickets as it will slow us down and you will not get help faster. Duplicate tickets are simply closed.
Thanks, Michael for all the information and for clarifying certain issues.
I have submitted my support ticket, and look forward to hearing from Anet. Thank you also for even offering these refunds – I realise you didn’t have to, and I’m grateful for the gesture. Rest assured, I can’t wait to re-spend any gems I am refunded in the store!
Hey,
Let’s say I got fused daggers via gambling (gold tickets),
Can I ask the refund of 7 tickets?
It’d be fair since I also got them with gems.
Thanks!
Do we need to submit a ticket for a refund of gem skins or will everyone who purchased skins be refunded automatically?
(edited by Chasind.3128)
“Dyes exclusive to Dye Packs from the Gem Store will be replaced in the event they were applied to multiple characters on the same account prior to the Feature Pack on April 15th. "
So if I bought 4 charred dyes on the TP at 130g each from paid-gem-to-gold-conversion I am not getting a refund?
That really sucks.
“Gem refunds”…? So I spent $20 on town clothes that now look horrible and Arena Net graciously allows me to get 1600 “gems” that I can use for… nothing, because the only items I would be interested in no longer work as they should.
Oh well, I guess you live and learn (specifically, you learn which companies’ products to never buy again).

You’ve summed up my thoughts precisely. Funny thing, they’d almost reeled me back in with some of these other changes, before their new system gobbled up all my town clothes and returned a big greasy kitten to my wallet.
I hope the artists and designers who worked hard making all the ruined items find a company that doesn’t just kitten away their work, too.
The town-clothes now turned into tonics which i want to refund since i cannot use them together anymore were purchased with gems bought with real money, will i be able to get a refund on the gems themselves as well?
The product you paid for was the gems. They are refunding your choice to spend the gems on items in the gem store, which I think is reasonable and the bare minimum they could be expected to do. Asking them to refund your cash is a very different animal.
So, how do we actually go about getting a refund?
Also.. my previously unlock PvP skins are gone. They don’t show up in my Wardrobe.. How do I get them back?
Submit a ticket, under In Game Issue → Trading Post/Gem Store.
What about quaggan back packs?
I would like to place an official request for a gem refund for the town clothes you removed from the game. I went and got them converted into endless tonics but as I can’t mix and match items like I used to these tonics are worthless to me and I would never have spent real money to buy them.
Items to be refunded:
Riding Boots
Khaki Shorts
Leather Hoodie
