You honestly believe that it would be impossible without Dulfy?
Within hours after a patch, the new spawn locations of Orichalcum, Ancient wood, Omnomberries, etc etc are spread all over the internet. What makes those needles less hard to find in the said haystack?
Two whole weeks to find 10 clues in 3 maps is surely not over the top. You have never searched for Guild mission bosses or that one elusive point of interest then?
Too much drama, too little sense.
In defense of the material node surveyors: they show up on your mini-map when you are near them, and can hover your cursor over those different gathering nodes to find out what they are even before getting anywhere close to them. There is a lot more to go off of for gathering nodes than there were for the Hunt the Dragons achievements.
The “clues of dragons” aren’t really all that difficult to find, considering they are all in fixed locations, and although tedious and time consuming to find all of them, aren’t all that difficult to find without the use of dulfy.
It would have been nice to have more a scavenger hunt with clues as to where they were located though, rather than “we tossed 10 things out there on this map; have at it.”
Personally, I liked the flame and frost scavenger hunt a lot better. The pieces you found then actually felt like they had some significance relevant to a story of some sort and there weren’t nearly as many of them. The “clues of dragons” on the other hand just feel really, really haphazardly placed.
Also, it doesn’t really help that a significant portion of the player base seem to think that everything should just be handed to them without any effort whatsoever… hollow victories with no real significance (no skill, no effort, no teamwork required; otherwise lets just complain if we actually have to do something).
I’m really indifferent either way though; I sometimes use the dulfy guides, but I also will make things pointlessly difficult for myself from time to time just because I can…
