People already do shenanigans of this sort in TTS runs. Tag Tequatl and run off to the hills behind the south shipwreck and AFK there.

I won’t mention guilds or names but its a pretty common occurrence and there’s mixed responses about how or whether we can report them or not, and if at all under which violation.

Please do something different than enabling world bosses and events on a specific schedule (been playing just fine unguilded since I work a crazy schedule in RL). Joining a guild will probably not help much either. GW2 it’s the only mmo I play just because I can log in at any time and almost always find a world boss or two to kill.
I don’t like tight schedules at all for bosses, in fact I hate this fact of most games. Let us have fun when we play and worry about schedules only in RL. I’m sorry I don’t have a suggestion for a solution. But I’m sure the devs that we support can come up with some king of compromise.

I have absolutely nothing againt TTS. But in fact, it was nothing more than a band-aid for a borked raid encounter.

I am happy they fixed the borked encounter, if it works without a band-aid now, why would I be sad?

Note: I am not in TTS

It started as such for the purpose of the new Tequatl. It accomplished that goal and grew in size dramatically. It is now a large community that is itself being severely disrupted by these changes.

But these changes in no way ‘fix’ the need for map wide organization on Tequatl or wurm. Tequatl will not be beat as much as it is. I was able to beat Tequatl specifically because I saw a friend guested on my server, and bugged him about that. But I still do not have credit for the 3-headed wurm, and I doubt I will, especially with it on such a silly schedule, as well as all the other ‘minor’ bosses.

I will be less inclined to do them now, because EVERYONE will be going to the exact same events at the same time, causing serious headaches trying to get into the same maps as friends. Maps will fill fast for Maw, spreading friends across multiple ones, and getting together becomes a pain. I am sure people would respond to this saying, “Well the same event will be occurring on every map, so all can still do Maw.” to which I have to reply, “Yes but I like playing with friends, even if we are just part of a zerg, because it’s still with people I know and talk to, and not ‘just’ random strangers. Do you always go to the movies or a concert completely alone?” If people I know are much more likely to all end up at other concerts at the same time instead, I wouldn’t bother going very much, if at all.

All that mindless zerging? I already had my fill of it, and semi-quit because that was all I did for quite a while. If I wanted mindless zerging, I’d just always follow the tag in EB (of course now there’s very long queues, but point stands) or Edge of the Mists, or stick to the upcoming schedule of bosses being forced upon us. I’m sorry but it just sounds so boring. I can get more rewards, except karma, faster just going to Frostgorge and doing the champion train there for a more relaxed time. Which is much more likely to become less relaxed as well. It is never fun to have to fight against time to get 1 or 2 hits in before something dies and you lose out on credit, since that was the entire point to being there. I rarely do that because it is so mind-numbing, and when I do, it isn’t for very long. I don’t even want to try to find the maps actually doing the temple events once they are merged.

Now, that’s about all that will be offered to us, zerging on a set schedule artificially forced upon us. I cringe every time I think about this Megaserver, that feels more like it is a Megasevering of my server outside of WvW, the entire reason I stayed on it since Beta. I hope that I am wrong, that my fears and concerns are unfounded… but I hope that they reconsider how they are going about this idea of theirs, because this is a VERY risky gamble to force on us.

As many have said, I want more choice, not less with a limiting timetable. I assume their goal is to make these events appear highly populated at each time, but the result is likely to push many away from even bothering with those.

They didn’t fix the encounter, instead I guess they’ll have the opposite effect if every guild will stop doing Tequal and the wurm because of the stress it will cause to organize everything. We can say godbye to the wurm, maybe only Tequatl will still be killed on some lucky servers since it requires less people.

The wurms have never been killed on my server, and Tequatls sits in his cage for 15 minutes since he was patched.

At least people will get a chance to just spawn in the right instance full with people to actually do the event. Success or failure is secondary. There will be an event, not just a deserted boss fight.

People who want to do the world event will come together without any artificial step, which is the first step into the right direction.

Those who really wanted to do the event could already guest on the servers that organized it, it’s not hard.

Also, unorganized zergs that will try the wurm and fail the first times will just quit for good, so things won’t change.

I have a question tho i am not sure if it was already asked but how will this affect the community of the rp servers? this seems to me as a large issue since there may be some rp servers that lean towards the hardcore and if all worlds eventually coexist with each other basically paring you with like minded people then there will be instances that you are not with people that want to rp and thus hurting that community.

I see a lot of people suggesting TTS ask other guilds to open the encounters for us and that is something we were thinking about but there is a problem with that when combined with the megaserver. How do we make sure that both TTS members and members from our donor guild get on the same map? The way I see it there could be issues with just getting people from our 12 individual guilds into the same map let alone bringing in a 3rd guild not connected to us directly. Also when we do these events we generally have at least one overflow as well so we would need 2 of these events popped just for us and then cuz we will have more people we will need a 3rd due to having other people with us. I would note this is when we are not busy. Sometimes we have popped like 3 overflows and the main. We already have people complaining about being left out, well this stuff will end with us leaving more people out and less and less people will get to enjoy the content.

All in all this is a bandaid patch to the bigger problem. If they remove th need for merits this would all be fixed. Then the only issue is getting our members together and to that end we can reorganize to make sure people who want to do the kill at certian times get in the same guild.

I can see that, however, in my specific play time window I can do almost every WB. (2015-2330ish). Guesting is still an option, why not guest to an Eastern (or Pacific) server to get the events, and maybe a EU server if needed? It shouldn’t matter which one as they will all be linked via Megaserver, and you’ll not go over your guesting limit. Just an idea. There are still options for being able to do those events.

Yes I was refering mostly to the mega events, but the point I believe is the same. There is no reason you’ll not be able to do ALL of the WB on any given play schedule.

Guesting is not an option – ALL the servers/maps will be launching the same boss at the same time. If it’s Shadow Behemoth’s turn, Shadow Behemoth will be the only world boss launching – time zone and NA/EU have no effect on it.

If, for example, you can only play between 8:15 PM and 10:15PM PST – you will never see Claw, Golem or Ulgoth. No matter where you guest to (if guesting is even still possible), you will never be able to fight these bosses.

If I want to go see a Broadway show, but can only go between the hours of 3 am, and 4 am… chances are I will never see a Broadway show. it is a bit much for me to expect a broadway theater to put on a show to my convenience.

If you cannot fight specific world bosses because you are only able to be on 2 Hours a day, sounds Like a personal problem.

Only someone that feels " entitled" would try to argue…" the new system is not convenient to MY schedule."

It’s not an issue of “entitlement”. I used my play schedule as an example of MANY players in the same situation. It’s an issue of no longer being able to access content because it’s impossible for us to play during prime time hours. The whole point of this system is to make it easier for people to access that content, but this schedule alienates perhaps thousands of players, which goes against the whole point of the patch. It’s like them telling us, because we cannot log in at a certain time, and play according to their schedule, its our fault. “Sorry you lose, try to rearrange your life so you can be online when we expect you to.”

It’s like buying a movie, but you can only watch it between the hours of 10am and 1pm. If you can’t do that, you can’t watch the movie, but instead you can only watch the trailer and previews for other movies.

We are not speaking out from a sense of entitlement, but rather a sense that we spent the money to play (both buying the game and gems) and are getting cheated. We didn’t spend the money only to be able to play certain content. We were told that upon buying the game we would have access to ALL the content of the game, not just certain parts of it. And this schedule change severely limits that.

All told, it feels to me like this is a step even further away from the initial promotion of the game where it was said that players could play the game as they wanted to and have rewarding experiences regardless of their choice. In the auto “server” assignment system, it seems like you’re going to essentially have to choose the type of play style you want in advance and then stack your deck in hopes of being able to play that way. Want to RP? Cool, just be forced into an RP guild and stack your friends list with known RPers even if they aren’t your friends! Want to do organized group content? Cool, just be forced into joining a specific guild and be around at the exact time that group is doing their content otherwise be loaded into a totally random group of players who may have no idea what they’re doing because they’ve never played together before! Want to do regular open world events? Cool, but better hope that the new system doesn’t put you into a super heavily populated server where you’re forced into being a faceless zerg member and your system performance tanks! Etc.

These are WORLD BOSSES not guild bosses. In my opinion, no one should have ever created guilds just to do them. And, I think that is the complaint in a nutshell, the Dev’s removed a big reason for such guilds. Though they also have removed the need for LFG websites. And now, going to remove the need for timer websites and node websites. So don’t feel bad about it as a lot of our “work-around’s” are getting removed.

I’m more ticked off about the ever changing resource nodes. I normally don’t use resource node websites like Colin Johanson said he does. I simply remember where they are and go back to them. Which now won’t be possible unless I perma park an a character on a particular zone to keep it open indefinitely.

Luckily, accounts are on sale right now

What they are saying is, the new ‘overflows’ will run the events as well.
But this doesn’t really ‘fix’ the issue at all, and causing many to not even have the chance to get in a map to do it for a lot of players because they are going to be left out due to it being scheduled around specific times

A five hour window in between boss rotation rounds is super inconvenient.

Doing mega boss fights involves a LOT of standing around and waiting already, but at least right now, after fighting Tequatl or the Wurm, you can head right on to the Karka Queen without having to wait another 40 minutes. :\

So the champion train suffers? and this is a bad thing how?

I think you are confused on what champion trains are. It is people killing 5 or 6 champions on one map repeatedly looping.

megaserver has little to no effect on champion training. In fact, it will probably be easier to champ train, as the system will probably make sure every train map is mid level, but not super full, which is the optimum champ train population

Maybe you mean world event boss train, but that wasnt really OP, you can only get the good rewards once per day per account anyhow. So basically it will nerf people fighting a bunch of different bosses every day at random times, and promote them doing it every 15 minutes on the dot, with the same exact bosses for every time frame.

One thing I do wonder about is, will I ever be able to do events like the shaman at the Frozen Maw with just a tiny handful of people (fun!), which sometimes happens when I’m playing at off-peak hours? Or will every run of such events always have a huge zerg going on in the future, because I’ll be in the same instance as everyone all over the continent that’s still online at those ungodly hours, instead of just the guys on my server? Although I Like the set times on events very much, I am going t miss playing on my home world. I like my home world. I’ve lived there a while now and was thinking of buying a home and putting down roots as my apartment is getting crowded and I might need a pool.

I enjoyed the Marionette very much, you can keep Tequatl and the Wurms as they too boring. Once through that content was enough. However you had a hard time stopping me doing the Marionette. I really enjoyed the schedule. But after every battle someone or other was always yelling out to ask how we did on Home Server! We cared. I think this is going to make a sense of loyalty to a home server redundant. And It’s going to make it harder for the WvW to recruit or get help in LA. No point of going to LA and asking everyone to come help if your bad guys hear you.

Because nothing has been fixed. The encounter will still be as broken as before.
The event simply isn’t puggable – and the new megaserver, from the description, will make any organized approach harder than they are now.
My server, for example, definitely has the numbers to do the event. It rarely happens, because people are simply not interested in the event they are going to fail anyway.

These are WORLD BOSSES not guild bosses. In my opinion, no one should have ever created guilds just to do them.

I agree, noone should ever felt the need to create guilds just to do those bosses. Unfortunately, the change is not going to remove that need at all – numbers are a necessary prerequisite for Teq and Three-headed Wurm, but by no means the only one. Organization is equally important – and with more randomized zone population that organization will become harder. Basically, i have never seen a “naturally occuring” overflow – even fully populated one – that managed to kill Teq (much less the Wurm).

Also, it seems that the “overflow trigger” will be a “comfortably” filled zone, not a full one, so it’s quite possible that numbers of people showing up for those events actually will go down. Combined with much less potential attempts daily, it may mean even less succesful kills than there are now.

Actions, not words.

I just mapped the world again – as i stated earlier. If you’re a newbie wanting to map, or a level 80 who’s mapping theres a few things you need to be aware of with the megaserver.
Lets say normally the map (say kessex) is just 3 people. Great, the centaurs are all there, the camps need clearing, doing hearts is easy as pie. Kill a centaur – heart begins to fill.
Now, i’m on TC and the camps had all been done, leaving a few scattered centaurs as the only way to fill the heart.
Now add a megaserver where theres 20 other people all killing the centaurs that are now a very rare spawn.
1) you better be doing enough damage to tag one before it drops. (low level char? denied!)
2) you’d better be kitten fast getting TO the centaur to tag it in the first place. (low level thief or non-haste ability? Denied!)
I had 3 other people farming the centaurs and even as a level 80 this was a kitten long heart to fill.
Now think of every heart that requires kills – grawl/skritt/risen – same situation. Guesting to quieter zones where events aren’t done is EXTREMELY handy while mapping. Now with the megaserver rollout those events will be basically perma-done. You’ll have to sit there and wait an hour for the event to reset.
Having a large chunk of people on every map is not actually a good thing, new players will be frustrated even in the very first queensdale event – kick a wurm mound – gets one-shotted by an 80 before you can touch it.
Huge frustration.
Also – revives for the heart, underwater kills for daily. Anything that requires kills in an area that suddenly has a load of extra people there for the same thing.

Of all the things that has been thrown at them, THIS is the challenge that TTS can’t meet? Doing something built for a normal guild?

No disrespect guys, but… that’s actually funny. Anyway, I’m sure you’ll find a way around the problem.

Not one of the TTS guilds has research done. They operate on the policy of if the whole guild is not going to benefit, it is better to not have it. That means each of the 12 guilds is going to have to pick a server that the majority of it’s members are on, or shift players around to a guild that’s a majority of their players on a single server, and do the research. Here’s the stickler, it’s going to take 760g for each guild to buy influence for the prereq research. Midway, they’re going to be forced into missions to build up influence which will cost a few more golds worth of influence. Then the research is going to take an estimated 2 months. And that’s not even covering what the cost for the world boss research is going to be.

What.

That’s… wow. Okay, suddenly not funny, even to me. I had no idea it would take that much to get to that point. I mean, sweet zombie Jesus, that’s just nuts! Worse, if you DO go through the cost and effort, later they plan to merge all the cross-server stuff on guilds, right? So, a lot of the expense and effort may be wasted at that point?

I’m sure ANet will be just as flexible on this as they have been on the town clothes issue for us RPers. Why? Because none of these changes are really for us, they’re for the China market and potential new players. The Megaserver isn’t really all about making zones feel full for us, it’s about minimizing the amount of server power needed to deal with the larger groups of players they’re hoping to get in China. Heck, if the game does really well in China, they’ll be a success even if every person playing today quits and never returns.

For what it’s worth, I wish you guys luck.

Maw is scheduled for every two hours. Right now it’s every 1 to 2 hours. 1 hour until the window and then starting anytime within the 1 hour window. So not all that different. I rarely seen Maw go off early in the window. I have seen it go off with only 1 minute left to the window but usually it’s less than 15 minutes left.

If the latter, I might as well quit the game. I can’t stand zerg play.

Sometimes people arent actively going for the meta bosses. Even TTS only does meta bosses after their raids as they’ve got enough numbers to be able to do ALL the meta bosses available at that moment, sweep through one or all of the temples, and hit the bosses that become available during that time.

Honestly, they should do a fixed timer for the events so that the megaserver construct doesnt fall apart, but by no means should they do these events in the schedule they dictated.

So the champion train suffers? and this is a bad thing how?

Yes yes, you hate champ trains. No one should have anything in game but you. Uh huh, we’ve read it already. You obviously don’t seem to realize the champ trains are run by players equal to you. They deserve a place to play as they want.

Yep. This is why TTS personally is so adamant about this “Schedule” getting some changes. Another post of mine in this thread details what the possible cost of even maintaining the current run count TTS has would be. It basically comes out to 6k merits and 6k gold per month, assuming a 25 merit/25k influence cost for the consumable. Since each guild can only accumulate 110 influence max per week, they cant even meet the 509 merits per month required. It’s also rather unreasonable to request that each member donate an average of 1 gold a month in order to maintain that upkeep.
TTS would be forced to drop over 9k gold to pay for the research, and then 6100 gold per month to maintain the amount of runs we run now. It’s pretty revolting to think that Anet’s thinking such costs are reasonable for ANY community wanting to run teq outside of the “prime time” BS.

It would be cool if they periodically rotated the boss schedule. Example, for one week FIre Elemental spawns at 8pm and the next week Shadow Behemoth spawns at 8pm instead.

As a member of TTS and of another large (250 people) guild. I think This idea isn’t a good one – this Megaserver idea seems to be a backhanded way of effectively merging low population servers without admitting the need to do so.
Since stating the game I have changed servers 3 times – I started on Anvil Rock – which lost population and the guild I was in effectivly died. I moved to Borlis Pass, and then but the guild I joined decided to become a WvW /PvP only guild. So I was left yet again on a low population server. I then moved to Dragonbrand and joined my present guild. Then I joined TTS because I wanted the wurm and Teq achievements, which I got fairly quickly.

I enjoy being in TTS because it gives me the chance to help other players get those achievements, and the kills of megabosses like Teq.

It looks to me like they would be better doing a server merge, or if that isn’t an option, then change the guild system to allow guilds to Offically ally with each other. This would allow someone to be a TTS member and a member of Guild X to help their own guild/TTS and /or people on low pop servers.

TTS provides a service to players, I’ve lost count of the times I’ve heard “Thank yous” from players whose servers we’ve guested on.

As someone who also plays in “off peak” hours this will also spoil my chance at megaboss runs, as it will for msot of the OCE and NA community that don’t have 9-5 jobs.

I don’t see the megaboss events as being broken at the moment per se – so why try and fix them?

The idea of allowing guilds to ally with each other is I think a good one.

All I ask of ANET and other players is to think of those who don’t or can’t game during “normal” NA hours and to not spoil this part of the game for them.

Thank you for reading.

In my opinion, it’s going to be mixed. The large cities will be packed with people, but is that really a good thing? There isn’t a need for trade between players directly as in Guild Wars 1 and all those additional meshes and skins are going to cause longer load times and lag as you roam the cityscapes. The unfortunate thing is unlike Guild Wars 1 you can’t simply choose to go to an empty district, you’ll be forced to stay in that laggy environment until you decide to leave the city zone altogether.

Individual zones out in the world will see an increase in players once all the individual server instances get trimmed off, but will we really see a big increase in playerbase in these zones? It Depends. On zones where a large-scale boss battle is taking place you’ll likely be fighting along side plenty of people, but on maps like Mount Maelstrom the size increase in the amount of players you’ll be likely to run into will be largely unnoticeable.

In Spvp, with the Heart of the Mists getting the megaserver treatment there will theoretically be more success in getting a team together for tourny’s.

I do think the megaserver is an improvement in general, but I can see a lot of people on these forums are ready to believe this is the saving grace for the game, which it isn’t. Those of us who played guild wars 1 and remember how empty all the towns and outposts were, even before expansions will attest that this will only make minor changes in unimportant zones. Anet will need to make some necessary adjustments and some quality of life changes to the unpopular maps in order to really spread out the community and keep the world feeling alive. Anets decision to make the bosses on a schedule goes against the philosophy of a living, breathing world in exchange for efficient boss farming., which I’d be okay with only in the short term. If you make the fights too frequent and simple to walk into you also take away the luster of doing the special events.

As new content (in the form of expansion’s or whatever) is to be released it will only decrease the already existing zones populations. I would like to see them place living story on the back burner and focus on making each zone more of a replayable experience. I’ve leveled eight characters to 80, and I never finished a zone without seeing the same events pop over and over again, the lack of variety in events is why I opted to speed level most of my characters through crafting. Each zone should have it’s own big boss with events centered around it. Event chains should no longer lead into one another, creating a constant loop of experience/item grinding, if there were enough interesting events added to each zone players wouldn’t feel the need to run on that hamster wheel. One of the biggest challenges for MMO’s is futureproofing their content, keeping older maps in players mind’s is hard to accomplish, and they only way you can really entice them is to shake some new content on top in order to keep it fresh.

It’s completely obvious that many (most?) people have limited and set playtimes and thus by the new schedule they would always see some bosses and never others.

It’s really surprising that Anet didn’t seem to realize this — it shows how little thinking and effort they put into this implementation. Or maybe they knew, but just don’t care?

You shouldn’t just be silent on this issue like you have been on so many others. Anet said that “Some of the bosses on the schedule above have had their difficulty scaling, event chains surrounding them, and even some of their abilities updated to help prepare them for their new appearance in the rotation”. Which likely means gutting preevents and/or unlinking end fights from them.

Bonjour,

  • Questions that arise everybody:
  1. - What happens to pre-event ?
  2. - How to meet the “Maps” as and when the players arrived on a Boss, the latter does not risk being “empty” ?
  3. - How to organize a Tequatl Events as eg about Lead ?
  4. - Why not let the Events as before?
  5. - Have you planned dissemination of information on the launch of an Event by Guild and on all cards at once ?
  6. - Have you provided for the creation of Events Guild at the research group for example?
  7. - Have set up a sort of " Cohort , Legion , etc. . " So that small Guilds can gather?
  8. - Events Why do not they may overlap ?
  9. - Chests will they revised upwards since the number of players that will be on every Boss ?
  10. - If a Guild launches Tequatl on a “map” is what another guild can run the same Tequatl another “card”.

Do not like.

This is based on current information, of course, and as some have mentioned there is a chance, if the changes are still implemented despite objections, that it ends up being OK. But there were a LOT of good points mentioned in this thread. I’m not going to rehash them all, but the thing that really, really has me concerned is that I think this will greatly reduce the living feel of the world:

- I like that there are quiet times on my server. It makes things more realistic to me that there is not always a steady flurry of activity in every area. It feels peaceful and real to me. I use that time to test new builds against content that’s difficult to beat with one or two players. I don’t want to be in a heavily populated map all the time. If there are a few servers where it is ALWAYS dead, just merge them already.
- The way point thing is just silly. It jars you out of the realism for the game as you will always be aware that you are looking at a MAP, not that you are in a world.
- I would like to see dynamic events have more impact in my world, not less. If I participate in an event, and it fails, I don’t want to pop over to a city, grab something from my bank, and then pop back to a different map where it doesn’t look like the event failed. From what I can tell, that definitely could happen here, unless I am interpreting something incorrectly.
- Honestly I didn’t love the “every other hour” stuff from the last few Living Story updates. It felt too regimented to me. I play Saturday and Sunday mornings and it used to be that I could stumble upon different events, or seek them out if I used the timers. To say, “OK I can do this again at 11 AM” just felt off to me. I’m not happy that we are getting more of that. Takes a little mystery out of the game. Waiting around for events, dancing and doing costume brawls, was part of the fun. I thought the point of the world bosses, the randomness, etc., was to make them feel epic. I’ve been playing with Beta and I haven’t killed a large amount of the world bosses. To me that’s OK.

Also, I remember in Beta how annoying it was when my friend and I couldn’t see each other until the overflow system was changed so we’d go to the same one. It seems like this will increase the amount of times I will have to right-click to join my friend in a map, especially during peak times right after patches, and that will drive me crazy. It hasn’t been an issue for me lately – either my group is in the map main, or my group ends up in overflow and we each remove ourselves from the queue. Simple.

I’ll admit it – I’m a casual player. I’m an old-school MMO player who still has the skills for most tricky encounters but my play time is limited. I don’t have a Legendary. I loved almost every Living Story update and I enjoyed playing through the regular content that was added. Check out my post history. There aren’t many. I don’t sit on the forums and complain. Overall I have truly enjoyed GW2 and have had a blast leveling my characters. But a LOT of things in the April 15th patch seem to be changing what I know and love about GW2 unnecessarily. The idea of the Megaserver System does not feel right to me. I don’t want to end up on a random map when I go somewhere. I want to be in my world, Sea of Sorrows. When it’s quiet I want it to be quiet and during peak times it should look busy. If I switch from my main to an alt, the map should look the same to my alt as my main (event statuses, waypoint statuses, etc) unless a significant amount of time has passed. Instead this sounds like I’m going to be logging into a place that feels like a randomly generated map as if I am playing some type of co-op game.

Apologies for the negativity. I feel bad because I know a lot of work has likely gone into the update, and I appreciate that. Some of the changes, like the wardrobe system, seem really great. This just doesn’t seem like a good direction to me.

Etc.

Totally aggre these two posts.
The better solution is let players choose using megaserver map or homeserver map.
Taken away the choice how ppl play the game is not a good idea.
Not everyone like mindless zerg.
Schedule boss will make world boss event much more boring and less motivate to do it again.

You know I feel one random fact got left out of the discussion.

What the heck is karka queen doing being grouped up with Teq and Wurm in the schedule?

Is she getting buffed next patch to a Teq level of difficultly because she isn’t that difficulty unless your short on numbers like say 25 total people.

As it currently is, maps have different day/night. One map, say Gendarran, is middle of the day, and you go into Lornars.. suddenly it’s the middle of the night (typically, it isn’t this extreme since 2/3rds of a cycle is daytime). I ‘assume’ this is what they are referring to? Although I did not pay attention to that comment at all.

Previously I have little problem soloing a few world bosses and/or 2/3-manning the others, regardless of whether I’m in power or condition specs.

This change in collapsing all the servers together will reduce the total number of actual instance fragments, concentrating players. While that’s normally a good thing, condition users will now approach uselessness in world bosses because their conditions will be overridden by the weak condition damage spam of a zerg.

In solo-3 man mode, this isn’t a problem. In zerg mode, it is a huge problem.

Is it not contradictory to nerf direct damage via the ferocity change while simultaneously dropping so many people together that the condition damage 25-limit becomes intolerable?

Or does this save enough server operation resources that with this change we can also expect to see the limit increase to 50 or 100 stacks?

Otherwise, the solution proposed by several other posters previously to halve all condition stack procs by players while doubling the condition damage conversion for all of them will become necessary to avoid condition damage from being even more useless than they already kind of are.

And given how the most viable damage specs in terms of overall damage per second are condition damage specs for both Necros (the no-cleave class) and Rangers (with such poor multipliers on their power stats), these already-underpopulated classes look poised to take another major hit on effectiveness.

Guild Wars 2 is a game that is predicated on cooperative gameplay in PvE what with non-diminishing loot, dynamic scaling, non-competitive resource nodes and more. The condition stack limit is a very big wall that stands in this as one of the most prominent ways in which cooperation leads to problems. Everything that is normally good will be better with population increases, but this thorn in the side will simply grow to become a blade one may no longer ignore.
