Hi,

World Boss schedule will affect all world bosses at once even though the megaserver will only affect low level zones at first.

Explanation please.

It means, that even though initial megaserver deployment will not cover any of the world boss areas, the schedule will be implemented immediately, for all the bosses mentioned.

And here i hoped the announced changes to megaserver deployment meant they were rethinking it after the feedback they have received.

So much for the CDI impact, by the way.

The Megaserver in istelf sounds like a good idea to me. I’m from a very, very small server (Arborstone), and sometimes it feels really empty.
However, the world boss changes…. Well, to put it short: no more Tequatl, Karka queen and Wurm for me. I am never home before 8 pm, which means I’ll miss every event of the day. And since I’m not a member of a large guild, I can simply say goodbye to any “guild-started Tequatl” or similar. I am extremely disappointed in this. Why discriminate such a large part of your player base? Why prevent them from doing content? It’s not like there’s much to do once you’re 80. After removing a path from Twilight arbor, now you’re removing the possibility to do these events by limiting them to a certain class of players. Your feature pack is amazing, but this change is utterly disappointing to me.

There is many problems with strict schedule so may I suggest something?

Can we have 3 ways to start an event?
1) New schedule…
2) Let call it Guild starts (requiring merits/influence) – just the boss event
3) NPC which can be “persuaded” to start a chain leading to an event. It will also allow for the pre-events chains which are sometimes more fun than real meeting with boss (Maw I’m pointing at you).
Here you can add the restriction that the event can be started to not interrupt scheduled job.

This way, if there is enough people on any instance, the chain can be started. So if you have group of 5 friends which are on the same event you can start any chain leading to boss.

Is that doable?

I’m currently part of a GW2 EU community with members from several guilds and servers. We currently organise large boss fights, mainly the three headed jungle wurm and tequatl, on a daily basis. My main issue with this is the order of the spawn. If we are only going to have one reasonable chance a day to fight these bosses, until a guild in our community can unlock the upgrade, then I feel we should be given a reasonable attempt.

Out of the 3 hardcore bosses the three headed jungle wurm needs the most organisation while karka queen needs the least. With this in mind it would then make sense to spawn the three headed jungle wurm first, with tequatl at the next hour and then karka queen the following hour. This allows for a reasonable set up time for all three bosses. With the three-headed jungle wurm currently spawning last it will be impossible to kill it unless we completely disregard tequatl, again until we can spawn using the upgrade.

I feel the easiest way to combat this is to switch the spawn of these three around to the most sensible order for time allowed to set up. Another option could be to disregard the timers at the april 15th patch and instead implement the new upgrade to be researched but not used. This would give large guilds and communities like ours the chance to prepare for the upcoming event timers instead of leaving us with no option but to miss one of these daily.

Its going to be awesome in lvl 1-15 zones with the megaserver. Right now on TC wolfmaster evaporates in about 20 – 30 secs of spawn.
Don’t type to report he’s popped, just tag it fast.
edit: And heres the maw!

Gandara started to look a lot like that as well since we got loads of free transfers. In some events it’s so difficult to tag any mobs and has really impacted my enjoyment of them. With all the particle effects, it’s become so difficult to see the bosses and with so many people there’s not even a chance for any sort of difficulty, say on the Dwayna events. There’s been so many anti-zerg comments over the course of the living story, yet shoving us all together is what ANet keeps doing all the time. It’s confusing and disappointing.

OK so new map instances will be generated as required.

Has anything been said about the average amount of players on one map? Personally I enjoy events more when there is not a massive zerg.

And here we are. Almost a week after the announcement and 20 pages later, we’ve had one weak response from a developer regarding our concerns.

I won’t go the “I’m quitting, you can have my stuff” route, but I’m definitely going to be spending more of my time (and money) elsewhere for a while. I’ve always supported Anet and their business model, but if the sad marketing machine that they’ve become can’t address 20 pages of players concerns in a direct and forward manner, I don’t feel the need to spend any more money with them. Quid pro quo.

I’m right there with you. I like quite a lot of the changes coming with the feature pack and was quite excited with the PvP changes, wardrobe and so on but the limitations and restrictions being introduced alongside the megaserver concept (the event scheduling and lack of any visibility into temple statuses and so on) has soured the whole patch for me.

It’s pretty obvious that nothing we ever could say would have stopped this but the usual ArenaNet “ignore them until they stop talking” tactic doesn’t endear me to them.

I’m really not sure what they could say here. They’ve pretty much stated that the schedule thing is subject to change and i’m assuming the TBD item on the list is prolly slotted for Mordy. I’m with everyone basically opposed to the change, in at least the schedule.

Anet will not respond to negative criticism, constructive or not, in any way. The most they will do is clarify if something we were saying is based on wrong information, but other than that if we don’t like it they say nothing.

It’s all we can hope for that they heard us and either revise or delay the implementation of the boss schedule. Best scenario would be to put it on indefinite hold until they have enough input from both the newbies and the veterans on what they want. Then and only then would they be able to figure out a plan that works for everyone.

This is not random QQ about some random feature here, there are very real problems with the proposed schedule that would cause serious damage to the game’s longevity for casual players if it were to go forth as-is. I know for certain my play time would be impacted badly, as most of my PvE is now spent with TTS on megabosses. By limiting me to once per day (and those hours are incompatible with my schedule anyway) you are removing a lot of reason for me to continue playing this game, and I probably won’t continue playing at all if it comes down to that.

I really like the idea of world boss schedules. I don’t do world bosses because I don’t bother with the event timer website. As, even if an event is open, and I want to do it at said time, there may not be enough people at that event.

The other day, I ran into Tequatl and there was no one there. I would have liked to have fired the mega-laser at him and taken him on with a group, but with no one there, I couldn’t get a chance to do that.

The mega-server + consistently timed events should solve that problem.

However, there is one major problem I see: At the current times on the schedule…. not one of the times that Tequatl will open will I likely be in-game. At one point, it’s too early (either I’m asleep or eating breakfast), the other is during lunch, and the other is normally when I’m going to bed. The Great Jungle Worm and the Karka Queen are both worse and better.

Suggestion: Rotate these specific times during the week. On the weekend, those times are OK, but on the week, not so much (at least for me). So… why not say on Monday, adjust the time slots about an hour or two back or forward, then on Tuesday, adjust the times from Monday by an hour or two and release a schedule for a full week (with different times for the bosses each day of the week). Or at least rotate the order that they spawn. So maybe on Monday have Tequatl go first, on Tuesday have the Great Jungle Worm go first, etc. Either way, I think that people will at least be able to do the events once per weekday. I’d much prefer the first as my “primetime” is 6-9 PM, not 9-11 EST and I wouldn’t want you to change the times to those just to fit my schedule, but with the first, perhaps one day a week, my “primetime” would match up.

I am a bit confused how everyone is arguing that as -casual- players, you won’t be able to catch the -hardcore- bosses. Er.. What?

You aren’t casual if you’re trying to catch such content. Its was implemented for the sole reason of appeasing hardcore players who wanted that content.

In addition: Though there is the workaround of the Guild Event, my guild is too small to be able to unlock that in the near future. It’d probably take us awhile to do so. At least months, years, if it has to be unlocked after Guild Puzzles (please please don’t do that!).

Both systems have disadvantages. However, I think a lot more people will miss out on the events with this new system than the old one due to the strict time schedule. Why not just solve the population problem with mega-servers and leave the bosses scheduled as is (EDIT: until such a point where either a good schedule (or schedules) can be found or something can be implemented such that people know, across maps, in-game, where these events are going on or there is a nice mixture of both spontaneous and scheduled events)? It’s still not ideal, I think I might prefer scheduled events, but there need to be options for spontaneous events.

I’m ecstatic about the other features in the pack. But the mega server stuff? Really really cautious about. Can be good…. but I think it might take awhile to get it right where everyone’s happy :/

I don’t reqaly understand the casual crowd that thinks the new shedule is an improvement for things like Tequatl and Wurm. There is a fixed shedule right now. Both bosses spawn every 2h. The real issue at the moment is a lack of organization on some servers and during certain times. The new shedule doesn’t realy change that. The amount of communities organising kills won’t increase and because of increased difficulties to pick the “right” server it gets even harder to find an organised kill. What players will get is nothing else than a set of overflows and while success on overflow is possible it is not very likely.

For me this change will be an extreme negative one:
- The community of my server(+guesting players) is organising 5 Tequatl kills per day. The change will reduce this to 2. Guilds being able to trigger a spawn might increase that number but the costs of merits still makess that a bad change.
- We have an avarage of at least 10 disconnects per Tequatl fight(starting once we hit enough players on the map to create an overflow). Currently they can wait another 2h and try again. With the change most people will have a single shot at a boss per day. Disconnects will be absolutely fatal.
- Right now i have the freedom to guest on any organised server and most of the time it is possible to find the right server and be sure not to hit overflow with a tolarable timeframe(30-45mins before Tequatl spawns) . With the change i can’t predict wich instance of a map will be organizzed and which once will end up in chaos. In addition i can’t travel to a map to wait for the next spawn because its not guaranteed that i will end up on the right map.
- Right now we have grown communities for boss-kills. The mega-server system will break them up because of the increased trouble to get your whole community on the same instance of the map leading to more frustration for the active members of the community.
- For EU-Servers we have a massive language problem incoming. Its already a problem with overflows and without language-specific servers it will get worse. Players using speaking the same language might have a chance to enter the same instance of the map but already a minority of othe players will cause issues, at least for this minority.

Why not just solve the population problem with mega-servers and leave the bosses scheduled as is

Because every map will become what we now call overflow maps and so they’d have to think about how to deal with the fact that maps are no longer persistant as that affects event states. But instead, Anet takes the easy route and makes everything on a schedule. Very typical.

Right… where to begin?

I can’t be on twenty four hours a day and I don’t belong to, or want to be forced to join, a large guild that can invoke the world bosses. Also, smaller guilds still struggle with the insane costs for most of these unlocks – we’re already forced to join larger guilds just to play some of the game’s content and access the rewards.

So, I guess I can summarise it with two questions:
1) When will smaller guilds be able to do… anything?
2) Why do I always get the short straw with every update?

This is what I wonder as well, but apparently in this game big guilds are their solution for everything. Pugs are bad? Join a big guild! Events fail? Join a big guild! Need help with a SP, don’t you dare ask in map! Join a big guild!
There is no place for smaller guilds, no balance to make them as useful as uber huge ones (Which by the record, also prevents smaller ones to recruit and try to grow. As long as “400+, 150+ online at any time” will be around recruting, I don’t see what a small guild with 15-20 members with max 2 online at every time can do to be more appealing than those.)

I just hope that the Guild Events are somewhat reasonable to attain. If so, then I have no problem with the system after thinking about it. As at least that’s an option for spontaneity and they will be publicly available. I just hope that there are at least 2 day schedules in the end, because these times won’t be times that everyone will be able to access them at least once a day. I can only access two of them once a day at the schedule that is put up, consistently, and one of the bosses it’ll have to be on the weekend. I think the goal needs to be that everyone needs to be able to access each boss at least once per day. I’m not sure the current schedule and workaround meets that. But we’ll see I suppose (I think it will depend on how hard it is to get the Guild Events).

It does suck that Anet is abandoning the dynamic event system. That was an epic change that really shined when GW2 launched. Unfortunately it seems that creating something truly new and innovative is getting replaced with something that saves a buck or two. I’ll give it all a shot when it rolls out but I’m not holding my breath. As much as I hate to say it, it’s definitely time to have another game on tap just in case.

I don’t often post on the forums, although I read them almost every day – but felt like I really have to in the case of this world boss schedule. As someone working practically an 8-6 job in the UK on weekdays, I get at best a few hours in the evening to play on certain days, and perhaps slightly longer sessions on the weekend. This new schedule means that myself many others with similar schedules will miss out on some of the key world bosses COMPLETELY – literally the only chance to play some of the more organised events (karka, teq and 3-headed wurm) will be on the weekend if I’m lucky.

I can’t help but feel that this is restricting our freedom to play how we want, please anet if you have to bring in a schedule at least have shorter time windows between spawns. It really is a shame because the rest of the feature patch looks awesome imo, and the basic concept behind megaservers is good – just read this thread though and you’ll see how people feel about this new schedule.

Probably what Anet is expecting is that guilds will activate the world bosses often enough for the sparse schedule not to be a problem. The schedule spawn might just be a there to make sure there is a minimum. I would expect that if the player base does not meet their expectations the will make the spawns more dense..

Hoping that the players will fix this is a mistake I think, especially as those guilds spawning Teq etc won’t want to advertise the fact that they’re doing so until after their members get into the zone and people trying to join them could be facing a struggle to get into the same map instance.

The problem with the schedule should never have been created by them. I thought they had learned valuable lessons about not using such restrictive timetables from the karka event but apparently not.

What led them to introduce a system named after Zenimax’s Elder Scrolls Online Megaserver System, and that will go live exactly eleven days after the Elder Scrolls Online launched? Coincidence? I seriously doubt it.

I believe one important reason is “Marketing”. From what I understand, the “Overflow” System of GW2, has already a lot of the “Megaserver-Technology” and they only had to develop the “distribution-mechanism” how players are put on the maps.

The schedule makes me sad. I play every night for about 2-3 hours at the same time all the time. Right now I can face most of the world events, and if I don’t get a chance one night, I almost always the next. Multiple bosses running at the same time helps me choose where I want to go. With this system I will only ever see the same old boss events and will rarely get to see any other.

Population has never been an issue for me as I’m on TC and there are always people around. Granted this is not the case for everybody, but the way I see it, for servers like mine we are actually lowering the quality of life

I like the idea of being automatically brought to maps with my other guildmates. I think that will address many of the doesn’t-fit-my-play-style concerns. I’m hoping that they find some way to coordinate Orrian statues across maps. (Maybe produce the three Orr maps as a group rather than individually?) It also seems like they could have the waypoints reflect the state of the maps you would transfer to if you decided to change maps at that time. I also hope there’s a way to signal to the find-my-server-engine what it is I’m looking for. (PUG / solo play, massive zergs doing champion / living world events, map completion, etc. It’s not always the same.) I’m hoping all-contested-waypoints-are-always-contested and other removals of cross-map info are temporary patches. IF they can find a way to do that, and IF they can reliably place me on maps with the sorts of population I like playing with, this will be a nice upgrade.

My guild is small and we have a tight community. The boss schedule means some of us will never see megabosses again thanks to real life commitments. So we’re looking for games that don’t make us clock in on schedule.

As for the mega-server, I like that the server we are on has a culture. If we do RolePlaying in the open world, it is not looked upon as silly. That is effectively gone when all the zones and cities get merged.

This thread is too big to read it all, and it’s probably already mentioned before but….:

PLEASE don’t change Tequatl times like this. The times you’re putting his spawn in are times that people are either sleeping (4 am) or in school (1 pm). And for me personally while I’m at work (7pm). I know other people who have work at that time too.

For us you’re putting the Tequatl spawn times at hours where we won’t be able to do Tequatl at all anymore. What’s wrong with the 2 hour daily spawn time? I can’t speak for other servers, but Desolation has been killing him for at least 8x a day since people have figured out the mechanics.

I’ve also yet to receive a Tequatl Hoard, regardless of killing him 2+ times a day since release. You’re killing me here with these changes.

On a different note: failing a wurm attempt now means you have to wait 8 (!) hours to do another one. How can this possibly be seen as a good idea?

Not sure if this is answered already (here or somewhere else) but isn’t the list incomplete? There are at least 2 world event bosses that are missing from the list (I know there are others but I am too lazy to check the list on wiki). I figure if TBD is one of them, there is still another

The two bosses I notice is Dredge Commissar and Foulbear Chieftain.

What’s gonna happen to these two bosses? Are they being removed?

It’s probably too late to be posting this, who knows if any ANet devs are still reading this, I’m probably wasting my time, but better to have spoken up than remain silent, I think.

I’m fairly unhappy with this incoming change. One of the things GW2 always seemed to champion was giving players choice in the activities they wished to participate in. I see this whole thing as reducing players’ choices. What’s also really frustrating is seeing the immediate, mostly vociferous response to this change, yet seeing Colin on the ready up stream, still hyping it, saying how it’s going to be exciting and great or whatnot. Then we get that dev post saying they were “glad and excited” with out “overwhelming responses”. There really was no acknowledgement whatsoever to the extremely negative reaction which makes me wonder how much they listen to us or if the incoming nerfs/problems that will be created are actually intentional.

I am thankful for the work that ANet staff does and them seeming to come up with some solutions but to this whole megaserver thing, I’m sorry but…

Do.
Not.
Want.
:(

1. Boss Schedule

This is the antithesis of the “Living World” that’s been touted so much. Yeah, I know up until now, with the API or larger bosses such as Tequatl and Great Wurm, the world isn’t wholly dynamic, but it still retained some level of perceived randomness. This new schedule though is just bad. The prime time does not match up with EU prime time. As it stands, I wonder if I’ll ever see the Karka or Tequatl again, and potentially not the Wurm either given preparation for that would start during dinner time for me. And people an hour earlier in the UK have it even worse. I won’t touch on the whole mega-guild issue as that’s been thoroughly debated, but small guilds will be equally out of luck. My guild would likely have the comms/influence, but not the people to trigger those events.

Also, let’s say player Bob can only play from 8-10 CET, because he’s a normal personw with a spouse, kids and a job. With this new schedule there are several bosses he’ll never see again. He’ll not be able to see as many as he used to in the same amount of time or even have the ability to choose which one he’d like to fight if say he found Taida Covington an unfun fight or something.

Solution: More bosses spawning at the same time and more frequently to allow more player choice. Keep Tequatl and Wurm at their 2 hour spawns so as to not kitten over the mega guilds. Leave the karka as is.

2. Waypoints

All contestable waypoints contested all the time. Srsly? You must realise what an annoyance that is not to mention the added gold sink by making people waypoint twice within an area (intentional added sink?) How will my guild ever find an open CoF/CoE/Arah waypoint?

Solution: You have the tech where if a player ports to a waypoint that has just gone contested, to move the player to the nearest WP. Utilise that. Regarding contested dungeons, that should have been removed when you revamped dungeon rewards. The main reward is now a daily, account-bound reward so there’s simply no reason whatsoever to still have these dungeons inaccessible without a drawn out chain of events.

3. Orr

I would like to know how we’ll ever be able to run a temple event again? I would like to know how we’ll ever find an open temple of Balthazar so we can buy obsidian shards? Seriously, I would really like to know the answer to these questions.

Solution: I suppose the temples would need to be on a timer as well. Aside from doing away with the megaservers, I see no other way around it. You can’t expect people to be continually way pointing into the different Orr maps to find open temples or to hope to find an event. That’s just.. well.. dumb.

4. T6 nodes

This is one of the things I’m angriest about. How about the devs enter a new Malchor’s map and time how long it takes them to find all the ori/sapling nodes. Then go do that two more times with two more maps. Then tell us how much fun that was. T6 nodes gathering is one of the few decent money makers that solo players have. (I’d not catagorise myself as one) Personally, along with some dungeon running, gathering those materials has helped finance quite a lot of my two legendaries amongst some other things. I also have to wonder what’s going to happen to the prices of those materials once they turn into such a pain in the butt to find since we won’t be able to collaborate with others through the materials maps.

Dungeon running should not be the only viable source of good income for PvEers.

Solution: all version of the maps have the same spawns. This can change after ever patch, just has it always has done if need be.

I’m just really at a loss as to how a megaserver will benefit the majority of the population. I just see a lot of different playstyles getting kittened over. I see far more negatives than positives. Any player on a low pop server has always had the option to guest for events so that was easily solved. Regarding having loads of people on a map, well, sometimes that’s not so fun. I’m on a server that was free to transfer to recently and we’ve seen a population boom. I suppose it’s good to see in places like cities, but world events have become worse. More particle effects, so we can’t see the bosses, lots of mobs absolutely melting so tagging becomes very difficult, and there’s absolutely zero challenge with so many around. Really, I wish this wouldn’t be implemented at all and it’s frustrating to see no acknowledgement of all the negative comments. It smells like server merge as well.. and to that, well, merge the servers then. There’s no shame in that. It happens to all MMOs. But I don’t see how this is going to get your playerbase playing more. I’ve a feeling it’s going to hurt activity, not improve it given so many new restrictions will be put in place and choices taken away.

I figure if TBD is one of them, there is still another

TBD is To Be Done. It’s not a boss that already exists, but a placeholder for something in the future. Likely to be introduced during LS season 2.

And the bosses not on schedule will operate as before – except there will be no accurate timers for them anymore.

Actions, not words.

tbd=to be determined.

This is emblematic of how companies treat complaints: ignore them till they go away. I thought anet was different. Guess not.

Wow i beta tested this game ‘cause I was curious to the open world. I did not like WoW and was really happy when GW decided to create their Open world. Since I thought that was missing from GW1. Now I find myself not being able to do any of the world bosses, or spontaneously drop in on a huge event. I can’t schedule gaming. I play whenever I can and my family lets me and I am sure there are more players like me Who have kids and can’t live by ANet’s schedule. I hope it doesn’t turn out to be as dramatic as we all fear, But only time will tell…. and i really hope all level players will keep the same amount of fun.. although that will be quite impossible if I read all of this… (yes I actually took the time to read 90% of this forum) and I think Anet threw out their own business modell and all of the things they lured the beta testers with… WE ALL PROMOTED THE GAME BECAUSE WE THOUGHT THIS WAS FANTASTIC NEW WAY TO PLAY…. and now with these changes I am not so sure… I might not be playing the game by the end of the year… So hopefully it will pan out differently.

I don’t even HAVE kids and I can’t follow the schedule. :P I work a lot.

With this update, and the megaserver system especially, I also feel ANet is abandoning what made GW2 great to begin with. I’m concerned not only for the game I know and love, but for the MMO industry in general, if it is indeed true that most are going to a system like this.

I want world permanence. I want a living world. It’s why I play MMOs, and it’s why I’ve stuck with GW2 all these years. GW2, until now, has taken the open world to the best place we’ve seen so far as MMO gamers (or at least of the games I’ve tried), and now we’re taking a huge step backwards.

There has got to be a way to improve on the people-based perspective being done by the megaserver without removing the concept of a home server, a world where my actions have impact and permanence, and a world where the success or failure of dynamic events has lasting effects. But, if we can’t have both, I’d rather see a system that builds on the dynamic events, since it makes GW2 unique as you’ve said, than one that automatically puts me in a map that is always populated.

Same. Once/if the MegaServer system is fully implemented, it will be bye-bye GW2. The reasons I play are my really nice server community, my guild and our guild alliances, and Megaboss organisation. After Megaserver, all that’s left will be WvW and it’s not enough. I will miss the game though and would keep playing the game as it is now.

Extend the new proposed guild system to include more than just the big three (possibly a lower tier unlock to make those more convenient for guilds of all sizes) and it would be perfect. Guilds would be triggering world bosses left and right at times convenient to everyone. Win – win.

I think there will be some hiccups when the new system comes into place, but I dont think ArenaNet plans to write any of these changes in stone.

You are not part of a large part of the playerbase though, tbh you are part of the smaller playerbase who can’t play as much. The respawn times are very long and it does suck, but the fact that guilds can now activate this helps immensely. I foresee a lot of new guilds being formed simply for the purpose of doing these world bosses.

Before with the Wurm, TTS/deso were the only ones who could really do this because they were so heavily populated with players who could come and do it. What woudl happen is you would go and do it, usually fail, then spend forever waiting for the next event. You’d fail agian, and then after 2 attemps you’d lose half your people and get newer people. Whats good about this new system is you wont have 2 attemps in 3 hours. You could have 8 or 10. Which is surely enough considering that the most difficult aspect of events like these are the respawn time and the fact that a guild can get in maybe 2-3 attempts in a day at most, which is so so few.

You’re discounting the difficulty, and cost, of those new consumables. These consumables might not be cheap, and if they cost 25 merits and 25k influence, you’re looking at a cost of, just to maintain what guilds like TTS and TxS do already, 6k merits and 12k gold every month.

One guild is only able to gain enough merits for four, maybe five, non-primetime events themselves.

Here’s how I see temples working with the new megaserver system, everyone standing in Orr spamming “Paying 5g for invite to party with open balthazar vendor!!” over… And over… And over… What ever happened to “If it isn’t in disrepair, don’t mend it.” Everything worked fine barring small servers. If you have too many small servers… Merge them. Two tiny servers = 1 functional server.

A 19 year old girl with no formal education just eradicated the need for the megaserver system, and I won’t even ask for payment for my services.

Girls can be toxic, too! Let me prove it to you!~

Except for the people who are complaining during big events that they can’t get on their own server. Those people will still complain. Because servers are a bad idea, and have always been. We neither had nor needed them in Guild Wars 1.

Once you have a “server” then you have a space with the word Blackgate on it. That means it’s the same as an overflow which has the word overflow on it. People at Blackgate complain about guesting because they cant’ get on their own server. It’s entirely possibly they’re on an overflow that’s mostly blackgate, but they’ll never know and they can’t possibly decide.

This change was to alleviate that. In the old system, I’d be on Blackgate and I’d be forced into a random overflow. This time I’ll end up in an overflow with mostly Blackgate people, effectively increasing the number of Blackgate servers. In fact, we could have as many Blackgate servers as we need, comprised of Blackgate residents and the people who guest there.

The word overflow was causing a problem and a big disconnect. It’s just not necessary. Again, it worked fine in Guild Wars 1 during holiday events, it should work fine here too.

As for the other servers, even busy servers have dead zones…so just merging servers wouldn’t help that issue.

Finally, right now, Anet might be running 20-30 versions of the Iron Marches, while they might only need 3-4 version. By doing this is free up server space and processor power.

Your solution doesn’t take that into account.

People keep saying this was done just to merge servers, but I’m not so sure that’s the complete truth to the matter.

I just disconnected from the Tequatil boss, its a shame that means I dont get to do it today because there are no options left since it wont spawn again for 8 hours.

That means I had to wait like an hour, just to disconnect from the game without getting to play because I cant get back in since the map is full. I have absolutely no idea about the pros of this megaserver for me personally, there are only cons. Usually I dont mind if I disconnect because I can just do a different teq, but now I have nothing to do.

A Living World where your actions change the world but who’s world? I did the Karka Queen tonight and told my guild it was about to happen, and one guild member joined my squad, and mapped in. He wasn’t put into my server, he had to actually join on me just like any overflow. He’s in my guild, same server, same language, same continent and yet he wasn’t put with me to start with. I wasn’t guesting. If I go through the effort and time to say unlock Balthazar and then return to DR, when I go back to Balth is it still open? Or do I get put on another server where its locked? Do our actions impact OUR world anymore?

I would just like to add my thoughts about the current timing of when Teq spawns:

It appears that Teq spawns at 9:30 pm for my ‘prime time’ (which is fine in itself), however at 9:00 I have to pick my sister up from her work which is a 1 hour drive, this means that during a 24 hour period I miss my only opportunity to fight teq on the majority of occasions. It confuses me that you have such an unaccommodating schedule for bosses which basically bars me from playing my favourite part of the game. 8 hour spawn times only seem to work for people that dont have jobs or can play for more than 8 hours a day, I think its unfair that you only cater to a portion of your playerbase and not the majority of it.

If you dont adjust spawn times, in the future I would like to see more large scale boss fight like teq implemented into the game (that spawn at different times to teq), because those are the only 2 things that would really help give players like me more opportunities to participate & enjoy guild wars 2.

Here is my 2 cents worth.

The pve side of things have be totally ruined. I log on now to stand around waiting for something to happen. And if nothing happens, I continue to stand around. Is there an achievement for loitering/standing?

Is there anything substantial that I can do when i log on? Please do not ask me to water the plants for Farmer Diah in Shaemoor Fields.

I’ve created a simple countdown table for the World Bosses. You can find it on our website http://halo.shivtr.com/pages/events . Also have a handy checklist on the sidebar. Adding a small “upcoming event widget” soon. Love to hear your inputs
