The discussion here was going well no one was raging and there was respect to other opinions, until you arrived and started asking people to be quit, so please if you see no point to our discussion here you can just ignore this thread and browse the other ones in the Forum

Title implies and logo implies that we’ll be fighting the dragon, whatever was his name, and we’ll probably be in the area where he resides.
It’s not an expansion. It’s the Season 3.
Think about it, they can’t possibly add full scale (current gw2 map size) expansion just basing it on Maguuma.

And yet no other part of the Living Story have been trademarked as far as I can find. Why would they suddenly start now?

That point was brought up on the reddit forums as well. I’d say we got our first teaser of the new expansion. Thank the Internet Gods this is finally happening and that all that money i dumped into the gemgate store is finally going to lead to something even more epic.

Every mordrem / Mordremoth is connected with thornes. What makes you think it’s about that specific enemy? What should “Heart of Thornes” means, his name?? Oo Why should they register that? The trademark has even a logo, there’s no way it’s linked to today’s LS update in any way!

True, but unless ANET does it right, it will feel super shoehorned. ANET has a history of shoehorning.

I say Expansion ala Sorrow’s Furnace just like in GW, not so small course but not massive like Elona or Cantha thing. Maybe some extra maps and big bad boss dungeon or zone, thats my bet. Anyway hope i’m wrong and anet hit me whit a big full expansion! so lets jump in the Hype train too, i get nachos!

IF it’s an expansion (what, seriously, is the only logical explanation) I’m awaiting full map coverage of maguuma wastes, magus falls and woodland cascades, maybe even Janthir.
It would send wrong signs if the only expansion in three years wouldn’t even cover the size of an EotN style expansion.

If it’s a mini-expansion that includes more than Maguuma Jungle; could the Dominion of Winds suddenly come along with new race and profession, etc.?

I.e. not so heavy on new continents and maps, but more meat to the bone on new features too?

Well I have bit mixed feelings here. Yes it will be awesome if expansion come out but I wont be only one wo will disappointed its not Cantha and on top of than it looks like another plant theme honestly I had enough hentai already:-P

Expansion or not, those images look promising; really looking forward to something out of it. If not, I’m not bothered too much by it.

The news we’ve gotten is great – sure – but try to keep your minds open and not project whatever you want to happen to the game onto this purely speculative hype train.

We have no idea what is coming. A safe bet to avoid disappointment is to just wait and see.

No, but it’s not just the trademark…it’s a brand new logo. None of the earlier Living Stories had their own logos.

The former seasons of LW were not worth to trademark it but “Heart of Thorns” representing the new framework for expansions may be worth it.

Sometimes I get amazed by the amount of integrated systems working together in this game. I wonder how it does not fail in a such a wiiiiide variety of PCs…

when it comes to a guild wars 2 expansion most people i see are limited in thinking that it can only be achieved by releasing a whole new separate continent..mainly cantha (just cause gw1 did it in that order…even tho elona is much closer to tyria)

But why cant the new gw2 expansion be “unlocking” all of the rest of tyria which is currently locked?

the whole region north of divinitys reach, west part of the zone, fire island chains, crystal desert, some parts of the shiverpeaks, even some parts of ascalon is locked.

those are huuuuge parts of the map that we currently have that we dont have access to.

Not to mention the possibility of adding new pvp maps, pvp game modes, or even something new in wvw.

Theres so much more gw2 can add in their own expansion content wise than what someone one would normally expect form a more "traditional " expansion with a new lvl cap, new races and classes and skills and such….

So maybe, after the final chapter gets released, there will be a boxed bundle including all 8 chapters that players, who pick up the game after LS S2 finished can buy.

Instead of paying 150 gems for each episode, they can buy it for 800 gems or 10 bucks, if Anet decides to put out a box to put in stores (for extra visibility).
