Am I the only one feeling that Heart of Thorns sounds very similar to Hearthstone?

This together with the annual fiscal projections for 2015 convinced me that we’re finally getting an expansion.

In other words: OMG YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /hype

LOL – God . . . the avalanche of attacks on the forums would be epic if Heart of Thorns ended up being a card or micro game instead.

This is probably the name of an expansion that’ll release on August 28, 2015.

But it could just be the name of the LS season 2 soundtrack, which would make all this hype hilarious.

I heard that in the language called Positivity, Heart of Thorns actually translates out to precursor crafting, guild halls and new weapons/skills/and classes.

However, in it’s sister language called Negativity, Heart of Thorns means “More Trahearne” in English.

Strangely enough, the languages have both been known to be right from time to time despite their vastly different cultures.

If it isn’t an expansion, I’ll piledrive a Quaggan.

Edit: silence would actually be a good sign. If they were to release an expansion, they wouldn’t write a post on a obscure sub forum. They would, I don’t know, announce it in a big speech on the main scene of a big convention. Oh wait…

Well, no. It’s just us getting our hopes up. They didn’t say anything to us, just deposed a trademark.

And the response that followed was easy to predict. Wouldn’t be the first time a lot of people got hyped over a trademark. And I don’t blame them, many people are probably craving for an expansion, I know I am.

But I don’t want to hype over something that may not happen at all. Registering a trademark doesn’t stay a secret forever. If there isn’t going to be an expansion it’s easy to just make a simple forum post saying there won’t be one. PAX has been sold out for months so it’s not like they will loose any money because of it.

By this point we know that HoT is not a bundle of past seasons. It simply promotes what comes after season 2.

I’ve never been into the new lore of GW2, or PvE, however I always hoped that we’ll be returning to the other two continents by the time the first expansion rolls out, but, it’s quite obvious that this new thing confirms the opposite, it’s as if they’re avoiding GW1.
So, no thumbs up from me, but I’m hoping that this supposed expansion pack at least brings a new map and extremely needed WvW changes.

Now, can I laugh at all the people who were sure there was no expansion?

Awesome! Hopefully the logo and name implies that we can finally get some content that’s focused on the Sylvari.

Did you play the update?
Because if you did I can’t really see how you could claim that they are avoiding GW1 with a straight face.

Also going to other continents at this time wouldn’t really make any sense, seeing as there are still a rather large amounts of Dragons (the main enemy of the game) active in Tyria.

Well … there was the creature hovering about in the cinematic when Caithe was talking. Looked an awful lot like something from GW1 … Maybe that helps?

There’s no point to getting hyped. If you get hyped enough, something good will seem less than it is.

Hype sets the bar impossibly high way too often.

Meh, this could be anything. It might be a full expansion, or a mini expansion, or a spinoff product, or even a repackaging of the base game with all S2 episodes unlocked.

Taking all of the above into account, this could be the perfect time to release an expansion and gracefully back away from the “Living Story” concept from here on out.

I just hope that if even it will be an expansion it will be free, or I could buy it in-game.. Else I won’t be able to play gw2 anymore..

Because of this I am more scared than happy of the next update..

If the first expansion is going to be about Sylvari I’m gonna puke.

Right now I’d be happy to exchange any expansion for a targeting system that worked as expected.

The way I see it is, whatever is being announced on the 24th couldn’t possibly be released in less than a few months after that. Until that happens, I suppose we have to wait. So in LS2 we have been playing what now feels like a 6 month long trailer to a big update. Even the final cutscene was essentially a trailer. I was expecting something different.

I am very excited for what is to come, but I am very disappointed at how the ending of this season of the living story was handled. They have opened stories on so many fronts and concluded very little of it with the season finale.

Imma just use the ones I’ve been using every time Kasory has “dialog”.

I wanted to see them go with the fan favorite – long discussed Cantha – before dwelling deeper into new regions/stories.

Personally, I don’t feel connected to anything that’s happening in Silverwastes or Dry Top., out of all 8(?) Living Story updates, I’ve only finished two.

Oh well, here goes my hopes for PvE.
