Hi folks.
Just of pure curiosity, how many exotics drop for you in a week?
I look at my drop-rates and can’t begin to understand where all those non-crafted exotics come from, so I’d be interested to get an overview.
No matter if it’s armor, weapons or accessories.
If you feel like it, post your approx playtime in a week.

I’m lucky if I get one or two a week, now that I have a lot of time to play.

I could get at least one a day if I farmed them, but I’m assuming you’re not counting Exotics from dungeon tokens.

My exotic acquire rate is 12/67th of an exotic per week. that’s with about 30 weeks not playing left out (as its been about 97 weeks since head-start). 10 of those exotics fell during a 2-4 week period when the Scarlet invasions were a thing last year and champion bags fell like rain. Had 2 from L80 normal mobs before that.

I don’t remember the last time I’m gotten an exotic from a drop kill.

I get one every week to two weeks, but I don’t play a whole lot. Do Dailies and a bit extra on Friday and Saturday, usually. Oh, and a bit more on Release day, usually.

I usually don’t sell them, though. Most are sitting in the bank…lol.

I haven’t been keeping track, but I would say maybe one every 2 weeks or so.

I got two today (sadly both <1G) but most weeks: zero.

Depends on how many champions I kill that week. I get more exotics from running dungeons than in the open world, so on weeks that I run dungeons I tend to get an exotic or two. Weeks I don’t run dungeons I may not get one.

There are times I’ve been very lucky. I once got three exotics in like an hour but those times are very rare (and I was opening lots of champion bags…it was during the Scarlet invasions).

My first exotic dropped when i nearly had 1000 hours played, the second around 2000 .. then i got some more from Scarlett Invasions .. and now maybe 1 every 1-2 month either from World Bosses or these little chests in the world.

How many exotics do you find in a week?

If by ‘find’ you mean rng drop, I would say 0 (zero).

If you changed it to how many exotics do you find every 3 months?

I would say 1.

Got 130% magic find.

0-2 a week. Got one a few days ago from a champ (Giant in Nadeling). So far no precursor.

Edit: That’s 2 hrs a night, 2 minor boss events, 4 champs and numerous events.

If I ran each tier of fractals once a day, I’d guess I’d probably earn at least one of those soulbound exotics in a week of play. Though fractal rewards seem to keep getting worse so I haven’t done them much in a while.

They are very rare. Most weeks I don’t see any and if I do it is one.

I play wvw and have 180 mf, i usually get one every couple of days. i play 2-5 hours a day, but thats with non-stop killing npcs and players. I’d say most of my exotics come from champ bags and from rank up chests. If we are counting drops only, then maybe 1 a week or every other week.

On average? Close to zero. Though that’s just a guess.

But if i quit the game for a week i Always magically drop 3-5 in a week.
Same for guildies.

This game rewards you if you play less.

With 266 MF I usually get at least 1 every 2 days (that means 3-4 hours of gameplay/day), sometimes more, farming eotm or karkas, or doing dungeons/fractals. EOTM and karkas seem the best place for me since you kill tons of champs and vets+players in one, and high-level vets in another. Not to mention that karkas give you awesome proffit, about 5-6g/hour, just from the guaranteed karka shells you get for each vet kill…

You’ll never get the good stuff as long as you keep killing low level mobs in Kessex Hills or w/e.

MF is not a hoax, but you need to get past 200 to start feeling it, from what I saw. My best streak so far was in eotm a few days ago when I got 6 exotics and ~20 rares in ~2 hours of ktraining. But stuff like this is rare.

1-2/week. I play about 35hours/week. Have 128%MF

often from teq/karka chest. Rarely get anything decent from mob drops.

A solid 1, I play about 2 hours a day and I take regular breaks from the game.

I throw rare weapons in the toilet and I don’t do dungeons at the moment.

If I have time and luck, I can spend 6 hours in one day in wvw (but not karma train) fighting and farming player kills, and those days I believe I always get one exotic.

On regular days (I do not open wvw champ puches so I guess that spme exo might be stuck there) I would say I get at least one, maybe two in one week. By regular I mean 2-3 hours of different content each day.

When I play only to get daily, none.

I play around 4-15 hours a week, I have MF ~130%
Counting just from drops I have got 0.
Counting from exotic boxes and bags I usually get around 1-3 exotics a week, I think that is enough.

From 0 to 10 a week it depends on how much money i have floating around to use. Usually if I’ve got more than 5 gold I usually get 2 a week playing 3 to 4 hours during the week days.

had easily over 1000 since the start and so has my guildie.
Southsun event alone got over 70 in a week including 9 in just over an hour.
I play a couple of hours on a night and a lot on weekends.
There has been a noticeable drop off in exotics since the magic find went account bound . I did get 5 in 2 hours at dry top on Monday worth 28g.
I run with 183mf and my guildie is around 280 .

Edit: i typically play 1-2 hours a night either in Cursed Shore or WvW .. and about 4 hours each Saturday and Sunday. Base MF is 189%.

I was in WvW last night, for about 2 hours, and received no less then 3 exotics.

I do alot of wvw and some eotm. All i get is maybe 1 exotic a month and maybe 2 rares a day and i got my first ascended chest a month ago and nothing ascended since. My magic find is at 150+ and i miss my magic find gear terribly. I do believe my magic find gear set was more successful then what ever this new system is. I have over 150 magic find and have not noticed a difference in drop rates as it’s been increasing.
I do hope that one day this gets fixes.

MF was broken on armor – there was no rhyme or reason to it. Some people who had high MF, found nothing and others who had none found tons of items.

A.Net fixed the MF, supposedly. By the items I find, I think they have.

Most of the exotic non crafted weapons we see on the TP likely come from 2 sources, forging rares and champ bags. Personally I’ll see an exotic maybe 2 per week. Usually from a champ bag or fractal chest but sometimes random drops. Depends.

Per week … about 0.25 exotics., maybe even less.
Last month I got more ascended drops than exotics, 1 Settler’s weapon and 2 rings against a Cobalt drop.

Secondary question: Of the exotics you get from drops – what are uniquely named versus something like Orrian Greatsword of Thisorthat?
I find named exotic drops are increasingly rare.

I get mainly named ones as 95% of my exo drops are from champ boxes in EotM. I get like 2-4 per week farming there. Not sure but I think there is a set number of different named exos you can get from champ boxes in EotM as I always get the same ones (3 or 4).

If I am very lucky. I will get 1 a week. Typically I’m not so lucky though, last week I got 2 and just about had heart failure from it. Haven’t seen anything better than a green since then though.

As for named vs not… not sure. Somewhere between 40/60 and 50/50. Of the two I got last week, 1 was named and 1 was generic. The last exotic I got before that was also named.

When I farmed the world boss train for 3 days aprox 5-6 exotics in the whole 3 days(Except those paterns from Karka Queen).In boss train I mean all the bosses except Taidha,I killed her only 1 time,rest of them every single one and dungeons Ac/CM/CoF and I can count on 2 hands how many exotics I got in the whole 3 days.Yellows where somewhat better but if I say around…14/world boss -1 from Taidha so 13×3+from loot let’s say 10=49-50 but worthless almost.They ended up in mystic toilet.

When I was doing the World Boss Events pretty exclusively I was getting 1/day every day for a month straight.

Now that I don’t really do the Boss Events anymore I get maybe 1-2 per Month

Got Final Rest(?)….I exclaimed on chat, this was the first exotic I’ve had for months and months – then everyone told me that this particular weapon drops a lot more often now, since it was bugged before.

I got that one a few weeks back as well. I knew it dropped much more often, but I was still excited because it was a skin I wanted.

Yes i’ve had tons of them but Behemoth and Shatterer have never been good to me, killed them more times than i can remember.
Got final rest couple of weeks ago for the first time and was delighted with it, i keep it in the bank as a trophy.

I say it averages at 1 per week for me. I’ve been for 2 or 3 weeks without getting one, and suddenly get 3 in one day. But of course depends on what I’m doing, when the invasions event was new and everyone was doing them I’d get one exotic a day at least, with one day getting 3 named ones.

I caved back in the day and bought it (Final Rest) for 8g I believe. The character it is intended for is still around lvl 25, lol.

I can’t really say, I’ve been playing a bit more recently and also spreading my wave of wrath more in orr … so my view will be skewed. I’ve had one drop and one exotic from chest recently that I remember – best guesstimate would be one a month maybe.

Once every 2 weeks probably. That is armour and weapons and trinkets exotics. Last was a armour piece from a mob during defense phase of teq last week.

It varies wildly depending on the activity.

Dungeon running has almost no mobs to kill and thus I don’t think i’ve ever seen an exotic drop in my 300+ dungeon runs

World Bosses have better chests then dungeons, but still almost no mob killing. When I run the full set of world bosses I may see 1-2 exotics a week, if I am going 4 hours a day of just world bosses.

My farming spot where I have a high number of kills/hr is modified by my very high MF, I see about 1 exotic every 2 hours of farming. This is pure mob farming so it has the highest potential exotic yield by far. Also very boring. I don’t farm very often, it isn’t worth it to me.

It’s important to remember that chests are not effected by MF, and chests is where many players get most of their loot.

My average is 1 every 2 weeks qq

Back when I farmed hardcore I probably had about 3-4 exotics per week dropping. You can see all my exotic drops since I started recording over here.

Pretty clear proof that magic find works if you know how to maximize your loot chances in GW2 (barring the account luck conspiracy theorists)

Run with 200-300% mf and maybe get 1 a month actively playing 10+ hrs a day. I run zerk staff guard in event farming and pvt staff guard in wvw zerg v zerg ( I have 2…one for each), zerk war in dungeons, and the rest of my toons mostly stay unplayed. Most of my exos have come from tokens, forging, or map clear, which are lack luster to say the least.

One every few months. Two if I am super lucky!

hardcore farming 1-2 a day

As a drop direct drop(so finding it on/next to the corpse of the thing you just killed) from killing something it is generally 0.
As something from a champion box, world boss chest or dungeon chest maybe 1 or 2 every 1-2 weeks.
The bound on acquire ones from FotM seems to have the highest drop rate.
