If you can bring back one thing from GW1
Cantha ofc,Dervish as well
Build variety
Or the old mesmer. I loved my mesmer and never managed to get into the new one
I’d exchange Trahearne for it or any of the meaningless dead “friends” from story that didn’t live long enough to get attached to them :p. There was even one I didn’t remember and my character mourned her for several story parts like she was family XD
Hard Mode
/15 chars
I could pick so many things.
If I could bring back only one thing though, it would have to be my Snowman Helm.
Human Gods
Mursaat (yay coming)
Diversion, Esurge, Eburn
Mesmer Armours
Grentch at Christmas
Too many things to pick from. But if I had to pick one and only one:
Challenging enemies.
Even the wildlife like skale had ~5 skills that they utilized, rather than the 1-3 that we see in nearly every non-boss foes pre-Living World in GW2.
Why aren’t wurms the megalithic threats they were in GW1?
Why aren’t bats (then called Stormcloud Incubus) such a pain in GW2?
Why are areas we’re told are nightmarish and true threats to all – such as Orr and the Dragonbrand – nothing more than minor annoyances or simple crowd control tediousness? They should be more like the Realm of Torment or Ring of Fire.
I guess this can fall under “build diversity” if such was expanded to both NPCs and PCs.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Henchmen, but only for instances areas.
Oh, and foes that can be killed if they cannot reach you.
Duncan the Black.

To be fair, Orr was pretty nightmarish before it was rebalanced.
Saved builds. Would be nice to easily change my build on the fly without having to refer to an index card. Just the traits/utilities would be fine, I can set the gear manually.
As a ranger, I also wouldn’t mind pets being optional again ;-)
I hope all the people who demand henchman die in a fire. Henchman turned gw1 into a ghost town single player game. I mean if you can’t succeed at pugging a dungeon more often than not, the problem is not the PUGs…even fractals is super pug friendly.

The ability to save a build and import it.
Heroes…
Too few people wanting to do quests in Silverwastes, most of them crowding around chest farming instead.
More Personalised Loot rewards , Put the Vendors at the end of the Dungeons rather than in Lions arch .
sometimes not knowing what is available or how it looks untill you’ve finished said dungeon is enough to entice people to give it a go without the discouragement of other players saying you need X damage to do this dungeon , then maybe LVL 35’s will do Dungeons Aimed at there Level , rather than waiting till Level 80 to conform.
In gw1 the reward as the option to purchace the Armour for Gold/coins after finishing the dungeon/mission and that was a great enough reward for the effort, these tokens trivialize that and makes people go great i have to do this dungeon X amount of times for X amount of tokens.
back in gw1 if you had the cash+ required Materials to Trade to the NPC, to buy said armour you could as a reward for compeleting the dungeon and GOT your armour when you wanted it , rather than Rinse and repeat.
also wouldn’t it be great if there was a unique armour set for finishing each season of the Living story , you’d finish it and (by other players telling you theres some epic armour when you finish a part of the Living story) you could Save and buy that armour.
Get rid of tokens.
You know, I forgot that I started this topic. I was quite surprised to have gone on the forums, click on a random topic on the first page, and then find out that I’m the first poster. LOL.
Anyways, on topic, the “One” in the title was for effect. It does not mean that you can’t post more than one thing.
Seeing that I didn’t add anything, what I want are the some of the builds back. You know, Sabway, Nuker Ele, Discordway, Touch Ranger, Pet Dagger Ranger Best Master Ranger, MM Rit, Crit Sin, Etc. Etc. I miss them all. Don’t get me wrong, I love some of the GW2 builds, in fact I want to somehow sneak my GW2 Ele into GW1, you just gotta love the classics. Am I right?

Tomb of the Primeval Kings . Oooooh man back in my day….. such good memories. it being connected in lore with Istani’s, Turai ossa, Lord Victo, The Sunspears, Zaishen Dhuum, Abaddon.. Could you just imagine the how much good stuff they could do with this. GW1 end boss you fought the 3 Darkness at the same time so bring it to GW2 and make fighting 3 legendary at once. the mechanics they could think of. I’m not talking about a fractal either. but more of a multi-stage dungeon.

I never played Guild Wars 1 but i did alot of investigation and research about it and also read alot of post and report here of how challenge and fun it was include exact what you say.
That they tried hard to work with players to fix problems in result made the game very fun and very challenging.
-No Ignore players
-No stealth
-No Instant Kill
-No reward only
-No not have everything ready
-No not have any effort
-No not have skills
-No Blame players for fault
-No Blame Players for L2P
-No not have consequence for mistake
-No not have requirement for anything
Common Sense! and Obvious! why no

The MinionMaster….
Variety in weapon skills. Back in the factions days, one could run a 100b sword with sun and moon slash + final thrust, (I think those were maybe conjure wars, but GW-memorial has bitten the dust ) and get pretty high up in championships, or run a charge war with sever, gash and final thrust. One is straight up damage, while the other adds conditions and a party-wide speed buff to it’s mix.
Definitely endgame content: UW, FoW, Urgoz, Deep, DoA with party size from 8-12 like in GW1. This low profile mini group content called dungeons with 5 people since 3 years is really a let down for me.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Dodge removed.
More skills + stationary spell casting
Tomb of the Primeval King or Fort Aspenwood
Fun times!
sorry, gonna be 2:
1. Skill templates
2. Henchman to be able to run instances with your own 5-piece group
Cantha.

Indeed – Cantha!
Then, if I could bring some more, I’d include:
Skill captures
Challenge missions (hopeful of what the HoT Adventures will be)
Build templates
Collectible minis (worth it)
Polymock
Underworld & FoW
Things I’m glad are gone:
Heroes&henchmen
Lack of jumping
Lack of TP
Boring combat
Lack of feeling like an MMO

I played GWs for quite a few years and then just started playing GWs2…
Was excited when I started playing but then at level 16 realising I will be using the same “weapon skills” at level 80?! Have half a mind to quit the game already…
*On topic – More skills
