Know what? I will farm this crap untill december ends. I do not want wasting any more time. I allready bit the bullet for some Charr barefoot footwear, and I’m fine with it, even if I really, really, really want some own customization.

5 more days now. All Shrooms slaughtered. Makes 35 more unsuccessful attempts. Not even a kitten exotic item. I quit at this point, until something changes.

Played my newest character without Boots the last 5 days. Looks fine to me and no one has criticized it (Dungeons and Fractals). Losing Stats and a Rune still sucks, but there is nothing I can do about it.

now we just need more high heels of various varieties across all weight classes. the only really good pair you get as a single skin is the aura light shoes and even then they are only what, 1-2 inch heels at best. there are some ankle boots with heels, but mostly heels either come from outfits or the insane tease that is experimental envoy armour that I will never be able to get cause I don’t have a raid group.

I wonder what all the people who are crying did before HoT. It is not like you need it or it gives you any advantage, it is just another (expensive) skin. It is about the price of a legendary or ghastly grinning shield. If you want to so badly, just buy it.
The only thing I find a bit disappointing is that the different armor classes are different unlocks instead of a single unlock for all armor classes.

People are rightly complaining (not “crying”, as you put it) because there is absolutely no reason why this was not just a simple toggle like the gloves, shoulders and headgear instead of an ultra-rare drop.

I stole a special snowflake’s future by exercising my democratic right to vote.

Asking Begging for a toogle option for 3 years? That’s actually the reason, the “skin” made it to the game, but in a very strange way to obtain.

Anyone fought the Shroom at Draconis Mons? It run’s to one Underground tunnle to the next, while you have to avoid endless troops of other Mushrooms. You can’t stop, slow or block it. Took me and another guy around 7 minutes. Absurd.

Nooooo! On the contrary, we need less of those! (shudders) It’s so hard finding good flat boots/shoes for female characters as it is.

I just peaked into Black Desert, the armors for female characters are terrible (as are the animations and the girly anime voices). All high heels, short skirts, even stockings — so cheap. I felt disgusted and had to leave. That is the only reason I am not going to play that game.

Now, if GW2 continues with the sexist armor policy, I might consider leaving as well. At least, here we still have some alternatives (and it’s still much classier than in BD).

I’d love invisible shoes just because I think a lot of charr shoes look ridiculous.

But what I’d pay good cash money for is an invisible backpack skin. So many times I’ve managed to make an outfit for a given character that I’m pleased with, only to find I really don’t like ANY of the backpacks. I mean I need one, for stats, but I don’t want to see one on every alt.

You can just check the box in your hero panel to toggle the backpack to invisible, same as with hat, shoulders, and gloves.

You mean they could have implemented a checkbox for that too, instead of coming up with an ultra rare skin? Hmmm… now, there is an idea. (And yes, I was thinking the same thing.)

I’ve been thinking for quite a while that there are 1, 2 or maybe 3 players are forming a monopoly to keep the price up. So if you are willing to pay there price, you do support there methodes, and that makes me puke.

it’s actually really hard to find shoos with heels, all i see are flat boots and low heeled boots.
when i hear heels for shoos, i am thinking of this.

Gz.

I never saw someone posting it after slaying a shroom. People allways tell here about there rare loot, repeatedly dropped in Dragon’s Stand. The loot at Bloodstone Fen and Draconis Mons seems different, so maybe no Boot Boxes here? I don’t know … After 2 year’s it is not really proven, which Shroom drops the Boxes.

Any evidence?

High price alone is not evidence of market manipulation when speaking of very rare drops.

As I said: It’s just a thought. But as we know, Trading Post was and is a money making machine. Buy cheap, sell high. It is normal economic thinking, and it works. “Opportunity plus instinct equals profit.” – 9nd Rule of Acquisition (for Trekkies)

I remember a old Story from Guild Wars 1. Crystalline Swords were a very expensive object (even if the skin was … meh). It was, because these swords droped rarely, and only on very specific locations on the game. Long time people did not know, were exactly the Crystalline Swords can be found. So the price kept high, even for Swords with average stats. Someday, someone leaked a information of a farming spot, and the people who knew the whole time about this spot went mad about the leaker. They (a bunch of people) kept this a secret to make high amounts of money. I do now know anymore, if the leaker was one of them, but oh boy, that was a mud fight. Friendships broke, accounts were temporally shut down because of the toxic.

The moral of the story: “Greed is eternal.” – 10nd Rule of Acquisition

Oh, I dont doubt the possibility, just curious as to whether it was speculation or supported.

I honestly didnt realize that crystalline sword farming was that much of a secret. Then again I was not active on any of the forums back then (other than a couple of ranger build theorycrafting sites).

It is not just the ingame money. I did a google search for “Invisible Boots” a few days ago and ended allready on the second page on some illegal trading websites. Over 200 € (about 230 USD) for the item. Seems lucrative, as long as the ingame price keeps that high of course …

The problem with the invisible shoes skin is that it is INSANELY rare. It took long enough to unlock the ability to make these mushrooms visible, but then to obtain the drop is like trying to get the chak egg sac drop from Chak – trust me, you most likely will NEVER get it.

I’ve personally given up on the invisible shoe skin. Just like the Chak Egg Sac, it’s another item no one will ever see the light of day.

It’s so stupid. Stupidly rare. Stupid drop rate. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Solution? Make treasure mushrooms reward a currency that you can turn in for an account bound invisible skin. Keep the tradeable invisible shoe skins in game (and lower the insane drop rate chance at the same time), for those who can’t be bothered hunting the mushrooms for an account bound version, so it’s still a nice profit if you happen to get the shoe drop. It’s a win-win for everyone.

At the same time, perhaps it would be a good idea for Anet to an add invisible chest, gloves, helm, shoulders, and legs skin to the treasure mushroom drop table, for a complete invisible set. These could also be obtained through the new currency the mushrooms provide from each kill, and likewise, tradeable versions that you can get from a lucky drop.

Forever a supporter of more male skimpy armor

Sometimes both of those get in the way of fashion for men.

Nostalgia Tokens made the Mini Karka drop 4/5 of it’s price. I wouldn’t mind the same here

Atleast: Current Buyers price gradually sinks to 2,000 gold. Good trend, but nobody knows what happens when PoF is out and nobody gives a kitten about the shrooms.

I can say they do exist… I got the box in AB from the shroom. And I know this will kitten everyone off but it was only my 3rd time killing the shroom. What will kitten people off, even more, is I did not even know what they were until I went to TP them. 5 years in the game and I never got a precursor… so this is my one big drop I guess…

LOL, As a matter of fact, It was right before Meta and I had gone into the map. The TM spawned but then I died to a freaking herd of bristle-backs. When I WP the TM was gone and I could not find him again. So I switched instances to get on the map of the rest of my taxi. The TM was there too. So I killed him with about 3-4 other people and Boom a drop. I did not have on any booster or MF gear. Just totally random.

Now the question is where to price it… I do not want to charge 3,200g for it but I still need to save some cash for my Gen 2 Legendary. So I am thinking 2000-2500g,

I started again to farm the shrooms. At least 3 shrooms every day since about two months: 1 or 2 exotic drops, nothing special. Must be now about 2,000 shrooms without drop in total. I hope to see other ways to obtain these skins in PoF. If not, I refuse to spend any more time with this crap. So when the time comes, I will buy 2 pairs and end this 2 years ongoing nightmare.
