A set of T3 cultural costs 119G + 400gems or 30.52G for the crystals to transmute it to armor that doesn’t have trash stats.
I bought mine back when 100g was a lot of kittening gold and took forever to grind. Luckily this is the only cultural armor set I have bought and I can soon expect the rest of the cultural sets on the gemstore and buy them for half the price, right anet?
Between the armor and transmutation stones, you spent more than twice as much for cultural armor than it costs to buy it off the gem store and you don’t even have to play a race with terrible racials to get it.
When does my human get Norn cultural and Snow leopard?

My armor is not on fire… and I don’t cry whenever something I bought goes on sale.
You’ve obviously never seen snow leopard in WvW. It’ better than ele class elites.
Huge gap closers/escapes and stealth is crazy good.
This. Snow leopard is the biggest slap in the face to all non-norns in this game and should have been nerfed to remove the mobility a year ago. It has a freaking 3000 range dash and stealth, which is far better than fgs. Now the fact that norns get our cultural armor too is just spitting in the face of light armored humans.

I think this tactic that ANet is using is for surveying purposes it just make sense now. 2 ugly karma armor plus 1 tier 3 armor reskin? they’re doing this to gather info as to who would buy t3 cultural armor from other races. this one is just a test sample, Im sure other cultural armors are going out as well in the gem store. those who took marketing in business would know what i mean.
The fact that they have gone through with this decision tells me that they do not care about peoples time. A lot of people saved up their gold for the T3 cultural armor. For many people, that was their endgame armor they were striving for. The new set just released, costs cheaper and has an added effect, making the original look rather dull in comparison.
Cultural armor is another major thing that made the races feel and look unique. Many people simply rolled the race they have because of the cultural armor, and now you’re starting to sell them on the gemstore with added effects? Baffling decision.
One can’t be too surprised though, considering it’s near 2014 and new releases are around the corner. It’s time for them to start scraping as much money as possible before people start flocking.
At least we now know that nothing is exempt when it comes to the gem store. They have just sacrificed cultural armor, which is unique to the human race for a quick buck .I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if they start selling class elites, or exclusive abilities for X amount of gems soon. This is just a stepping stone.

You guys….are…seriously making me consider deleting my human ele who I have had about a year now, to recoup the slot and roll a Norn Female Ele. I already liked their cultural armor, but now I can have BOTH sets and the Snow Leopard elite….only issue is grinding from 20-80 (since I ain’t paying to craft that out).
The fact that they have gone through with this decision tells me that they do not care about peoples time.
Indeed, the deed is done. There will be no hotfix to remove or change this item. No matter how much complaining goes on I seriously doubt you will get ANY official post in this thread other than threats promises to shut it down.
I agree, if your going to give cultural armor to other races it should be all cultural armor. Though it makes me sad that it’s not cultural anymore…….but norn t3 would look awesome on my human ranger. They shouldnt take the new armor from non humans but part of wishes they would if they’re not going to make other races armor available.

- Those that complain like me mostly do because now everyone, of every race, can have the human t3, for cheaper and with cooler (arguably) effects. Human t3 has become a second rate too expensive non exclusive skin and all the effort WE put into gettign it has gone to waste.

I know it’s the principle of putting cultural armor sets on the gem store, but to me the new fiery C3 looks vastly inferior to its in game counterpart. To me, no offense to the artists, it looks like a cheapened Cultural 3 set — and that’s exactly what it is. Why not let other races enjoy the general aesthetics of the set, as long as that kindness is reciprocated to the human race as well some day? Humans are still unique; their natural non-fiery armor just looks better, to me.

Well, when they put legendary skins in the gem store for a fraction of the TP gold cost to gems conversion then your point will be valid to the overall tone of the actual thread.
If they made it a 1:1 ratio the current Eternity price would mean the skin would cost 74,468 Gems to purchase.
People have been able to gem a set of T3 since launch. They just haven’t been able to do it for 800gems/~60g since ever. That’s why people are kitten ed.
Got the Cultural T3 a few weeks ago, was about to buy Kasmeer’s Staff and gathering tools… nope, not touching the cash shop anymore.
Moreover, I expect to quit the game if I’m not satisfied Anet’s response to this fiasco within a week or so. It has been quite clear what the company’s directions are since a while ago, but this move just pushed me to the edge.

exactly, they dont listen at all. Pretending to not listen does not make the problem magically disappear.
There is one more thing… (female heavy armor)….Why u guys don,t remove the upper cloth part of the armor ? ….. will look match nicer end cleaner …

I only bought 2 pieces of the T3 so far and was planning to buy more for mix & match. I just want to know why they’ve now decided to make RACE EXCLUSIVE cultural armor wearable on all races.
It took an intern 30 mins to make and will make them enough for nice Xmas bonuses. Our opinions don’t matter, I’ve already seen so many people with the set it’s not even funny.

honestly i think this is a sample test that theyre conducting if theyre profitable or not, flames will surface they know if they put these armor up, i mean 2 ugly karma armor and T3 reskin armor? business strategy to profit, i think T3 Human female armor are getting a lot of attention in their radar, so why not sell it?
i am not one of the players that cares to much about the look of the character so this doesn’t affect me as much as it might other players but i do understand why other players might be kitten ed and i would like to say this was a big mistake
It’s good to see that the community can still recognize when massive mistakes are made. I’m glad almost all of us are in agreement that this is a terrible misstep.
