You know I love the new medium skirt/boots I just really don’t get why they had to cover it up with a trench coat. (It’s not a bad looking coat, but we have enough coats already and about 1 option if you don’t want a coat hanging past your butt).

Yeah, I also wanted to comment that the new female medium armor is quite good when you just pick some pieces. I will definitely give the skirt to my thief. At least if these armor are available for pve and obtainable without paying an arm and a leg.
I really like the light one and I also like the heavy armor (not all pieces, but I am used to mix and match ^^)…

Anyone knows how and when they will be made available?

The light Female set looks great, the NPC kasmeer armor, but the rest is just norn generic stuff, honestly when can we get some nice looking armor that shows some body, male and female…

I honestly do not see these as nice looking outside of the female light armor..did they think we are lacking trench coats or something because more is just unbelievable..

good. lol. they have needed to update the gem store with armor skins and these are way better than the previous new additions. they need to make new sets avail through new dungeons or something as well but to be honest almost a year into this game and only 1 new series of skins on the gem shop doesn’t make sense. they gotta make money somehow!

I would love it if they did that, but I don’t expect it, and I’m not particularly against their putting armors in the gemstore either. What I am against is (A) Gambling, which this may not be by the strictest legal interpretation, but is by an level of common sense, and (B) Withholding customer information, if they are going to have cash purchased RNG items, it’s dishonest to withhold the potential rate of return from the purchaser.

I see no issue with putting it in gemstore. There are 20+ sets available through in game means, only 2 through store. And you can change gold to gems anyway.

Lady Kasmeers set looks like

I hope they do put it in the gem store- a cosmetic item that you can buy if you like it, seems perfect to me.

I tried it with the Aetherblade armor and the combinations are just awesome- I really really want the light and medium set and I will gladly pay 800 gems each for it.

What we need is a check box on the coat slot that when you un-check it cuts the bottom of the million-and-one trenchcoats.

if its on gem store i want to buy chest/leg piece only, don’t charge me $10 for two pieces

Well I like the light armor…..sans those kitten leggings. Might use the top in a mix-and-match set. The boots seem very similar to the pvp Armageddon boots (cant think of whakittens called in pve of the top of my head)

Like the medium armor too. That skirt…..muahahahahaha…. Lets see if I can fit that into a nice set.

Why do all armors look almost the exact same on asura? I love asura, but our armors look all the boring same. Maybe its just the light armors, I don’t know. I wish it would actually look like I’m wearing a new armor. The only good looking armor seems to be the cultural armor and that is super expensive.

Woo more light armor that looks like garbage on anything other than humanoid females! Oh and another trench coat? Just what we all wanted! Heavy armor’s okay though, helm still removes beards but whatever: if it worked properly that would imply the armor designers listen to players.

Personally, I think they are not worth it. (Well, except for female light… I guess)

I don’t see why people are hating on the medium armor. I previewed it with my current dyes and it looked truly boss with the metallic parts being gold and the leather parts being black.

I personally want more metal on medium armors so the engy can make sense to me when wearing them.

They seriously need to port in every single Armor set from GW1 Mesmers. Those looked great for both males and females.

Also, when designing light armor, I think they should use Dancing With the Stars as a reference. Their costumes are, more often than not, a mixture of beauty and sexy without looking kittenty.

I think the GW1 Mesmer Rogue / Elite Rogue Armor would look gorgeous as medium armor in GW2.

Corset top, leather pants/leggings and thigh high boots = super stylish and sexy.

Well, this’ll be a set of armor I’ll almost completely ignore.

In my own personal opinion I’m very meh’d by both the light and medium ones, the heavy looks fantastic though (yet I am completely baffled as to why it’s heavy and not medium).

My main (male) wears light armor and I was very disappointed to see an armor that looks like a cross between armageddon and priory light armors.

While the medium looks like a badly made clunky robot from outer space – with a trench coat.

I liked the heavy chest and leggings only, they reveal a bit of skin which is a breath of fresh air for males. I like how they reveal a bit on the legs and the upper body too. Plus that fur looks pretty fantastic. Best part – it’s asymmetrical, something light armor is lacking miserably.

All in all, very sad with them.

Today is the first day that I was able to view the male version of the light armor. I actually like it. I think I’ll place it on my Necro.

Yes, exactly. 30g for an entire set. Now look at cultural (T3) which is 119g for an entire set + you need crystals for those. The cultural chest piece is…30g! What a shocker. As I’ve said numerous times to other people. If it’s worth it, it’s worth it. Otherwise you don’t buy it, simple as that. I bought Krytan skin and only saved the chest, threw the rest away without a single doubt.

As much as I like trench-coats, the lack of variety in the medium armor models in the low to medium levels is getting….no HAS long been, monotonous.

Also, want light armor trousers+tunics for males and females. You can even make them skin tight to pander to the masses, just something that isn’t another kitten dress/skirt.

Also, also, get some people on making and remaking armor that doesn’t look like crap on Charr anatomy. kthx. Here’s a hint: they need their own mesh and textures, not hurried deformed crap shoehorned in.

Also also also, let up buy skins piecemeal if we want. Not letting us do so is losing you gem sales you might have otherwise gotten.

Light and Heavy are great, but as usual the medium is some weird high-tech steampunk trenchcoat theme.

I like it alright but it has the same problem as all current medium armor, your armor is your coat and nothing else, it covers everything and there is no opportunity to individualize your character by mixing and matching.

Oh but cultural is overpriced as hell and every1 knows that. Especially since cultural isn’t even exotic and requires and exotic armor piece plus a fine stone, ripoff lol. This new armor isn’t cultural which should cost less AND i should be able to buy piece i like because that’s what i did with t3 cultural, buy pieces i preferred and not forced to pay for the whole set

I offered up a suggestion on how this set could be improved, although as I have said as well I like it…But yeah, I’m tired of trench coats let’s get creative here…The rest of the set is amazing but the trench coat thing just frustrates me. Medium armor should be very stylish and not need coats to accomplish that. When I think of a thief or roguish type of character I think of somebody who is charming, good looking, stylish etc just as much as I think of someone who’s all shrouded in mystery with their coats. Let’s give the other type some love here

For those who don’t want to spend 10 dollars for 800 gems…The gold to gem ratio really, really, really stinks…But ArenaNet has to make money somehow, and this is one of the best ways for them to do so. I’m sure eventually there will be new skins available via in-game means as well but remember that it’s almost been a year since launch and they’ve only had 1 set of skins added to the gem shop. Most games have a dozen or so added to their in-game shops by now so they’ve got some catching up to do!

I disagree with that statement so hard. It’s easily one of the best and most unique male light armors thus far, with the exception of the mask. I was tired of getting poorly done dresses and impractically frilly garments.
