I was quite pleased that I got to give my Elementalist the name ‘Emma Lentalist’

I named my Warrior “No Nerfs For Me”.

But, on a lighter note, Happy Friday all! Those little hairs standing up on the back of your neck… that’s the Mad King sending early tidings of things to come.

Played a tournament match against a mesmer named “Phantasmal Duelist”. Said Mesmer was playing with sword + pistol, so he was also spawning Phantasmal Duelists.

My reaction was “You cheeky little git”.

I saw 2 people named The Sniper and The Engineer.

I prefer names that fit in, that looks like possible names connected to the lore. However, some clever names, like for instance Kate Moss on a sylvari can give me a good laugh.

Personally I take my inspiration from things I like, bands, historical persons, songs, album names and so on, so none of mine are fun or witty. I have one name that has followed me since DaoC which many people have commented on during the years. It has also saved me from getting ganked/zerged more than once back in WoW while being out doing dailes/farming or leveling.

Mithotyn, well in this game hes named Mithotyn Stormleaf and hes my soon to be sylvari warrior.

Fun names I’ve seen lately have been a few, have two I can think off from the top of my head in my guild.

Most of my names don’t fit with GW 2 as they are all OC names for a series of books I want to write. They all carried over from GW 1 with some modification to go with the ancestry thing. I was hoping for us to choose our heritage at the beginning of character creation and not at the lv 20 point of the Personal Story.

My elementalist is named Yumiko Emi Ishida as her ancestors were supposed to be Canthan (Yet I had to start in pre-searing as I must always do things in lore/story/older to newest order.) in GW 1. And my name on the forums is my GW 1 ele’s name.

The rest of my characters are also named after OCs.

The only one that really fits will probably be my charr engineer.

His name is Calrath Vilefur.

I chose a more elf-like name for my Female Sylvari ranger, Silfina Heimdisia.

Mine are all more immersion than funny… but most of you can see that…

I had a funny name for a Sylvari but forgot it.

One of the more funny one’s that I have seen : Ow Capwn

I tried to make a Sylvari named Sticky Buddy, but somebody’s already taken it. I salute you, unknown player!

I spotted an engineer named Fe Stark. Took me a couple seconds to get it, then I lol’d.

My buddy has a Charr named Johnny Charrson.

A ranger whose pets were all named ‘Kenny’

And Boris the Blade (which I tried to get at launch but couldn’t~)

I’d like to throw the name of my Charr Ranger in to the mix: Charr Le Main.

I saw a few weeks ago a dancing guy in LA named “Hobo of Lions Arch”

made me giggle. Would’ve wanted to throw 1 copper into his hat for dancing, but he has no hat

i saw a female warrior (maybe ranger, i forget) named: Sally Forth.

I use a naming convention based on Ghoti. Pronounced like “fish”, and something I’ve loved using since hearing the word.

Ghotistyx(any and all mains), Ghoti Bones (necro), Cat Ghoti (charr), Ghoti Burns (inside joke), How I Mine for Ghoti? (vgcats reference, engineer), Ghoti Tank (warrior), etc etc.

My engies name is Beldin Ashentree. Seems normal at first but try reading it with a different emphasis, for example Bel-din A-shen-tree.

Hint: yes I played TF2 :P

I giving some serious thought to creating a new Charr and naming him Dr. Charrsano.

By far the best pet name I’ve seen was of someone’s Jungle Stalker: “Leopardo Davinci.”

Nimbus Terrafaux….I said his name in vent and he yelled “TOASTYYYY!”

What freedom of speech?
You’re playing a product owned by a private company. Their rules prevail. There’s no such thing as freedom of speech here.

Guildy of mine names his female Asuran Ranger Elmmera Fudd which by itself isnt that funny but when he spent half the day hunting rabbits… it became hilarious.

As to the person talking Free Speech? err … It’s a game, they have a right to do whatever they want… if that means being over zealous about removing names from the game or forums because it’s against their EULA ( which Im pretty sure it is lol ). Besides you joined the forums you play the game you hit accept terms of service you gave up that “right” lol.

I’ve seen someone going around named Jigglypuff.
Also my guildie has a bear named The Irony Dolyak.

After trying every name that I had used in an online game for the past 10+ years and having all of them already taken, I settled on a new one and then was running in the starter area and saw the name

I laughed because I felt his pain.

I have a hyena called “Giggles”.

Also saw a “Charr in boots” once.

The only non-serious name that I had for awhile was ‘Charrfield Rarbuckle.’ The Charr even looked like Garfield on steroids!

As a side note, I tried several of the names from this MST3K video and they were all taken!

A Norn named “This Man There”. It’s a shortened version of , “This Man Over There”. He’s one of the 5 partners of the main bad guy, “That Man”, in the anime “Excel Saga”.

Leopardo da Vinci is pretty brilliant.

Ah! I have a jungle stalker on one of mine (don’t use the character anymore). My Norn Ranger called Kearta, had a jungle stalker called “Leopardo Dicatrio”
