There needs to be more PvE monthly options. This is ridiculous. And something that does not involve jumping!

This month (November) you had at least five you could complete in PvE and you only need four:

Monthly Completionist (4 Dailies)
Monthly Salvage Kits (500 Salvage)
Monthly Champion Slayer
Monthly Successful Events
Monthly Skillpoint Amasser

You can do any of these PvE monthlies without the Puzzle Jumper! What more do you need? xD

I play casually and don’t even think about monthlies or dailies, they just ding. Maybe 6-7 months ago they had one which seemed heavily WvW orientated but outside that I have never felt pressured to do anything to complete them. They just happen naturally if you play regularly in PvE.

7 out of 10 is pve stuff 2 spvp and 1 wvw

Jumping puzzle is the very definition of player vs enviorment mate

champion slayer again pve

events again pve

and while doing those you should get enough to salvage stuff for that montly

and if u play 4 days a month you should be able to get the 4 daily complete

skill point amasser is again gotten through everything so pve among others

10 fractals thats 3 fractals for 4 days again pve

I litterly gotten monthly done in 2 days of gaming once its was the 29 and i had a maraton

Yeah sorry OP but have to side with the rest. Monthlies are way easy even if you are purely PvE. I typically see them ding within the first 10 days. Sometimes they take longer but hey it’s not like there isn’t time to do them. If you are only a weekend player might take a bit longer but still totally easy.

I have never pvped, I rarely wvw and I never complete JP monthly. I have never had an issue with monthlies. Not sure why you believe pve only players can never complete it.

I thought Silverwastes was a map made in Monthly heaven. It was sooo easy this month to get the Monthly. And I never set foot in PvP, and very, very rarely set foot in WvW. Oh, and I have never, ever, finished a Jumping Puzzle Monthly. I only get one every month, where my alts are parked. Lol.

I’m not sure what the issue is…

Ok, so you need 18 more events to finish your Monthly. A short time in Silverwastes, where events happen almost incessantly. What is the problem?

Didn’t waste time looking at your link because your wrong.

I hate the jumpy jumpy in this game. HATE it. Yet that’s besides the point. Just run around doing stuff and you get the monthly. You might need to target certain goals towards the end if you need to but I’ve never had to complete jumping puzzles to complete my monthly…..ever.

I hate jumping puzzles. As in if we ever do them with the guild I ask one of them to bring a Mesmer along so that when I fail I don’t slow them down too much. Without doing any PvP/WvW, I can easily get my monthlies done. Things I use to get my monthlies (when not doing PvP/WvW which I do play) -

- World Boss Train for champs/loot/skill points/events
- Dungeon runs for Champs/Vets (elites count towards vet killer or used to at least)/loot/skill points
- Dailies for daily completionist

Those are some easy ways to get your monthlies with no PvP/WvW or Jumping.

Nope that just shows you sell more stuff than salvage. Also I can’t figure how you can’t get that Champ done in no time what with the tons of targets from Silverwastes and the various trains out there.

Silverwastes would also advance salvage and champions track very fast (though i’d actually suggest doing Tequatl and Claw of Jormag for champs, as each of those events can give you 10+ champs to the monthly easily).
Basically, i am sorry to say, but it’s hard for you to do monthly in PvE, because you are barely doing PvE (not having enough events at the end of the month is proof enough).

As others have said, not seeing a problem here.

Barely logged in at all this month and i finished my monthly early without touching jumping puzzles.

Yea i got 7 more fractals to do before reset then i got all but the spvp and wvw one

Why not suggest to your guild that they do a monthly JP event?

Once a month our guild does this, brings along a few mesmers, and for those who don’t like or can’t jump it consists of being silly on TS for 45 mins, standing where asked, and pressing F now and again. 45 mins later we go back to WvW or run a few dungeons, but everyone’s JP monthly is done.

Pretty much everyone has all the JP achievements now I think.

You know there are 3 other PvE catagories, other than jumping puzzles, that you can do to get your monthly right?

I haven’t done a jumping puzzle in forever, can’t even remember the last time I even attempted one, and still have no problems completing my monthlies. As a pure PvE player, there are several options for you to do, that don’t invlove doing anything that you don’t care for.

if you have trouble with monthly events – I’m assuming you can’t get to Silverwastes because you have 593 achiev points, so maybe you’re not even 80 yet, or maybe you are but you just don’t like The silverwastes – I suggest EotM:
- zerg running around so it doesn’t matter if you’re not 80
- truckload of events
- might get the 50 wvw kills too (zerg vs zerg)

PS: EoTm at the start of the match is even easier than average because the zergs are usually still far away from each other and you can get events “for free” (AND champions, for monthly too)

Obviously they need to add a monthly achievement for logging in.

So let’s get that proposed list for the ultimate in casual achievements:

1. Log in to Guild Wars account X times.
2. Visit Personal Bank X times.
3. Sell X items on Black Lion Trading Post.
4. Vendor X items.
5. Touch a town NPC in an appropriate manner X times.

Thats a good start I suppose.

7 view x vistas
8 revive x npcs
9 buy x karma items
10 open x containers

11 speak to x laurel merchants
12 forge x items in the mystic toilet
13 win x times costume battle thingy…
14 enter your home instance x times
15 get x luck (u know that one from salvaging blues and greens..)

16 craft x items you can do it with luck from lvl 1 artificing

It’s harder to advise you not knowing the level of your character(s). I’m not good at jumping, and I only play PvE, and I don’t think I’ve missed getting monthlies yet. So it is certainly possible.
Kessex Hills is level 15 to 25 area, and it’s a good place to get champs. There’s no train really, but people call out the champ events as they happen. If you have any level 70’s, then there is a champ train frequently running in Frostgorge Sound. But if you have a character level 70 or higher, I would go to the Silverwastes. You can get a events and champions there.(and a lot of drops to salvage) I would salvage more than you sell, especially if there’s a salvage monthly . The Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic is a good deal.

m7, I see 6 options still of which you need to get 4.

It’s not hard at all.

and actually, daily is harder than monthly. Monthly you get 10 options, 3 of them are PVP/WvW and 1 is Jumping Puzzles of which you need to get 4, That’s 6 possibilities.

Do your dailies, join some champ trains or go to silverwastes, salvage the stuff you get, that takes care of 4 right there. Don’t even need to do fractals or dungeons then, and you’ll probably gain enough skill points and get enough scrolls to complete skill point amasser.

Dailies… 12 options, you need to complete 5. 4 of them are always PVP or WvW, and one might be daily story when you’ve completed all of the story, 1 might be jumping puzzle as it was today, 1 might be a dungeon or fractal, which you might say you can’t do because you’re too casual and grouping with other players is against your religion or whatever, and 1 might be daily activity which is too close to PVP because you have to compete with people.

That leaves you with 4 you can complete meaning you can’t complete dailies!

So’s y’know, because of t’ heavy influx of blues and greens from t’ new area, its more prof’table t’ salvage than sell. Ye shoul’ def’nitly git yer monthly salvage achievement.

What is this title? It should read “I cannot complete Monthly”. I am a PvE only player and have absolutely no problem completing them. I would have not issues with this thread if you had included some suggestions to improve the current system, but in this state it’s just another “whine-thread”.

I really thought the OP was trolling, it’s stupidly easy to get the monthly done with PvE only. I think the longest it’s taken me to get my monthly achieves done for reward is about 4 or 5 days, taking it very easy and letting stuff just ding over for itself.

So even if it takes you that long, you still got another 25 days to enjoy getting more achieves that might contribute to the monthly as well. They’re all AP’s.

I’m sorry OP but your post doesn’t make sense to me. You say PvE only can’t do the monthly unless you do jumping puzzles but you haven’t done the events and you have 5196 PvP monthly rank points. As a PvE only person, if you had spent that time doing events you would have had your monthly.

OP, even if you hate JPs, there are other achievements you can do by only doing PvE. Also, according to your screenshot, you need less than 20 events to be done; also, PvPers only have three achievements they can do only in PvP. Why exactly are you crying foul?

Dear OP, you can finish your monthlies in under 5 minutes:

• buy a stack of salvageable material from TP
• salvage
• sell the mats back to the TP at a very small loss
• if necessary, repeat

There’s your monthly salvages, you’re sorted for this month without even touching events or champions (or jumping puzzles, which, like other players have said, are in fact PvE content).

That’s as far as my charity goes, however, because I don’t feel that one has to Do It All. The game offers a variety of things to do from which one need only pick a subset suited to their preferences to get the same monthly reward; any subsequent achieves are gravy but hardly required.

I am PVE to the core…and have never yet completed a monthly achievement for JPs…and have never yet failed to get my monthlies done. Have to agree with most of the posters here. There is always plenty for PVE’rs in the buffet of monthly achieves.

…or maybe he is just logging in on the 28th to do his monthly, and is realizing that he will not be able to get the easy Monthly Completionist…. and instead must actually experience the game in some way shape or form.

And about YOUR Monthlies? You’re less than 900 glory or 18 events from it. That’s like 2 matches (3 tops if you really suck, and your 6 wins show that you don’t given you haven’t finsihed glory monthly) or 1 hour in Silverwastes/Dry Top (or 2 hours in any other map).

So why are you complaining?

But you still get achievement points from it. I finally got around to finishing my monthly puzzle jumper yesterday even though I already had the monthly completed for a while (thanks to the new Silverwastes map LoL).

There should be enough jumping puzzles for the monthly that are easy enough for most people. I will say that I had a lot of trouble when I first started playing this game. Some puzzles would take me hours or days to complete on my own and now those same puzzles only take me minutes. Though I have yet to complete the ‘Not so Secret’ JP without getting a mesmer portal to the chest. Someday I will though.

For this month (november):

Monthly Completionist: finish 4 daily achievements, that’s 1/4
Champion Slayer: join the frostgorge train, it should give you daily champions in a few days if only playing for a couple hours a day, 2/4
Skill Points Amasser: between the levels gained doing previous one plus scrolls of knowledge from champion bags should put you very close to getting this. Go around on maps doing skill challenges for the rest, 3/4
And by now you should be very close in monthly succesful events from 2, go to silverwastes and finish it quickly, 4/4

As an alternative, do some low level fractals, or buy stacks of salvagable gear (or craft them) for monthly salvager.

So there you go, full monthly without PvP or jumping at all. Actually I’d say it’s more PvP options where more are needed, a PvP only player couldn’t complete monthly without going to PvE, a PvE only one has more than enough to complete without ever touching PvP.

wait, wut? You only need four out of the bunch anyway. This means players who enjoy a variety of different things can get the monthly. You don’t have to do ALL of them to get monthly.

Besides, you might want to rethink AP farming. Once you reach 10k AP from monthly and dailies you stop amassing them anyway, so stretching that out is more meaningful in the long run. Means that every month, you’ll get a little something, something. If you just rushed the AP farm, the only way after that to get chests is to farm the other achievements which can get tedious quickly. Just ask anyone trying to get Giant Slayer. There are only 4 giants in the whole world that count towards that. One is the legendary in Dry top, second is a champion in a cave, third is the champion giant in the Nageling village event and the fourth is in Crucible of Eternity dungeon story mode. Even if you kill all of them, that’s doing the cycle 250 times before getting 1000 kills. Risen giants don’t count.

for jumping puzzle just do the jp in the southeastern corner of southsun cove. you can port right to it and it takes all of 12 seconds.
