I haven’t seen a Dev response on any post for 2 weeks. I’m betting they’re all away from home handling the China rollout. All we have is poor, overworked CC trying to keep things grouped into “official” threads so that they can be sorted through when the Devs get home.

I hope they only get 2 weeks vacation, and are back Monday. They have a lot of work ahead of them.

Am I wrong? Are they just ignoring us?

Side Note: This latest patch should be a lesson to the ANet team. Anyone who has had even a tiny bit of programming experience knows that instituting a lot of changes all at once is a recipe for disaster. They need to keep up with their 50MB here, 50MB there schedule. Keep It Simple. No more “Mega-Patches”. Regular tiny band-aids instead of occasional major surgeries. One thing at a time.

Sticking your hand into a feeding frenzy is never a good idea.

Time is needed to figure out what needs to change and what needs to stay the same. Some things players are complaining about should not be fixed. while other things have legitimate reasons to change. It would be nice if we could get a “we’re working on it”, but working carefully is much better than rushing out a fix that would just make things worse.

As for mega-patches these are actually better in a programming since the QA can lock down multiple issues that could have been put to the public. Put it simple What’s better? Having a lot of bugs at once then bug free for months, or bugs all the time as new things are added?

They are here, they are just not responding to the threads.

Go check the PvP area or just look at the Dev Tracker. They are getting responses. But anything here, nothing. So it’s not that they are gone, it’s just that they don’t want to respond.

Yes and yes.

I’m guessing a lot of them are on vacation for Easter. And those who aren’t probably won’t post without consulting the others. I imagine they have to coordinate a bit before posting for the sake of keeping a consistent and controlled public image of Anet.

Dev to community communication is very important.

One of the major reasons Warhammer Online was a huge failure. Besides a publisher forcing deadlines and threatening to fire people that didn’t do what they wanted.

I mean, the tone of your post (OP) doesn’t facilitate discussion. If I were a developer, I wouldn’t respond do you either.

P.S.: ALL we heard before this patch was “OMG 2 weeks so fast we need less frequent bigger content Anet sucks.” They responded by saying “Okay, we agree, 2 week minor content isn’t a good model,” and they’re presumably going to change it. Now you come in here claiming that their model was perfect and they should have stuck to it.

Puh-leeze.

I haven’t seen a Dev response on any post for 2 weeks.

Since 14 days ago puts you 2/3’s of the way down page 7 in the Dev tracker, perhaps you aren’t reading the right threads?

Right now is still the “speak before thinking” phase.
Anet is going to wait until it becomes “think before you speak” because that’s when the real feedback comes. That won’t happen for at least another week.

I feel like this post only spreads misinformation. Unless you know for a fact that the devs are all overseas (and I’m sure they’re not, there’s no reason for them to go. Everything can be done remotely anyway), this kind of thread does nothing.

Companies aren’t people. They can’t respond willy nilly. Whatever response is given has to be a response from the company as a whole. That takes times and that takes meetings and sometimes their are disagreements.

Because a company has to provide a unified front, they’re going to discuss what they post.

And a lot of issues WILL clear up on their own, like the myriad people who think they have less skill points at 80 because they didn’t understand or read the patch notes.

Not only that, it is unlikely that they would send that many people from that particular talent pool at once.

The unified front theory, I happen to agree with.

Technically speaking though, it is trait points I think you are referring to, not skill points, and they DO have less trait points. It just takes less of them to get to the same spot as more points did before.

Hamfast, you’re not going to get a response on your continued demands to change town clothes back or even restore part of that functionality. Because they’ve already given you their answer, and that answer is, “No.”

I’m coming back after a pretty long break, and while I see people complaining about the patch breaking their builds/classes and whatnot, that’s normal and doesn’t elicit the kind of urgent dev response that I’d like to see for, let’s say… the “improved” Trait system. With so many people visibly against the changes (well, at the very least, against moving the first Trait from 10 to 30 and adding a bunch of tedious unlock requirements), ANet should calm the fires a bit.

To clarify, I was looking through all the “official” threads that CC started that are always on the first two or three pages here in the Guild Wars 2 Discussion forum.

I follow the forums (certain areas) quite a bit. For the past two weeks the areas I follow have been dead silent despite thousands of player posts. This is not normal. I typically see several Dev posts a day. It could very well be that this particular forum has it’s Devs allocated elsewhere right now, while other forums are still at capacity. I dunno. But it has definitely been unnaturally silent here.

Even though the Devs aren’t currently answering, I trust that the Mods are keeping them informed of the sheer amount of concern in a lot of areas. Even if they don’t say anything one way or the other about any issues, it would be nice if somebody would pop into a few of the official threads here and at least say “Hi… I’m here. I’m listening”. Although I don’t expect anything over the weekend.

@Chemiclord: I’m gonna keep trying on the Town Clothes issue if you don’t mind. As I posted/predicted before the Patch, I have tons more support for my position, since people who don’t usually attend the forums feel the need to be heard now. And I ain’t heard no fat lady singin’.
