So how many characters do you have?
12 that I actively play at the moment. I’ve made about 40 more than that, but deleted them after level 20 or so for various reasons. I’m still making new ones though!
Edit: Edited to say, btw, your characters all look great!
Three. Two 80s, one which is like level 11. I only play my mesmer right now, got bored of guard.
Morrï (Mesmer) | Serah Mahariel (Guardian) | Morrï Mahariel (Warrior)
“colesy’s on rampage today. Slaying casuals left, right and centre” – spoj
2: My first is a Mesmer and my alt is a Guard (which I’m loving a lot, Mesmer gets stale after too much play XD)
Will I make more – probably. But I will not do what I did in skyrim after I finished most of it…. so… many…. characters o.0
12 presently…. between 2 accounts. Should have the full 16 here in a couple of months
Currently 5, but I really only play my main, a war. Got my necro alt to 80, my ranger alt is mid 40s, ele alt mid 50s, and I haven’t touched my last one really. I’ll most likely get another 3-4 slots if they ever go on sale again, so I have get 1 of each prof to 80. But really 95%+ of my time is on my main.
@Wallace; Origionally I wanted the extra three slots to get one of every class. Then I needed an extra one because I didn’t want to count my ‘selfy’ character.. And then it kept growing and growing… And at one point I was counting towards to of every class. But lost count with my new four babies. We’ll see~ |D
Only 4. Human warrior (level 80, exotics/ascended), Charr elementalist (level 80, exotics), Norn engineer (level 15) and asura necromancer (level 8 ).
Human Guardian (Main)
Sylvari Ranger (Secondary)
Norn Necro (Currently playing to level up)
Asuran Mesmer (just for kicks and giggles)
Human Thief (Assassin’s creed itch scratched)
Sylvari Elementalist (Why did I have to watch Avatar The Last Airbender while doing this one?!)
Charr Warrior (Blood for the Blood Legion)
Charr Engineer (Sprockets for the Tank tread!)
Eventually I’ll get more, but I want at least 4 up to level 80 before then. At the moment two are at 80, halfway there.
Had 10 80s for a while. One of each, 2 thieves, and 2 rangers only b/c I wanted different armor.
@Atlas; Oooooh Avatar eh? Pictures or it didn’t happen. c;
@Essence; I understand that, it’s why I ended up having duplicates too. Especially with all these pretty Gem Store outfits coming out too!

When I get home I’ll post, he’s still lower leveled but I’m getting the armor close to what I want.
He’s a free spirited Elementalist who loves air magic. Kind of fitting for a Sylvari since some just want to experience the new world they awoke in.
Here’s how he started to look:

I created atleast 30 characters in my Account Lifetime until I found the composition
that satisfies me. Also I’m very weird with my characters. I have feelings for them and created Backstorys for every single one.
So here’s my A Team of Characters, all ready to kill dragons.
Well not really, only 3 of them are, but I’m working on that!
From Top to Bottom:
1. Filthy Bob, Warrior: My Main, I’m very proud of the look I gave him. His Name is a Covername he got to work Undercover between Bandits for the Seraph. He kept his Name and is known for boldness in Battle, even though nobody really knows his real Name.
2. Schattenkoyote, Thief: His Name is German for Shadowcoyote, a nickname he got from one of the members of his old warband.
3. Wächterorchidee, Guardian: Her Name is German for Guardianorchid, as she is a beauty that protects this world because of her unending love to it.
4. Willow of Sorrow, Necromancer: He felt his relationship to death in the moment the air of tyria filled his lungs. He gave himself this name to show his enemies why he is to fear.
5. Sparkling Disguise, Mesmer: This lovely Girl has a big history of crimes against Kryta, despite being of high birth, she stole from the rich to fill her own pockets. But she soon realised that she can be more than a Thief who works with Illusions, but it would be to risky to use her real name, so she continued under the name that she was known for in the scene of thieves.
6. Eila Frosthorn, Ranger: She has only one Goal in her steady aim, and that is hunting the biggest Dragon the world has ever seen, chopping his head of and present it in Hoelbrak. She hunts with furry, but never underestimates her Pray. And anything between her bow and her Destiny is Pray. Her Wolf Snowprowler is always behind her.
7. Kudu’s Apprentice, Elementalist: Fascinated by Kudus discoveries, this little Asura tries to copy what his Idol has done. He wants to gain power by using the Magic of the Dragons, but he would rather work together with the Inquest than Zojja and his Krewe full of Skrittbrains, they are only slowing him down.
8. Razza, Engineer: This energyball is a master at working fast and precise, building insane creations out of nowhere. She is to become the greatest inventor in tyria, planning to build a Portal to the Moon, but she hasn’t quite figured out the Code for that.
@Wallace; Origionally I wanted the extra three slots to get one of every class. Then I needed an extra one because I didn’t want to count my ‘selfy’ character.. Nice to find out that I am not the only one calling my low level alts babies! Currently I have 18 characters, with plans for number 19. I am not yet sure where it will end for me. And yes, I do play them all.
Edit: A bit more info incoming. 9 of them are level 80 and currently leveling an engineer next. 8 characters have finished the personal story. My profession breakdown looks like: 2 elementalists, 2 thiefs, 3 engineers, 3 necromancers, 3 mesmers, 2 warriors, 2 rangers and 1 guardian with number 19 planning on becoming a guardian.
(edited by Esya.3427)
One (1), Ranger since beta headstart, never made any others.
Asura Guardian (main)
Sylvari Mesmer (second main)
Human Mesmer (tertiary)
The rest: Human Ranger, Asura Engineer, Human Necro, Norn Warrior, Norn Elementalist, Sylvari Ranger
Ten. Six of them are level 80. The seventh is a level 42. And the 8th is only at level 3. The other two I have rolled to play later. One of them held my dungeon tokens but now that is out. The other of these two hold crap that I don’t like cluttering up my bank. So those two are basically mules.

Ah nice. Heh, I can see how some people love alts. For me it’s mostly to try out the other professions (and learn their skills a bit better so I know what they can do in groups or how to fight against them), plus to see the other race/order stories. I’m mostly an RPG player, and a selfish one at that, so usually I funnel all of the best gear/stat increasing items to the “main” character. So playing Alts in general don’t really do it for me.
Though I loved the idea of my sylvari necro, a race of creatures that love to see and experience new things, and I’d surround her with dead things….and give her a princess wand. It was somewhat spoiled when I realized that Trahearne was a necro too. I don’t hate him like most, but he didn’t leave an impact on me. Hell I didn’t even realize his class despite having to fight along side him.

Ahhhhh well isn’t he lovely? But ah I have that feeling of most Sylvaris I see~ Curious to see what he’ll be like when his high leveld~~

Eeeee this is reasurring to me! I don’t have fully planned out little stories (or not very legit ones) but they do all have their own likes, dislikes, personality quirks and the like so I guess that counts? Like Voele letting her hair grow out~ //grin

Aha yep yep. All my characters are my babies, and even though I don’t have some anymore I still adore each and everyone. I’m proud I finally have two level 80’s, I’ve never hit level cap in any game (even GW1!) so the fact I have two beauties makes me very pleased moma~

I guess my only main is just my selfy character. I love being able to switch from one to the other (depending on my mood and what not) and just all my other characters are my second mains? C’:
Except some I play better than others. I’m pretty bad at Thief and Elemnetalist, and sometimes Warrior so they only get played a little less because of me struggling with it. v u v
Phew so many replies aha~~ //first time using forum properly and all is going well~
You are not alone, I currently have 8 (I plan on more), 3 of which are level 80 some are low level that I mainly use for sPvP but still level them up here and there, I am not one to rush the leveling process, it took me 2 1/2 months to get my first guy to 80.
1) Charr Engineer- 80 (my main)
2) Charr Warrior -80 ( my second main if I am allowed to have 2)
3) Charr Mesmer – 80
4) Charr Ranger – under 80
5)Charr Necromancer – under 80
6)Charr Elementalist – under 80
7) Charr Engineer – under 80
8) Sylvari Guardian – under 80
so yeah, I like charr ^.^
Nice pictures by the way
Edit: after work ill get screens shots of some of them

I usually have lots of alts in any game I play…except GW2. The leveling is just too boring for me. So I have 1 level 80 and two characters that are level 3 or 4. Which is very few indeed for an altoholic.
10 i think. Can screenshot them all later and upload here.
Totaling all my character’s levels equals 374. I’ll let people guess if they want.
8 – 4 of them are 80, 2 of them are in their 60’s, 1 is 30, and the other I just remade.
Out of all those I have not leveled a Charr or Sylvari yet so I will need at least one more slot because the one I just remade is a Charr.
Seven, with six 80s that all get time in WvW.
Two. mez and ranger, not interested in any other class.
8. 4 are 80, 4 are between 72 and 75, one for each profession. I don’t see why I should make more characters with same professions. Of course a different race would be maybe interesting, but leveling it till 80 is boring. Not again.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
5…
Guardian
Warrior
Ranger
Ele
Mes
Eight. One of each.
I curently have 8 characters, one of each class and leveled to 80, I’m actually tempted to make another Necro (but I don’t think I will) because I love the T1 Norn cultural armor. I’m actually waiting for more races/classes to be released (especially Tengu and would love Chronomancer as a class). Here’s a little gallery of my characters so far : http://imgur.com/a/fQ6wC#0

I have seven characters right now:
Charr Guardian, 80
Norn Warrior, 80
Norn Ranger, 80
Sylvari Ranger, 36
Human Thief, 2
Charr Engineer, 2
Asura Elementalist, 2
And honestly I hope to get a few more character slots too.

I wish I had the time/patience to acquire dungeon armor, your characters have a lot of personality in their appearence~~ The gent at the beginning especially.

Haha I think that would be a tad bit more than I’d like to spend. It would probably be some kind of record though.
2… Level 80 Necro human female, which was my first character. I don’t really play her a lot anymore, but I can’t bear to delete her because she was “my first”. Level 80 Warrior human female. LOVE to play this character.
I have made and deleted at least a dozen others of different races/classes, but I also find leveling up super boring. You have no health, nothing good to fight with, and have to do the same stuff over and over for little reward UNTIL you get to 80…. yawn. For now, I’m having fun with my warrior and I’m still learning ways to equip her and how to synergize everything for the best effects.

8, one of each character class, will only have more than that if they release new character classes…
Doesn’t look likely however, with no expansion planned the next year or so…

Ahah yeah, I’m not really into dungeon but it was one of the only armor (with crafted lv40) I thought would look great for an Engineer, also it’s the CoF armor so it didn’t take that much time (It took 5 to 10 minutes per run and I didn’t do that all day so it took about a week I think, plus I made some gold in the process). For my characters I always know where I want to go with their look before actually creating them (I think of a background for them, a personnality, etc… I’m not a role player but I like to have a story in mind for them) I also try to stay true to their classes as much as possible.
As for my mesmer, a lot of thought went into his look because he is my main.
80 Asuran Guardian
38 Human Ele (going to craft this to 80 soon)
14 Human Ranger
7 Human Engineer (leveling this after the Ele)
6 Human Thief
Eventually I’ll get one of each class, I guess.

Well according to this link there is no set cap (found it on the wiki) Also I have seen a screen shot of someone with 37 slots so I think we can go crazy

which I got from: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Talk:Character_Slot_Expansion
also his page on the wiki says no cap

I’ve got 6 characters right now. 5 level 80 characters and one level 26 character, none of them completely geared in exotics.
At some point I plan on getting at least 8 (one for each profession) but right now I’m not in a position to want to make the others. Waiting for either new races or just for me to finish up all my current characters (level and gear-wise, not that I’d “finish” and stop playing them or anything).
I have 3, 1 lvl80, 2 others just some random low levels.
Im the kind of person that gets instantly bored of things I have already seen/done. My lvl80 is a norn thief, and although I like norn area, it gets kinda boring for me after a while.
I think the Sylvari areas wins the competition though when it comes to most boring zone(s) in the game.
As you can understand, Im not the kind of person that lvls alts, like ever.
10, 5 level 80s, 2 level 17s, 1 level 19, and 2 level 1s. 9 charr 1 asura
lately though i havent played my baby alts as i have been doing dungeons, and i have gotten very bored of the same areas and crafting.
names in order
1. Sparky Silentwalk 2. Molocia Fleetfoot 3. Zecora Witchfire 4. Macha Nightspear
5. Enid Silentfoot 6. Miamora Cadence 7. Lyra Redheart 8. Caelia Brokensoul
9. Gaia Brokenhammer 10. Yamato Skytalon
The shoulder pads on your 9th character :/ Anet really needs to do something about those kind of issues.
I have one level 80.
I have one of each class created at launch but not played since.
The shoulder pads on your 9th character :/ Anet really needs to do something about those kind of issues.
Really hard with all the body types they gave. They should have a graphic for each piece for each race. If equipped by Charr use model/texture F… that kind of thing. Still, very hard to go back and implement retroactively.
Used to have quite a few till they got deleted . Right now I only have two , an Asuran engineer and a Human necromancer .
Characters I used to have ;
- Charr engineer and Norn warrior : They were big and was causing problems in jumping puzzles .
-Norn Ranger : Same as above
-Sylvari ranger and elementalist : Deleted for nerfs and armors not fitting the theme .
-Human assassin and mesmer ; Assassins die too much in PvE and mesmers can get you stuck in wierd places when switching places with clones .

Don’t think the community has found that limit yet (if it exists ).
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Maximum-number-of-character/first#post2616757
I have 7 characters.
Human mesmer(80), necro(30-ish), and guardian(80).
sylvari ele(80) and sylvari ranger(60-ish)
asura engi(60-ish) and asura thief(80).
I’m going for one of each class, eventually. I think when I finally get around to it i’ll make my warrior a norn, i’m not a big fan of charr.
I have 5 permanent characters (human ranger, charr thief, norn engineer, sylvari elementalist and asuran guardian) and a 6th slot for making random extra ones for things like trying out personal story options.
I might one day have one of each class, but I’m not in any hurry because I don’t really have time for all the characters I have and I’m not that keen on the other professions.
