Hi , wings are very popular vanity item in several other games. Can we please implement some wings into gw2. Maybe an angel white glow set and devil fire set. Would keep with the halo/horns theme. Or. A set of wings we can dye to our color style liking.

Option to dye 3 colors would be nice if you wanted to only design one style wing.

Yes, yes, yes please. Not that big though (the current dragon wings are properly sized IMO), and not constantly flapping as dragon wings but properly animated like cloth.

I’m a little bit unsure though, I think the way ArenaNet handles back items isn’t good enough. They disappear if you got kits like Engineer, or if you got a shield. The back items still bugs when I grab my shield from my back, the item itself follows to the arm where my shield is and then slides back to the back, and it looks really ugly.

I think ArenaNet have to fix and work much more surrounding the back items before they add much bigger stuff and effects like those wings.

Also, anyone remember Warlock Tier 6 from World of Warcraft? Well, I liked that effect, you know, where the wings appear and flaps and then fades away.

No wings…pls no wings…i always hated wings in a game wehre you can’t fly,for me even the wings we have now are just … not appropriate to the world.
It does not fit with the world.

Only in the gem store for the cost of gem transfer to a high pop server.

IMO, wings are overdone, clutter and clip. Also stamps out individuality cause everyone and their mother will be trying to get wings or be wearing them.

In fact OP, you can go to the mounts discussions and see how that has worked out.

PWI? Lol. I’ve seen those so much it’s annoying. But, I guess its an okay idea.

Or as a costume maybe, as Guild Wars 1 did. You could wear this in combat also.

We’ve got like, 3 items that looks like wings, and 2 of them almost looks the same.

Every other back piece looks different.

I would prefer more “realistic” or “down to earth” style equipment in this game. When you shower the game in flashy, over-the-top stuff like zodiac armor, halos, angel wings, glowing legendary weapon auras, etc… you really diminish what makes them special.

If everyone in the world is special, then no one is special because we all have the same status of being special, which is the opposite of the definition of special.

Hehehehe fellas ????. We Ladies love wings. Maybe few don’t but most players are into vanity and customizing gears to their liking. Could offer wings and those who want do achieves or gem while others who don’t offer something else .

It’s just a nice touch.

I was fine with the holographic wings. They make sense, they’re holograms. You can make a hologram of anything.

Not so much with the sunless wings. They look like actual flesh-and-blood (decayed flesh, but still) wings, flapping and all. Which makes much less sense, what, did your character just suddenly grow real wings? Is there some insane Necromancer attaching undead wings to people?

I would apply the same “rules” to future wings. Holograms? Sure. Why not. Magic “wings” that aren’t really wings at all, but just arcs of magic in the shape of wings? Sure. Even robotic wings would be fine. Actual wings that look like flesh and feathers or whatever? I’d rather leave those out, they don’t make a whole lot of sense.

ROSE online had some really neat back pieces as well. I havent seen a game with nearly as many options as that game. They also had some really awesome masks you could wear with helmets all were crafted by players and sold to players or rare drops.

Not a fan of them. I don’t think fits here and massive wings all over the place is going to make visual clutter worse. I think its fine in games where you can actually fly with them but otherwise it just seems tacky and overdone to me. To each there own. I’m not against them, I would just rather some grounded back pieces.

LOL PWI Wings… those are used for actual flying and yes they are huge. I have those on my Cleric, lol. I’m not against more wings. I rock my Shatterer-ish Wings on my Guardian still to this day. I say, more options is never a bad thing.

I’m all for more vanity back pieces. Wings are a classic mainstay of fantasy games, so while some might say they are overdone, I still see nothing wrong with having them.
That being said, is it at all possible to have them respond a bit to how your character moves?
The Spinal Back piece for example. I rather do enjoy the look of that, and I like how the arms move a bit. But, could it be possible for them to move like they did on the Watchknights while they stood there before the events started? I simply loved the way they showed them off while just idling there.

I found the dragon wings we got so far ridiculous and small. If angel/demon wings were indeed added, at least make them big enough to make some sense.

So long as I can turn backpack visulization off on my client I am fine with the idea, some sort of toggle in the options screen.

The wings of a baby dragon were cut off in flight. The flapping is caused by the nerve impulses still twitching. Alternatively, you may assume a little engineering was used to continue the support of those impulses or the entire thing is just the skin wrapped around a mesh which is mechanical.

This game is so visual stunning, amazing views, great detail,etc. but gear wise they need to revamp and/or add to.

You all make very good points coming from different views is nice to see. When you play these type games for long periods of time I feel like it needs to also replace gears aesthetics to keep it fresh. Adding things like wings would be for those who seek to have more variety in gears.

I’ve thought for a while to have other type back pieces not just wings. Just have something that is visually attractive. There’s plenty of back pieces they offered us and many agreed were ugly or not sized appropriately. How can we have such different size characters and one size fits all back piece ??? That doesn’t even make sense and lacks attention to detail.

Such big, no thank you. The ones we’ve gotten already are big enough IMHO, I’d just like to have non flapping versions of them.

I have never played Aion and just looking at those pictures says that the glowing effects will be rough on the servers, you might as well fill a map with 500 people stacked with multiple legendary auras. I’ve walked next to a person like that in LA before it got sieged, lagged just from that person standing near me.

Wouldn’t capes/cloaks be nicer? Way more fitting than transparent flapping Christmas trees. With wings like that you’re begging to be turned into a jumbled, clipping mess with glowing effects.

You can’t even fly in GW2, it’s like buying an air plane just to drag it around town.

Don’t turn this into Perfect World International, go make an elf and waste hundreds of dollars on RNG lucky chests for gigantic flashing multicolored lightbulb wings. Leave the transparent wings for Dwayna and her avatars.

• 2 of 3 available wings are almost identical blue skin.

Sorry, but server-wise, having or not having any cosmetic item is as much as having “00101011” synced with client instead of “00101110”. It’s your PC performance issue only.

As a side note, having epic wings would make an ideal Legendary backpack and will actually encourage me to start working on a legendary (none of which I like at the moment).

I definitely think this is a good idea ,because it’s very popular and wanted item in a mmorpg. Although its hard to make it and to design it. It just really fits the halo/hprm theme. So you got my vote!

It should not be that big though, could affect PvP and WvW

I…I don’t know. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the wings, but too many won’t look very GW2-ish. Only after I found out the original GW Raiment of the Lich were included with wings, it fits in.

These black wings and a white version would be plenty enough. Overly glitterfying it and upscaling the size is going to make it look gaudy and awful. If they add demon wings, oversized angel wings, or sci-fi robotic wings, I’m gonna start questioning where the heck a flock of succumbi, non-dwayna archangels and fantasy synthetic soldiers are doing in DR.
