Anet have stabbed those who trusted their word on no grinding in the back and simultaneously taken a huge dump on those with alts.

I didn’t buy the game to be left grinding forever.

I guess you can’t do level 50+ FotM w/o spending your wallet dry. That’s the only thing I cant think of that you can’t do.

Also, has anyone ever thought that part of the joy of having BiS gear is that not everyone has them? It was certainly one of the reasons why I chased after BiS in other MMOs. I was fine with cosmetics being the new ‘BiS’ gear, but apparently a lot of players weren’t.

Realistically, combat in this game is designed such that stats are a relatively small part of the game. Your stat combination may be significant, depending, and of course “better” gear means faster runs, but you can do everything that matters in simple rare gear, with the exception of higher level fractals due to agony resistance.

Having maximum stats isn’t something you can’t DO. You don’t do stats. There’s no content in the game, ie stuff you can play, that you must have ascended armor for. Maybe, MAYBE a level 50 fractal, but I’m not even sure about that.

In theory you could grind lower level fractals forever, till you had enough infusions to not need ascended armor.

The point is, though, saying max stats is content, because in other games people want BIS gear is ridiculous.

Because in most other games that gear is required to clear content. In some games its required to even attempt content.

this post is indeed a provocation, without any real possibility of discussion.

You might be having a chuckle now, but when they start the infusion slot stat grind:

+5 for each slot now, then +7, then +10, etc. you might not be so happy.
