This is disturbing...
Seems like you aren’t the only person who feels like this:

Now HoT has been out a while things have settled down and Arena Net have unsurprisingly gone back to their traditional silence and ignoring community concerns.
Arena Net has always been horrendous at community relations, unfortunately they will not change it as they do not see it as broken.

There has been some. However, with Thanksgiving in the US it is likely that this past week they took off of work (which is not uncommon). But they are and do remain active,

Pretty sure everyone on the forums feels like this.. Wheres all the gem money going? Obviously not wages ayylmao feels like Anet consist of 5 people who don’t have enough time to talk to their players. Must be drowning in all that content devlopment
the original dab daddy
From what I understand they post more on reddit than on here. No idea why.

I would like to think they are active, but they don’t appear to be. Not in these forums anyways.

I’ll have you know about 4,000 people are watching the Pro League right now!

Is that a good number? I mean, I have no frame of reference here. That sounds less like a “pro” turnout and more like a crowd at a high school football game.
Though, it boggles my mind that even 1 person would want to watch someone play a video game for any length of time.

Well, it gets them to about 21st spot on Twitch, despite the claims of them being a Top 20 mainstay. If you want to compare it to say LoL, Dota or CS:GO they usually get anywhere between 150,000-250,000 people watching.
Let’s just say there are around the same amount of people watching one person play H1Z1 right now.

Holy crap! I had no idea about those numbers. Wild.
I think those numbers are low though, plus it doesn’t factor in people watch LoL through Youtube as well.
When there’s lot of questions and issues in this game after the expansion release.
To not have a dialogue with the community is really bad. Arenanet don’t go in EA footsteps… we deserve better. Or atleast that’s what I think after this contentlacking 50€ expansionpack.
They usually post on Reddit. Players I can understand since Reddit has lots of player based sub-Reddits where they’re outside the eye of official forum moderators. Can’t infract someone outside your jurisdiction right? But devs…I really can’t understand.
Keep in mind that they’re actually working on the game and sometimes can’t post here (or Reddit).
Probably because 90 percent of the topics on the forums are just copies of month/year old topics that have alrdy been addressed or discussed a milion times that the OPs refuse to do research on or are completely opinionated rants that dont really warrant a response from anet
Also things like talking about balance changes or the implementation of certain things in the game dont need anet to stay in constant contact with the players because these things are constantly changing behind the scenes, and the last thing they want or need is to say something prematurely on the forums only to have it change befor its implemented and have a hord of bloodthirsty forum warriors quoting some devs post and throwing it in their face if its not EXACTLY what they said befor.
Makes sense that they may have gone quiet for one week, seeing as how there is that Thanksgiving thing going on.

Tex, stop it.
Took the money and ran. Just standard practices nowadays
Isn’t there a big pro league going on? Probably most their times are committed to promoting and making that a success above everything else. I always found Anet to be more communicative to their community than other developers. Probably wait until the Pro league is over to see, what happens.
I would not be surprised to discover that there was a big work crunch (double shifts, 7 day work weeks, etc) leading up to the release of HoT. Then there would have been a crush to try catching as many immediately game breaking bugs as possible as soon as possible after HoT launch.
Between the Thanksgiving holiday and some much needed rest (perhaps even vacation) time post launch, I am not at all surprised that there is a drought of, or delay in, dev forum activity.
I may not be happy with the current direction of the game but I do hope that the devs have had an opportunity to relax, spend some quality time with family, and perhaps even eat more pumpkin pie than they should have.
Anet too busy making ads on our loading screens for some pvp esport thing.
