I Hate Dumb Teams – nec
Q:
Hi I’m Aeryn.
I play this game because I like the combat mechanics of pvp. The class balancing sux but the combat I like a lot.
How about you?
yours truly,
Aeryn
The originality and departure from traditional MMOs.
Quaggans + 15 char
The lore and setting are the same as my favorite game ever, and lots of people still play this one.
The combat all round, the wallet system the holiday events. The fact they are not invalidating my gear by raising the level cap.
The cooperative nature. No kill steals, node steals, loot steals. Along with superb art and a lot of humor, it makes for a game that makes me happy about other human beings.
I like the fact that it’s perfect for a casual gamer.
I work full time, lots of time with fiance. This is the only mmo besides old Runescape that I can log into for an hour or 2 a night and accomplish things. Not spend a huge amount of time in queues or anything. Just simply play
I enjoy so many things about this game. For one, I am a casual player as well. I can sometimes only get on for an hour a night or so because I run a pretty busy schedule. I love how I can get on and just relax and play though. There is no big rush to do anything, and the game is very versatile allowing me to play pvp one night and pve the next night if I wanted to.
This might be trivial, but I love the music in the game. It does not get old fast like some games, and unless I am on Skype I usually have the game volume on. The graphics are also great and a lot better than most MMOs.
I love being able to play any class with any race without being forced to heal or tank. Each class has a substantial amount of survivability. My favorite is still my charr ranger. =P
Casual relaxing game I don’t have to invest a lot of time into and the combat is more intersting than traditional mmos. Also waiting for Black Desert while this game slowly gets more and more boring.
I liked that it promoted the better aspects of players by ending kill steals.
Assisting other players is always a positive.
I already knew the lore/universe, and I know this game/don’t have to learn how to play.
Lack of subscription. I like the Developers/their vision.
I can get anything in-game without the need to spend real cash, if I so desire.
It’s always available/little to no downtime.
Most importantly, I can play it with Master. =)
being able to play as a big monster kitty, it’s the only reason i play this dying game :x
Before the expansion, the near continuous story, special, and seasonal updates. Always something new.
- The combat and lack of dedicated roles.
- No shared loot or resource nodes.
- The animations are great. My characters feel like they have weight to them, and I love that they have separate animations when running and jumping, and when standing still and jumping. Most games don’t have this, or does it poorly.
- Lastly, the ability to mix-and-match armor, though I’m a little disappointed with the selection at the moment.
Animations are great, I’ve literally been stuck in the Pvp area for the last two years and finally decided to peak around the world getting map completion.
The art style is very unique and all round looks amazing, I often feel in Mmos that the scenery is just there to complete a map and not really have a purpose. In this game the mobs and the locations look like they should be there and this helps immersion.
I like the reward track system, although i play allot I just mess around mainly in pvp and been able to earn money and gear from that is a real plus. Although i don’t like the disenchanting so much ha, and my chest clicking finger is so muscular now that it may break kitten through my desk.
As mentioned above I like the cooperative nature and not needing a group whilst helping people out is great plus. And lastly I’ve always liked Guild wars armor, my favorite part of the first game was farming that special armor.
The combat system, the cooperative nature of PvE, the wardrobe/dye system, jumping puzzles, some of the mini game type stuff like guild rushes, no gear treadmill, no required grinding, the beauty of the world/graphics, the fun/hidden stuff, the idea that after almost 3 years of pretty much constant play, I’m still discovering new things.

i like the combat, classes, art style, build system and my pals.
pvp balance could be better, and there could be more pvp modes but its pretty good right now. the balance is not as bad as people think once you’ve adapted your build and play.
Funny enough some of the things I’ve complained about are also the things I like the most.
I like the active combat, the art, no gear treadmill, no level increase, casual pve, the story, which is something I never gave a fair chance, but now I really enjoy it. Overall I really like that I could stop playing for a year and jump right back in and be at the same gear level as everyone else. Not having to commit a ton of time to the game is what draws me back time after time.
1) No Tank
2) Combat style
3) Casual
4) living world
5) no gear treadmill
6) exploring map
7) buy to play
8) cosmetic, especially legendary gears are optional
9) DE or chain event like SW
The main thing I like the game for is the storyline. I also like dungeons and fractals, world bosses and other open pve in general. I also play pvp occasionally but I do not enjoy that quite as much.
No kill stealing, no node stealing, I can play with a friend and not have to alternate node tapping, no gear treadmill, quasi-action combat (little to no “rooted by skill use”), I bought the game rather than bought it and need to rent it also, most enjoyable play of any MMO (sometimes), I can ignore the meta and not feel like I’m missing the best parts of the game, non-intrusive cash shop, lore connections to GW, the art, and the fluidity of movement in the character models.

Combat and combos. So you can say i am a mechanics type of player so some like MH DS or any thing with a hit box and the abitly to avoid / miss with the hit box with added twist when attks are chained from others or the same person. So no RNG for hit % if your wepon or effect makes contact with a mob / players hit box it should always hit.
I really enjoy the fact that the races aren’t the typical fantasy races such as dwarf, elf, etc, etc. and they give REASONS why some of those races don’t exist, like the dwarves.
Additionally I love doing map completions in low-level zones and seeing everyone help one another. Just yesterday I saw players saying how much better of a community this is than the WoW community. Makes me smile
I like the combat system and setting up combos, especially as an ele. The play style is very fluid.
Also the graphics and the fluidity of how the characters move, and how you can still cast while moving and the animation just works.
I tried a couple of the more “modern” MMOs and they just were awful in comparison in this respect (even just simple things like walking around).
The artwork is gorgeous too.
I also like that it is a fairly casual game, and buy to play.
Lots of things.
Top of the list for me has to be the lack of a subscription fee and the casual friendly nature of the game (I think these two things go hand in hand). I’m an adult with an unpredictable work schedule and all kinds of other things that come up, so I can’t depend on having hours every day to play, or even time in each week.
In many MMOs that would mean I’m forever behind everyone else, will probably never have top tier equipment, never do at least some of the end-game content etc. In GW2 it takes me longer but because they don’t keep adding new levels, new tiers, new gated content etc. I can catch up eventually.
I also like that Tyria is not your typical fantasy world. No it’s not totally original (you’d have a hard time finding one that is) but it’s different enough that it makes it interesting to explore the lore because I don’t know what I’m going to find in advance.
There’s tons of other things too, I love the art style, I find the combat system fun, and I love all the detail they put into the world. The fact that it’s hard to find a genuinely empty corner of the map, there’s always NPCs to listen/talk to, jumping puzzles and mini dungeons hidden away, and if an area looks empty there’s probably going to be an event there sooner or later.
I really like what it could be!
Everything that promotes cooperative gameplay. Sharing nodes/loot, combo finishers, resurrecting downed players, etc. The generally friendly community. And the wardrobe/dye system for easy in-game cosplay!
I only play this game to WvW with my friends and family, although I am able to do so with only part of my family currently due to my sister not being able to get on my server, so we are looking for other games that we can play together on currently since we really have no interest in PVE content. I Honestly would be happy if I never had to interact with an NPC ever, and would rather the players make the story than have it written for us.. LOL
What I like about GW2 the most is the large scale PvP, the larger the better. 3 way massive brawls that go on for hours. I like how the targets in wvw can be attacked from multiple directions and that the maps are not linear or choke pointed, allowing for better game play. If nothing else, the EoTM maps should be killed with fire for that reason. The best fights are when you are being double teamed outnumbered in your garrison with all the walls and gates down and you are fighting in lords for hours from all directions without siege. That way if you win you feel like you earned it.
I like the combat system, the art direction, and the business model. I used to like the formerly cooperative nature of open world gameplay.
i just enjoy the game myself fully for what it is . and like the fact i can take off by myself . and go all over the place if i like and not care and enjoy the game music and the game to for that matter . and not have to deal with some useless not need voice game chat in my ears while trying to play hearing more then useless talk . about how the game does not have this or they do not like that about the game . i just hop on and go go go . and always find something new to enjoy .
I like a lot of things about GW2 – it’s right in the sweet spot for me in many ways.
so many things!
to list a few (in no particular order):
.cool graphics
.beautiful places
.handsome characters (specially males, females are almost always beautiful in most MMOs)
.jumping puzzles
.easily changeable skills and builds
.world events and bosses
.lgbt inclusion
Combat system and cooperative open world. Thats about it.
I have tried a lot of MMOs and this is one of the few that doesnt hurt my head and haves a decent game mechanics on the top. WoW is best in spirit but it is outdated.
The cooperative nature. No kill steals, node steals, loot steals. Along with superb art and a lot of humor, it makes for a game that makes me happy about other human beings.
This and the way the combat is going with dodging and stuff.
Too many things to list in one post. Highlights are the combat both for PvP and PvE, event system, co-op nature of play, the character customisation and development and the attention to detail. I even like the loading screens, a lot of them for a few maps and personal stories are beautiful, some in dark or ominous ways but I love it.

The way it looks.
The fact I can, at least, play an animal pet class (however imperfect).
WvW can be quite fun.
That’s about it, really.
The fact it totally puts off people, who prefer to play ranged, by penalising their damage, is amateurish and a great shame.
I know the last one is a “what do you really hate” answer, but I couldn’t resist.

#¤List has been stolen!#¤
I am gonna steal your list and change some things, so it fits what I like. It is a nice list.
I Bolded the Edited and added parts.
Another one to add to the list (although I’m sure someone else has already said it): Genuinely cooperative PvE.
You never have to worry about another player stealing your kills, or gathering nodes or credit for the quest you’re doing and often having complete strangers around is very helpful.
For example just now I died in the north west corner of Brisban Wildlands, at 9am on a Sunday morning. It’s not peak time, it’s a remote area of a mid-level map and I’m not near any of the gathering nodes which are the only reason most people visit this area. I go to make a cup of tea and come back to find an anonymous stranger has taken the time to go out of their way to resurrect me, for absolutely no benefit to themselves except a tiny bit of XP and maybe the knowledge that they’re reinforcing that it’s simply what you do in this game.
