I am from Europe too and don’t see this issue at all.
Patches and updates have always been some time in the evening. Was in GW1 and so it is here in GW2. Actually kinda like it, because then if I have things to do during the day I can do so and still be back before the update hits. Only a few times it have been so late that I was better off going to sleep and see the new stuff in the morning and well… that is ok too… unless it is a one time only event with no repeats (which only happened once and was such fail that Anet wont do it again I am sure) I am not really missing anything.

I guess you are right but I travel tomorrow and have to get ready tonight. But I guess it’s not Anets fault.

Why do you need to play the update the second it comes out? If anything, be glad you DON’T get the chance to. ArenaNet will always, always release a buggy patch that takes a few days to fix.
I live in Europe, I don’t mind having the updates around 19.00 – 21.00 as it is now. It’s perfect for Work and school.

Yeah .. i’m from Germany and like the times. When i come home from work i can have a break, do some RL stuff .. and then mostly we got the patch. I really like it that way
It was also perfect when i played Champions Online where the servers were normally down for 3-4 hours before that patch, and at 18:00 at our time when i was home from work servers also came up again.

I’m in the UK and I love the time difference. I get to do the update at around 5.00pm usually, ideal for me, I leave it dl-ing over dinner and it’s ready for me later on when I’d be playing anyway.
Also, I keep Pacific Time and Eastern Time displayed in the bottom of my browser (I use FoxClocks in FF), very handy, not just for gw2 but loads of other things I use that are based in the US. It really needn’t be a problem in this day and age, although I’m very envious of Ozzies who live in the future lol

i too would like to know this, i planned to go to uni all day and be back after 10-11 (patches usually take me 1-2 hour to download). So right now im sitting about at home waiting to log in so i can get my freebie trans crystals
There’s 24 hours in a day. There’s still 15hours left in the day in the timezone Anet is in. Anytime within those 24 hours is still “on time”. Just because they don’t schedule their releases around your work and leisure time schedule or your own personal timezone doesn’t mean they are late or breaking promises.
If anything, you all are overreacting 15 hours before the deadline for the end of the day.
It will be here when Anet feels like it is ready to be released. There was a patch a few back that got delayed several hours due to last minute issues. People started freaking out and complaining like crazy because of their personal time zone. This is a big patch so don’t freak out if it doesn’t roll out at the same time as usual patches. Maybe it will, and maybe it won’t, who knows. Keep in mind it is currently only 9:18 AM Anet time. I’m sure they want to have everyone in office ready to go to monitor issues related to the patch when it goes live.

You are doing that to yourself. You know the cut-off for the free trans charges is still 15 hours away. Go do something for 10 hours and you still have 5 left to login. Noone is making you sit there and wait except you.
