Largos would be cool with a little polish. Something to make them even less human looking and more fishy~ Inclusion of this race needs to include a gigantic amount of underwater content though. =33
Angel
Angel and
Angel
Out of the races I’ve seen so far, I’ll give what I believe to be the most probable ones chosen for the expansion, along with my guess at the % chance of seeing that race:
1. Tengu (90% certain)
2. Largos (50%)
3. Kodan (20%)
As far as my preferences, I’d like to play a more muscular version of the current Tengu, such as the Tengu from GW1, like Talon the henchman. Also, I’d LOVE to play the Wardens from Cantha. Seeing as how we may never go to Cantha, this shall remain a pipe dream.
[UV]
I would definitely choose Largos as my primary character since all the other races really lack in depth, they’re too happy go lucky with the world blooming flowers everywhere they walk(especially the sylvari). Now the Largos they’re mysterious, original, and actually have exquisite voice acting along with very interesting lore which is something very hard to find in this game besides the Mursaat and the human gods. There is so much that I love about this race on so many levels and I never felt this way about any race from any fantasy story since the Angels from Diablo and the Rivarn.

Tengu
Kodan
Dwarves
1- Largos A mysterious race from the north. They are known as assassins who appear from no where to make a kill, never taking meat from their kills.
2- Harpy Winged raiders and scavengers, Elonian legends claim these fiends are fallen servants of goddess Dwayna.
3 – Kodan or Krait(Naga)
Kodan A race of spiritual, polar bear-like humanoids whose sailed iceberg cities have been scattered from the arctic seas by Jormag.
Krait An aquatic serpentine race who regularly make slaves of other races, believing themselves to be the most superior race. They are governed by their manipulative Oratuss.
Largos
Centaur
Fuchikoma… I mean Karka.
this made me laugh a little lol
Dragon

Dragon
How many MMOs have playable dragons out there?
Exactly.
And yes. That would make you the bad guy. Since dragons are bad in GW2.
Any good race has to be very customizable. Based on the artwork of GW on google. These are the best races to have playable.
Tengu- http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Tengu
Most likely the first expansion race because of the closed off area outside LA.

I dunno, I think the Grawl could be highly customizable along with the Hylek and Skritt.
While many of the Grawl we’ve seen so far are of grey fur, Anet could easily go down the road and make them as different as anything in the Ape world. I think their culture is highly diverse. They may not construct architecture, but do have pretty much everything else along with deeply seperated factions like any of the main and current races. They dawn armor and face paint when raiding even now.
I would like to see white gorrillas much like the movie Congo. Could bring in chimps and silverbacks, maybe even orangutans.
Skritt, Hylek and maybe even the Kodan could be fleshed out the same way.
But man, the more I think about it…as I stated before, the Wardens from Echovald could be sweet. Was just looking at some of the concept art behind them. They look like mutated sylvarie to the max. I like.
Edit: I think we should discover a new civilized lizard/dragonkin sorta race. Saw some of the Argonian from teso, and man…they look sweet.

A Pack of Skritt! – You play 5 Skritt! that run together in a mini swarm, with brains enough to function.
Tengu provided they give them a non Charr skeleton and a wide variety of bird looks.
Not-Kodan. I just dont like em. They are upright polar bears. Same with the Hylek. Skrit at least have the whole hivemend bit and the rat/bat hybridness.
And ya a Krait/Naga type race would be interesting. Or soemthing utterly new an d interesting that isnt <Insert animal here>-person.
Edit to add: Jotun!

Quaggan would be funny, but seriously, making good looking armor for them would be almost impossible, also jumping, dodging animation would look weird.
Dredges x3. Everyone loves their beautiful faces and their hawt bodies.
Centaurs would also be sick, but I doubt it would be logical armorwise or camera wise.

Not sure about the third… maybe some kind of descendants of Glint, a draconic race that cannot be controlled by the elder dragons.
Instead of desiring more races I actually desire fewer races than we currently have.
It is my opinion that you would not have multiple races either evolving or being created together.
In terms of evolution, the two races would have been in close competition and the superior race would ahve either wiped out the inferior race or at least so blunted its evolution that it wouldn’t have obtained full sapiency (unless they could crossbreed in which case you’d be left with just humans and nothing else).
In terms of creation, no god is going to make multiple races because they are only going to make satient something imost like themself as anything else would be an affront to their own being.
So aside from removing all the really stupid looking nonplayable species (birdmen, frogmen, lizardmen, ratmen) I would also remove the Charr (catmen/dogmen) and maybe or maybe not the Asura as well (but the females are adorable!). Basically if it is derived from an animal then I would remove it.
The largos are a special case because they look like L2’s dark elves with animal parts attached to their back (are those wings? fins? are they used to attract potential mates/prey?) rather than animals that were made to stand on two legs (if extremely awkwardly but their is an entire evolutionary process that makes humanoids into sentient creatures, you can’t just take an animal, make it walk and then say done. You have to consider if this is the image that evolutionary forces would have created which I can say for the animal races most certainly not. You aren’t going to evolve to both have fur and wear clothing that is going to rub against that fur or evolve into a shape that clearly is not balanced like the Charr or frogmen).

Dwarves.
At a stretch: Risen from Elona. However, they’d be designed with visual differences akin to how the Forsaken differ from Humans in WoW.
Kodan as a distant third.
I honestly don’t expect any of the currently existing non-player races to become playable.
Skritt
Quaggan
Hylek
Skritt for sure. There’s already a Skritt town/city in the game and it’s pretty great. Really enjoyed playing through it and learning more about them.
Hylek also have a good depth to them – would work as a playable race. Kodan also but they cross over a bit too much with norn. What would they bring that’s new?
Maybe Tengu and I can see it happening, but they need more development. Right now they seem too cookie-cutter Monk type.

You’re probably right, but realism is sometimes boring and this is one of those times
Stormbluff Isle ( http://www.stormbluffisle.com )
1. Kitties (Charr are not kitties, they are big angry cats with horns)
2. Tengu
3. Naga (Face it, snake people are hot…I mean, awesome.)
I think Tengu are definitely coming eventually. Sorry but I don’t think we’ll ever have Skritt be a playable race. Kodans, maybe.
Tengu
Largos
Kodan
Love all three
Devs: Trait Challenge Issued
Largos
Margonites
Tengu
Largos and Tengu are great races, diverse, and would be really cool with respect to armor and structure and so on and so forth. I doubt I need to explain them much at all in my list. Margonites are really awesome, though, and seeing how the Apostate and The Lost both showcase free will, I think it would be grand if surviving Margonites fled to Elona from the Realm of Torment and are now trying to make a living. They would be a pretty stellar race to play as in a post-Abaddon universe, I think.
Largos
Warden-cus sylvari are sissys
Kodan
Funny to see so much skritt love – they do make me smile when I play the game and I think the comedic possibilities of roving bands of skritt are great – although seeing “shinies” all the time in map chat may need a “skritt filter” ;-)
so :
Skritt – since they are adorkable and make me smile / would be fun to RP in groups
Largos – Cool aquatic assassins with wings and a Quarian feel to them – whats not to like
and yes – I have to go with the samurai birdmen – i.e. Tengu – they are cool looking race
Kodan are nice but we already get bear forms etc as Norn – so I am less enthused there
Direclaw Foerender – Guardian
Moonclaw Emberblast – Engineer
I wish to play as Centaurs and see things from their point of view , I also wish to play as a Skritt and an Ettin ( like Grugg ) .
Tengu.
Yeah that’s probably all.
Either dwarves or tengu. I have no idea why we have sylvari when there are plenty of lore races to choose from.
Mursaat
Undead (masterless)
Tengu
Honorable mention is The Forgotten
Quaggans
Dwarves
Kodan
1. Naga, bringing forward the mysteries of the desert.
2. Largos, expanding the underwater world (which will introduce an underwater city in an expansion pack)
3. Introduce a new race of cyclops
Wallow
Yeti
Skritt
Skritt ~ I want my shinies
Get it taken down -
Do whatever it takes if you care about this game -
I said Largos some posts above, but imagine a city under the water, inside a bubble, would be epic
but the initial area should be only a litle under the water and then more parties merged on the ground, because combat underwater is boring XD
Title says it all – which 3 races would you most want to see become playable?
High Elves
Dark Elves
Eldar
A pity technical issues rule out some of those.
I mean, High Elves wouldn’t work at all. Dragon Princes are hands down the best looking HE models atm and we can’t have bloody horses in GW for some reason.
Same for Dark Elves. Can’t have Dark Elves without Witch Elves. And Witch Elves deserve huge 80’s hair that I doubt the game’s engine can support
Can’t think of a good reason to not have Eldar though. Hopefully they’d let us make Wraithguard too.

I can imagine me roasting one on a spit. I can’t stand the Quaggan, something about them just irks me. To each his own though.
This is what I found to justify the Largos.
I read a comment that the Largos might be Anet’s way to highlight the underwater zones. To me that would make sense going off of a quote “We didn’t want the undersea zones to feel like a secondary experience compared to the land zones, so you’ll experience the full—ahem—depth of Guild Wars 2 content underwater.” -Jonathan Sharp.
The Largos, while we don’t know a lot about them yet, seem to be like they would have the best chance to be an underwater race should Anet add one. The other underwater races (Quaggen and Krait) have problems that would make it difficult making them a playable race.
The Largos while we know they take pride in killing , don’t randomly kill (that have been seen). They look for skilled challenges and are bound by “Great Houses” and the “Concordat of the Tethyos Houses”. Largos also have strong values of debt and have been seen to go out of their way to protect those whom they owe a debt to. While they remain to be unknown (Like the Asura before they were pushed out of their homes) the Largos may need to ally with the other races and would seemingly be in debt to the other races when Bubbles is able to be defeated(being they were pushed out of their homes (guessing by Bubbles).
The only real question now would be can they live on land with out being near the water? I can compare the Humans being able to breath underwater not having to worry about breathing. I suspect that if Largos were to be playable it would be within reasonable assumption for game play reasons they would be just fine with some minor adjustments. The models we see now all 9 of them seem to be place holders and do not look as polished as they could be, meaning if they are to do anything else with them they would need to put some more work on them anyway.
I think Largos, Tungu and Kodan are the most likely and the front runners.
