I’ve had a ton of things to do since the release of HoT especially with Masteries. Today was finally my engineers turn to get some special treatment with Mastery training.

I have him all decorated with golem things especially since he is an Asura and I find it to be aesthetically pleasing for him to run about with the golem backpack and harvesting tools.

A moment of enjoying gliding around Divinity’s Reach reminded me that I had yet to choose a glider skin for him.

It just came into my head that perhaps it would be awesome to have a golem-themed glider skin, also! Perhaps a little golem on your back with a propeller or something. That would be so fun!

I know, I know. There is more important things.

Just a thought and didn’t know where to throw this. Now, off to make my first Scrapper!

This would be an awesome addition! I’d buy one in a heartbeat, especially if it worked on the existing Replica Job-O-Tron back item in the same way as those silly wings do.

Haha, exactly! I see a fair number of people running around with the little golem backpack also. Imagine they wouldn’t mind so much if it would also be used as a glider. Maybe some day as a gem store present hehe!

it just hit me! Why not sell a “Glide-r-tron backpack glider combo” it could be like the toxic spore backpack and then glide just like your drawing ^.^

Yeah exactly! It would be great to pick up an entire pack of the golem stuff. I think it would be a good hit with people. I would have even bought the pack including the golem tools at the time although my character now has all of those. At least they are account bound now.

And those are great quotes, eduardo haha. It could be done just fine since there are ones for just normal jumping also that aren’t just spammed all over. And Glide-r-tron… that’s it right there. xDD

I noticed that a few months ago, someone made a suggestion for the hawk glider and now after 4 months it actually went through and its being sold on the gem store. I have been thinking of how awesome it would be if your pets, as a ranger, that can fly could also fly with you while you are giliding, including wyverns. I know this is kind of a far fetched suggestion but i thought it would be worth mentioning it.

My main suggestion is a Wyvern wing and glider combo, that look like the ones of the pet Jevenile Fire Wyvern, I think they look like dragon wings and they could make your character look awesome. Would be even better if it had a dye channel to change the inner color of the wings, https://i.ytimg.com/vi/HldrWs4gErg/maxresdefault.jpg but even if kept black and red I would be completely content I know that there are bat wings available, but I think that if you do not have a sinister looking character you cant really work with it because of the bones giving it a creepy look, and especially since you cant change the greenish color it has.

I like the idea but you gotta be able to dye them Or at least change the Bat wings and make them dyable.
I think I’d prefer a Branded glider first :P There are so many possibilities I’m surprised ANet hasn’t released many gliders yet.

I know what you mean. Let’s think for a second. Aside from wyvern, branded and dyable gliders (great suggestions) you could have:

Jetpacks
Fairy wings
Elemental wings (fire, water, earth, air)
Gaseous wings of basically any colour
A cloud of bats
April fool’s day T pose and SFX
Lovecraftian wings (think slimy, tentacled dragon wings)

Those are just off the top of my head and not necessarily in order of preference.

Yeah there really is an endless amount of ideas, I really like the elemental wings idea and the branded one sounds awesome as well. I think if they made ones to match the Glowing Crimson,Gaze and Green Masks it would be great too, the only problem is that if you want to match you would have to get both but I do not think ANet would mind that :P if anything i think it would benefit them.

Actually, i just realized why they cant make it so that the wings and glider combo have a dye channel, its because in order to have a dye channel the back piece should also be able to be dyed and since you cant dye the wings as a back piece, you cant dye the glider skin either. So they can implement a wyvern glider skin with a dye channel but not if you also want to have them as wings, unless they are willing to allow certain back pieces to be dye just like some gliders can and others cant.

Not really, for the glider dye’s they just have to set the backup to ‘dye remover’ on the dye channels. I bet the code base for it is already there just disabled from the UI so the players cant edit it.

But i think its time we get dyable backpacks and weapons…..

In all seriousness, I’d like to see anything that are wings as a back piece have a glider option.

I was enjoying myself this weekend as The Secret Weapon of the People . The engine even gives a little burst when you jump to help with the illusion.

Not that any one other then the devs would know but what are the chances that the Holographic Dragon Wing Cover, Holographic Shattered Wings, and Wings of the Sunless will become glider skins? Even the Tempered Spinal Blades would be awesome

It would be pretty awesome to have them since some of those are not even obtainable any more. The dragon wings are going for like 100+ gold.

I don’t know about anybody else, but I know I would like those Valentine’s Day wings as a backpack skin. I love them a lot! With or without the heart particle effect, I would definitely purchase a backpack set of those wings.

Well I thought I was content with my current glider skins and then you come along and turn my world upside down. This would be awesome!

I’m still hoping they add a glider-less glider skin so you can fly around like when you use the aviator memory box, including airplane sound effects. Right now, I have to hope the rendering bug happens in VB and make the noises myself.

I’m not very interested in the gloem thing, but that propeller is awesome.

The mail quaggan carrier as a glider. One quaggan holding each of your arms in one hand and the balloons in the other that glide you about.

I think Tyrael angel wings as seen in Diablo 2 would be cool.

Gliding Weapons and a PvP map focused around updrafts and floating islands.

Design is your job, but something mechanical/metal wings (you can start thinking about plane wings).
But important is fire, fuse. And thanks for gliding mastery, if you increase speed with this glider, the fire will fuse more(like a rocket) this is only beta idea btw

Da Vinci Glider

Char-Wings. Something that doesn’t look completely lame on my Char characters.

This isn’t really a glider suggestion but I (and others I’ve talked to) would really like to see a matching backpack skin for the Valentine’s Day wings!

Different skins based on guild, order, pact, etc.

Attack skills. Movement type abilities like we have when diving with diving goggles.

The ability to dive. Currently we have to take off the glider to descend at a rapid pace. If we could dive then we would not need to do this.

Barrel roll skill when gliding,does nothing but a barrel roll.

Glider that you can put your guild emblem on with your guild colours. That would be awesome. Since capes are a little hard to do with clipping issues then maybe a Guild Glider would be good?

In case there was confusion, I wasn’t referring to movement skills like leap. It’s just some special actions you can do in the air for amusement.

Tons of people have kept asking for them so…. how bout a glider that’s a cape! Fly like superman.
