I think it’s safe to say that HoT hasn’t been a success, but you can draw that conclusion from the sales numbers…this thread that WON’T DIE is just further proof what a massive unforced error their marketing and release were. You can’t spin crap into gold, Anet! That lesson seems to be on the verge of costing them a company.

fact is GW2 lives on, people still play it, people still enjoy HOT, Hot was good enough they are making another expansion (you wouldn’t do that level of investment on something that has proven to fail) Life goes on.

You can likely find a discounted version via the official reseller list — don’t forget to check the online ones — or via Amazon.
Keep in mind that if you buy from a third party, and something goes wrong, you have to deal with the third party about it. (I’d only consider third parties through amazon, or someone on the official physical or digital retailer list. C2D and similar, definitely nope.)

Yes, they get it at a $20 discount, just like everyone else that waited a year and a half to purchase. Not to mention all the content included in the expansion, plus all the content released since launch.

Make a ftp account and see their restrictions then thank the gods you skip those by having bought the game before.
Oh and the years of time you had to play before it went ftp ofcourse

The f2p is an extended, vanilla only, trial with some important restrictions on the trading post, chat, number of character slots, guild bank access, bag slots, sending/receiving things through the emails.

Keep in mind the character slot was for prepurchase, not preorder. That is paying in full from Anet, not putting $5 down on the game at a local game store.
