Portal Stone and No Slot
I have a portal too but no beta slot or email. I sent in a ticket this morning, hoping to get a reply soon. Unfortunately I’ll be working soon
I have seen people around the web saying the same thing. By pure odds, I doubt all of them use these forums.
How badly can they do the random assignemnt of slots in this. Before a RNG that people despised and seemed buggy. Now not even the people that got guaranteed invites can not get it.
This is worse than last week when the shatter was a daily. Then the server crashed and rolled everyone back (back to LA, loss of all loot, daily for it showing up again) right after the event completed.
please help us, I just wanna play beta

You don’t need to be signed up for the newsletter, the newsletter only gives instructions. The portal item should guarantee you access but others are having the problem you have – no beta slot. Submit a ticket ASAP if your slot is missing. You may get lucky and have it solved before the event ends. That’s the best advice I can give.

I’m suscribed to the newsletter.. i did it as soon as i got the portal … newsletter has nothing to do.. i did not recieved any e-mail from anet.. and i did suscribed 10 times already…

As far as I know this is not true of the portals, you just needed to sign up to get the information, not access. Do you have a link to this “requirement”?

Not true, people that got the portal were “guaranteed” access and the newsletter was not required.

I found a “Portal to the Heart of Maguuma” but I’m not on the mailing list. Can I still get in to the next beta event?
Yes! You’ll be able to access the beta.
Our current test uses this method as well as the “Portal to the Heart of Maguuma,” an in-game item which had a chance to drop from enemies in Dry Top and the Silverwastes. Players who found this item are guaranteed a spot in the current closed beta test! Signing up for the newsletter is not required to access the beta test if you received one of these items.
Signing up for the newsletter was highly suggested though to receive information on how to participate in the beta event.

I got a Portal drop and no Beta slot as well (I still have my Portal Stone in my bank), and I’ve been signed up for the newsletter.
30 minutes until the next test… no fix… not even an acknowledgment of the problem.
I also have the same problem and it’s been a real bummer :\ I’ve been subscribed to the newsletter since it started, and regularly get mails from it, but did not get the instructions for the beta. So even while having ALWAYS been in the newsletter and not just after portal drop, I still encountered this bug. I actually did take a long time to farm the portal and had almost lost hope when I got it, so to have this happen now has been really disappointing. Hope they do something to make up for it, but I honestly doubt it…

Next test has now started. The lack of support by the Anet staff will be noted in my various reviews on HoT.
I still have no access even with the second block of the beta. I feel like this is a late April Fools joke. I have a stone yet no beta slot…

Got an answer from my support ticket and basically all they said is that they’re not able to verify the acquisition of the portal item, even though it’s sitting right there in my inventory and i still have the “Congratulations!” mail in my inbox. Basically no acknowledgement whatsoever there might be a bug

It’s a little late for that… that second event is almost over and 90% of the world is asleep for the 3rd event. Hopefully they offer us free access to the next event whenever that is.
I have to agree it is rather late for them to “fix” the problem they have not even acknowledged exists I have not seen it mentioned in one of the threads that has been posted nor posted on the “Known beta Issues” thread they have up. I wouldn’t be so upset but it hasn’t been acknowledged and it was an item we had to farm to gain access to this. And guildwars 2 was supposed to be away from farming. I hope they will learn from this cause I don’t think they will end up making it right or feel right at this stage. We shall see what comes

that’s really what bugs me too. I could realistically only have made it to the first beta slot due to my timezone, so even when sending my support ticket I didn’t hold any hope to be able to play in it anymore, but I still wanted to receive acknowledge for it and maybe have them fix the issue for people who /could/ make it.
Literally all they could have said was “there is a issue and we are aware of it but we don’t know how to fix it yet”. That’s understandable? But we are not getting something as simple as a “we’re sorry” and that really annoys me.
I also hope we’ll at least get a guaranteed spot (for real, this time) next beta at this point but I’m still really disappointed with the whole ordeal :\

YAY! thank you for the acknowledgement! If you can get us into the 3rd test that’d be great, though It may be too late for many of the people here.
I am a bit disappointed because I spent many hours farming for the portal stone. As the GW2 Team stated before the portal dropping event began,
“Beta access will be flagged upon looting the item, and it’s not required to claim participation.”

So apparently if a portal stone drops for any given person, then according to GW2, that person should have a guaranteed spot available for today’s BETA events. By the way I am also subscribed to the GW2 Newsletter and have been for quite some time now, yet I have not received any email indicating anything about the BETA prior to today. Oh well. I would hope that Arenanet would give us some compensation of BETA time for whenever we want, until the allotted time runs out (2 hours?).

What about those who don’t reply and have had the same thing happen? Because I’m super lucky I found this thread, I have a beta portal as well, but no email, no beta character slot, no nothing.
Hopefully it can get figured out before the last beta time slot.. I’m sure you guys are working on it.

I now have a beta character slot as well!! thank you so much, so glad I made bad decisions and didn’t go to sleep. Who needs sleep at 4.30 am? not me I’m gonna be on that last slot, lack of sleep is a problem for the me from the future

I’ve been having this issue as well. Submitted ingame ticket, emailed support, made a thread, still not fixed.

No fix for me either but nice to see others are getting there beta character slot.
What about the people that didn’t post in this thread? A lot of people(including myself) grinded for hours and hours for a guaranteed beta access.

This is a little ridiculous. I’m sure others spent hours farming for the portal and maybe didn’t get the slot as well?
At least some acknowledgement would be nice. 0 Updates and the last beta is going to be over before you know it.
I have had a ticket open for two days abot this. I still have the portal in my inventory. I am not sure if I have to post here to get recognized so I am posting. I farmed for 5 days as was very excited when I got it. Been very frustrated that a garaunteed access to the beta seems to only have been garaunteed for those that it worked for. I know a solution will be found but watching streaming of the beta was not how I wanted to spend my evening
