Hi All. I know that I can get from 400 to 425 just by refining Ori and Ancient Wood, but what is an easy and fairly inexpensive way to finish getting Artificer to 500? I’ve tried looking for guides but all of them are rather pricy and none are very straight forward. Any advice appreciated!

Realize that there isn’t a quick an inexpensive way to level to 500. It’s just another hurdle set in a players way to slow their construction of ascended items, as if time gating mats weren’t enough.

Theres no “cheap” way as far as I know. After a certain point even refining Ascended materials gives no progress. Then you are pigeonholed into crafting exotics (discovering provides the most significant bonus) up to 500.

Some tier 6 materials are a little cheaper then others. But chances are you are going to have to discover/make a lot to get through to 500 (for me it felt like I made everything at least once, even had to get some karka shells). Just look at mats required for certain items and decide which is cheaper to make for you.

Your best bet would be to use one of the websites that determine the cheapest option for you based on current TP prizes:
http://www.gw2crafts.net/artificing_400.html

The cheapest way to get from 400 to 500, at this very moment, is ~150 gold.

If you try to figure this out manually, you WILL overpay, as there is no way you can determine the cost of things based on TP mat prizes as quickly and reliably as this website.

I think it is discovering 7 or 8 exotic recipes per 25 levels. Various ways to do this, cheapest is to take a side trip to harvest on your way to somewhere else. Takes longer. There are also some potions artificer can make but the exp you get is not so great. The refining of the various T7 mats does not give so great an experience boost either.

At 497—-but I am just too tired of farming wood-and my gold is down to 17-will get there eventually, but orr is just too much of a drag, gorge and southsun dont’ have enough nodes and leap varies from day to day—but is likewise annoying. Maybe it’s just time for a break.

from 425-450 discover exotics and other undiscovered things, just put a t6 mat in and see what matches.
from 450-475 make bloodstone bricks, imperial star fragments, lump of mithrilium, spirit wood planks, etc. the ascended stuff.
from 475-500 you need to discover about 8-9 exotic weapons with a crafting booster active. i did this a day before wvw reset so you have more chance to critical succes from wvw bonus. maybe your guild will put a 10% crafting critical succes bonus on for you

I’m not arguing!
I’m simply explaining why I’m right.
