I don’t understand why blocked players are still forced into games with you when queuing for SPVP.

I am under the impression that a block list is mean to remove players from your game experience. Block needs to block, even in SPVP. I block people for very specific reasons and don’t want to see them in my games.

Blocking someone should remove them from queuing into a team with you in any SPVP game mode. It’s aggravating to block someone then get stuck with them on a team for the next 5 games.

That’s unfortunate. However, I think you can imagine how you could abuse this system, by blocking players you found bad, or blocking every ranger you meet to be sure not to get one ranger on your team to increase your chances of victory. If you’re stuck with the same player, try to wait one or two minutes before queuing again. He can’t talk to you, so how bad can it be?

If this were to happen, any new player could block everyone who is decent. Meaning you would be able to fight people who are less experienced than you everytime. Pretty much queue dodging. Blocking someone means they can’t communicate with you, but it doesn’t guarantee that you don’t see them again.

pretty sure “MMR” would still come into play preventing you from simply blocking everyone at your level of play (which would be an extremely arduous task in and of itself) just to smurf lower skill levels which, even if you’d be willing, would still be wildly ineffective as a means of farming anything; especially as something as arbitrary as rank points.

in an environment without SoloQ, this would have great applications in making queues much more enjoyable for those of us tired of getting guaranteed loses for queuing solo thanks to players whose cowardice ensures they never play without a full party (i.e. 95% of all “top tier” players).

over the past two days alone i have fought more competitive teams than if I had actually competed in the WTS/ToG, with nothing but pugs each time. I absolutely don’t mind playing against these players individually or with a comparable team on my side, but matchmaking has proven that it is totally incapable of this, without exception.

what, exactly, is wrong with wanting to manually prevent playing with poor players or players that have the unfair advantage of additional coordination/better teammates when matchmaking simply cannot?

p.s. PLEASE moderator, this is AN ON TOPIC post. i know handing out infractions for anything that criticizes the people who sign your paycheck is tempting (if you even get paid for it), but it is necessary for any form of constructive dialog.

Would it be better if you were removed from queue’ing into a team with a blocked players?

Or you know, maybe these players don’t enjoy the terrible rotations and the autistic team mates soloq offers. Just a hypothesis though.

premades have unfair advantages against soloists. full stop. if you want to play with a party you should only be allowed to play against those who are also in a party. it’s as simple as that.

trust me, the countless amount of mediocre players that queue in ranked are just as bad as the people who only queue in full party. if i actually got matched with a team of players comparable to my level, playing against a premade wouldn’t be all that bad.

but I am literally getting people that are playing level 2 characters and spend more time in downstate than they do anything else. it’s embarrassing just how bad some of these players are and the fact that I have to actually play with them, let alone against full premade teams, is testament to just how horribly disfigured the current matchmaking system is. I don’t think any amount of formulas will ever guarantee an avoidance of this. I truly think a player-defined matchmaking blacklist is the only answer.

Blocked just means you cannot have dialogue with each other. What kind of person thinks they have the power to prevent other paying customers from playing the game?

I think there in lies your problem.

Why you would have ever been under that impression. It would never work. Too exploitable for one thing. Don’t spvp then or grow a pair.

There are mmo’s where you don’t get put in a team with a person you’ve blocked for pve content (not sure about pvp). It can be abused yes and I suppose that’s why it is not implement but I for one would also like the possibility to not be teamed up with certain players in pvp.

Ive played a lot of MMOs in the last 15+ years, what MMO allowed you to block other players from content while you were in the party?

Stop harassing Anet with useless posts. No offence but what if I just chose to block you, perhaps because I disagree with you and you’re not allowed to party with me or against me thus resulting in longer queue times and potentially not even playing the game.

If however the there were gold-sellers playing SPvP and wasting party space just to sell then I would understand a problem here. Blocking does not allow you to talk to that person and regardless, what are a bunch of words from an almost anonymous user.

I agree that this suggestion is bad, but it is often raised, and it is not totally useless to remind people why it is bad. Let us not decide what is worthy of being on the forums and what is not. Freedom of speech and all that kitten.
