Downstate damage
being good in downstate requires some investments. I’m very fond of downstate tactics and my character still being a threat in downstate. It’s up to the attacker to bring counters to downstate fighting and land that stomp, knock me out of the point or withdraw and let someone else finish me off.

my character offers the same but i still think this is something the community dos’nt need… thxvm for your post.
It’s not your main job as zerker to stomp people, in case that you can then make sure you have the tools to stomp. Most games have the potential to be lost because zerker specs rush to stomp downed target and get aoed on; ranged pressure on downed targets is the wisest thing you can do as zerker
Zerker can kill downed faster than most people can stomp opponents. While condition builds can just apply conditions on the downed and wait him out. Celestial and bunker builds have the hardest time downing opponents.

Foes tell me “OP downstate,BS downstate getting nerfed soon, etc” when I am condi necro and didn’t trait for it…Zerkers take more damage while stomping you can if you want but it all depends on specs/classes, downstate damage is not the only stomp stopper cc,teleport etc can be as well.
The Dhuumfire thread
Finishing off a downed player should not be effortless. If I’m ever downed, I want my foes to work for their kill. If people have the option to sink or swim, most people will choose to swim. Don’t assume that all downed players must automatically die; some players build their characters and sacrifice lots of beneficial traits and stats just to function well while downed.
If you recognize that the downed player is a high damage berserker player, then you should understand that his health pool and defense are extremely small, and it may be better to just cleave them down instead of stomping, or use a tactical approach to finishing off the downed player (strafe his projectiles, LoS behind terrain and chip him down, put a pet on him, safe stomp, etc).

Wait you want people to actually think about the consequences of their actions rather than just Yolo faceroll ing the keyboard? Blasphemy.

Cleaving a downed Power Necro in a 1v1 or 2v2 fight is horrible advice m8. The right strategy is to go ranged and plink from 1000+ range if you can’t safely stomp.

In my time playing the game, Ive never, ever heard of people saying that downstate is “OP”, “BS” or “getting nerfed soon”. This just sounds like a issue that can be improved by those people complaining about downstate to l2p. It really isnt that hard and you should anyway have a ability to stomp people, whether it is stability, stealth or blindness also having knowledge of the abilities of most of the classes.

Current procc shenanigans, especially Chill of Death with Deaths Embrace (downstate dmg trait) and fire and air, are absurd. Sure.
But wanting to effortlessly stomp an opponent is equally absurd. Necro down state gets on a threat level when traited. Other down states got inherant stomp avoidance(thief/mes) or better healing(guard/ranger) or some other gimmick that might or might not be up to par.
Is the combination of +50% dmg on Chill of Death too much? Of course, but that doesn’t mean that having a class with a threatening down state is a no no.
Also, to add some fire, calling people who try to make things happen even when in down state, a fundamental game mechanic, “tryhard” is a pretty scrubby thing to say, since no matter how much you dislike it, it is part of the game and adds to it, especially in team fights.
Why do people think its ok to ever use “2v1” as part of their logic in balancing?
