Hey, I was playing some solo queues and was facing these chronomancers. I found it interesting that 2 of them could moa nearly my entire team and end the midfight immediately.
Since a chronomancer can turn back time on their skills and moa again it seems like there is not supposed to be counterplay for moa. It is because of this, that I hope the game embraces it and decides to also make moa unblockable, and while they are at it, make it undodgable and uninvulnable.
Am I a man trapped in a moa’s body, or a moa trapped in a man’s body?

Moa or as it’s now called, [Signet of Humility], is dodgeable and if I’m not mistaken it’s also blockable. There is a long and obvious windup animation and it’s on one of the longest CD’s out there.
As to Chronomancers using multiple Moa… yes that’s true, but the continuum shift required to do that burns a lot of resources and can’t be done very often.
Sure, you could moa 4 enemies with two chronomancers if you burned up nearly all the resources of both chronomancers and the enemies all failed to dodge or block.
Kind of like walking repeatedly through a burn guard’s fire circle, come to think of it…
The sad part, knowing devs and judging by their actions in the past they will probably take OP post serious and actually implement the change.
O I love how easy it is to dodge moaswhen they’re cast from stealth, adds that kinda impossible skill i was really looking for in this game….
I think if someone moa’s an already moa’d character it should give that character a mini Moa for the duration.

Why not add 10 stacks of burning with the unblockable Moa?
That way there could at least be some counterplay and most
importantly ,“L2P and use cleanses” ,would be a valid reply in

Also, Mesmer is severely lacking in general currently. I propose making Mirror of Anguish and Confounding Suggestions baseline so I can squeaze in The Pledge more easily in my build (and make it reduce CDs by 5 secs per tick so I don’t have to kitten myself with other utilities for perma stealth).
Oh and while we are at it, make all mesmer spells blasts because boooohoooooo mesmers don’t have enough of those and can’t join might stacking train (according to mesmer forums). Oh and also water fields and fire fields to complete the picture. And iWin button. Don’t forget that one.
How about some nice illusion mode swapping with near instant condi cleanse, major regeneration and buffed dps? D/D Mesmer inc!
This thread started with a complaint about moa and chronomancers. The issue of moa has been endlessly debated and it’s been nerfed down and watered down by being given to engineers as well.
In theory could two Chronomancers moa 4 people in rapid succession? Yes, but it would require the targets to cooperate, stay in range, not interrupt and not dodge or block for four very long animations.
If four team members stand still with there mouths agape and let this happen to them, they probably deserve it.
I want to bring a suggestion regarding moa and counterplay: lock moa when stealthed.
It requires only 2 stealthed persons to moa+immob. No counterplay at all and you get bursted from 100% to 0 without any possible way out. (Besides maybe warriors that could remove immob on moa 5 ?)

Nah, nah, the CD needs to be reduced, and every other part of the mesmer’s kit needs to be nerfed so that every viable build revolves around Moa, and nobody can even consider using anything else! And then buff it until it’s obnoxiously strong in top-tier play, but everything else sucks!
I figured that this would be the best d/d ele comparison.
Eles should get Moa, too. Maybe put it on Blinding Ashes (only a short Moa, maybe 8s with 3s ICD) and remove the blinding for it. Seems much more balanced.

Moa is the counter to many other elites like lich, rampage, or even just sustain (moa and burst) I really think there should be some mechanic where either you can break yourself out of moa or break someone else out so there is counterplay.
