I think it’s a reasonable change, or else thief and mesmer have too much advantage in Battle of Kyhlo, and probably Temple of the Silent Storm.

I would love this. No more cheap wins from mesmers that blink on top and let ai do the damage. There is nothing fun about something that can hit you and you cant hit it back.

Clearly cele is meant to be the only thing played.
Too good to be true. Errors will be made imo and they will do someting stupid. Usually when they do deserved nerfs which change the game they screw it up by “compensating” with massive buffs. Like when they tried to nerf initative and in fact buffed it massively.

I wouldn’t mind, I typically am situated on the same plane as my enemies. This is because it takes me FOREVER to walk to those ledges and once out of DS my attacks are melee.
I find it ridiculous that not only can a thief or mes out distance me and stealth but they can tele somewhere that literally makes Impossible for me to stay even near them, as in no counterplay.

We can’t play anything but tanky specs because of thief/Mesmer/supremacy in the zerker department
1) Thief and Mesmer have relatively short CD “get out of jail” cards when screwing their positioning, fast activation and fluid animation
-Thief can engage at will no tell and that’s a huge advantage against other zerker builds and in the same way they can disengage..too much advantage, less risk…
2) med guardian possess several blocks + outstanding survival for a zerker build, also their skills can handle stealth thieves pretty well
We can’t have any other kind of zerker build..unless we get more benefit for playing one, other than wait to be killed by a stealthed thief who possibly stealthed from behind the corner when you can’t see him stealthing
Without sustain, other professions must go through extremely high CD defense skills, too easy for Mesmer and thieves to go stealth and starve other profession till they’re ready to get downed fast…med guardian will simply outsustain you…

By the time ranger and necro climb up the roof, the fight is already over and your team lost the middle. HF dpsing on the roof while all your teammates died and the point is captured.
Ranger has to trait for the sustain line (usually 3rd line 6 points or 4th line 6 points), sacrificing around 33% dps and all the utility slots just to get some cleanses. After this sacrifices, the damage of power ranger not only lost to mesmer in range dps, the mobility and utility is much less useful and much more selfish compare to a mesmer. (Blink and Portal)

Longbow ranger sure but def not necro. It needs los to land attacks(so you can hit necro back) unlike mesmer and rangers AI that never stops hitting you even when your hiding, and cant be hit yourself since you dont need los for AI to do damage. It’s not fun or fair… Its basically getting free damage on someone depending on the class they play.

Well. Most people don’t seem to realize that the primary selling point of a thief is not its stealths or damage (which really is mediocre at best), but the mobility. Z axis teleportation allows thieves to jump in/out of teamfights (and deliver their somewhat sad, but outcome-changing 4-6k burst. Gimping verticality essentially cuts down their usefulness across all the maps and really makes them as vulnerable out on the open field.

Nope. In order for Power Ranger to live abit longer, they have to sacrifices around 8 trait points just into non damage oriented traits, and sacrifices full bars of utilities.
6 2 6 0 0 or 0 5 3 6 0 dps wise will not win thief and mesmer burst. Plus mesmers can remove booms, blink to a place instantly (usually takes 10 seconds to walk to the same place), and use portal to +1 in any location.
Okay. So the thief, Mesmer, and guardian needs to walk there. While the ranger spams their 2k auto attacks, rapid fire, and PBS. Dodge? Sure, but my endurance will be drained before I get to that ledge. Then those auto attacks will get me low and I’ll have to retreat. Meanwhile the ranger is mashing the S key and and watching YouTube on his other screen.

Not sure you’re talking about power ranger , or you’re mix up with condition ranger, or you just mix them all up and form an OP perfect spec?

Things like thieves and mesmers porting to the ledges on keep, clocktower, the bridges on foefire etc is changing tomorrow.
If this turns out to be true, I’ll lose all my hope in ANet. It has already been tested not too long ago and everyone hated it. I cannot fathom how they want to compensate the classes with such a nerf. No buff in the world could make up for that.

Sure, take away the port “gap closers/openers”, so everyone has to walk to cover distances.
Meanwhile they don’t take gap closers on weapon skills into account at all.

It’s funny how firebird is even commenting, he doesn’t really know pvp….. he follows crysis and just get ressed after eating everything possible and dodging afterwards. Anyways, this change is idiotic… just making cele and ranger even more powerful, along with making thief mes and guard less viable. Why have a thief? Because mobility and burst. Whats this doing? Limiting mobility basically making it even harder to play thief in already and aids/cancer cele meta…. GG anet once again you amaze me.

Cele ele is a bruiser build. The ele DOESNT NEED a teleport for survival. Mesmer and thief NEED it to stay alive.

sure, but they still have 2 gap closers on meta weapon set aswell
mesmers have 0 on Sw/T and 1 mediocre at best on Staff (which will be gutted too with this change)
It’s not like they haven’t implemented something then hotfix in the next hour. We shall see how it goes, guardian was the class I used to love this on it was also an untraditional escape sometimes. I am more worried about stab change imo and whatever they may do to CC and boon hate.
