PvP 3 wishes -what do you want most in PvP?
1) Solo and DuoQ please
2)More viable builds per class
3)Matches starting with 5vs5 and not 5vs4.
4)Quitter debuff
1. Skills and conditions that are more situational, have greater impact on battle when used correctly at the right time. This counts for combo fields too.
2. More viable build diversity.
3. Bigger nodes due to current AoE spam, along with secondary mechanics that could turn tides of a match, just like in LoF.
As a side note, I’d also like to see reduced particle effects.
1. Rating based Armor/Weapons
2. More trait/weapon/utility/class balance.
3. Different PvP Modes such as in Guild Wars.
4. New amulets with more stat diversity
5. Revamp unused sigils and runes
1) Solo-Q / Pre-Q split
2) Matchmaking revision
3) Build diversity / Trait revisions
1. SoloQ
2. More maps with important secondary objectives (Like Spirit Watch and Legacy)
3. The ability to customize gear and join t/spvp games in the sPvP window.
i have only 1
- That anet actually devote time and energy to pvp as if it was a core aspect of the game.
1. more solo-player experience
i often find myself running around solo. hotjoin is absolutely no option, absolutely not. its not even good to try out something imo. soloQ atm is frustrating mainly because of well known facts (facing premades, 4v5’s, lack of possibility to interact with teammates – last one can be ignored i think if they split the Q’s)
like different tournaments/automated tournaments as they were in gw1 for example. in some kind of way custom arenas are now for the tourneys, but as a casual player with no competitive team and the intention to just have fun, playing those organised priced tournaments is absolutely not what i am looking for.
i really want to keep the team oriented playstyle, but as a player with no full competitive roster i find it hard to get organised for 3rd party tournaments.
i want to hop in, call out at some friends who are currently online and full the roster with some pugs or queue up as duo or trio.
the first step to a solution may be the splitting of the queues, but it would still lack variety. for the higher tier in the competitive scene this might be right, but just for the fun of playing (i think thats not only for the casuals though) there needs to be more (i really dont want to be the next one player who points at gw1, but its just the perfect example with random arena, team arena, tombs and then the top tier with ladder aka gvg and all this modes gave me almost 7 years of fun)
2. more customisation on the user interface
this annoys me since i started gw2. most of all the minimap. at least give us an option to make it sticky and add another zoom-level
i play on a 27" and if i max the minimap there is still room for another 2 minimaps until i reach the skillbar. repositioning of my effects (boons, cond) would be awesome; like making it bigger and more in the middle. in the end, again, as it was in gw1 would be perfect but might be too much.
3. a REAL ranking system
not one that actually tells your playtime. those glory points…. standing in hotjoin and doing nothing would get me to dragon rank and this fact is just pooh-pooh – no matter how long this would take, it is possible.
really important for that would be separated ranking (soloQ, teamQ, hotjoin, <whatever gets implemented>)
now i start hating myself for that :P – as, for example gw1 tombs. 1st victory 1 fame point increasing on consecutive wins. so by implementing a tournament (and please dont call the actual match-up a tournament…) with 3 rounds you will get more and more whatever-points. and there were different rankings for the different pvp modes – fame, champ points, gladiator points etc.
- sorry for the repetitive gw1 mentions
- sorry for my english, i guess it must be horrible to read. i would much appreciate if someone takes the time and point my faults and message me
my 2 cents on more and/or other incentives than rank: i dont think the dev’s need to implement more incentives for pvp players, because the incentive in playing pvp is to face other players – to pvp in fact. if someone needs something besides that (and i read a lot QQ like "we want more this and that or we stop with ur stupid game) it means it’s just not the right game(mode) for you. go pve if you want to grind.
much love

1. Soloque, with good teambalancing (not like 3lvl 1 + 2lvl 20 vs 5lvl 30)
2. Team-/guildladder
3. More tpvp-gamemodes (only capping gets boring a little bit to fast)
1. 2v2 arenas
2. 3v3 arenas
3. 5v5 arenas
RETIRED MESMER YO!
1. More ways for players to spend glory/more ways to get it as well.
2.Team Ladder (separate from solo queue ladder, when a real solo queue comes)
3. Least priority would be an complete overhaul on their reward system in general.
4. Last one, more builds. As a thief I feel traps are completely useless.

1. Profession balance
Just separate balance between sPvP, WvW, and PvE completely. We all know it’s going that way, eventually. Then go through everything; base stats, weapon skills, healing skills, utility skills, elite skills, traits, and so on. Give each profession a complete overhaul.
2. Solo queue
Should have been in at release. It’s pretty much vital to getting more players into sPvP.
3. More build variety
I would like to see at least three viable tPvP builds, for each profession. But balance each profession first, please.

(edited by Kasama.8941)
1. 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 arenas focused on kills (of opponents + some minor mobs) rather than capping points.
2. Importing PVE gear into PVP and vice versa (if only for the aforementioned modes)
3. Moar maps for god`s sake, nothing erodes the brain more than tedious repetition.
But yeah if i`d have to choose between the 3, i`d take number 1. This game needs small scale to singular pvp.
1) Split queues (ranked solo/duo queue, ranked team queue, unranked queue for any number of people)
IMO all three of these are very necessary, including the unranked queue for playing with you newbie friends or playing new classes/builds etc.
2) Voice commands
This should come with the solo/duo queue. Unlike LoL/Dota, Guild Wars 2 is practically impossible to play well with only chat for communication.
You should be able to open up a voice menu with a hotkey, then press 1-9 or something else for a specific voice command like “I’m coming mid!” or “2 incoming to close!”.
3) Quality of life/Polish
Including but not limited to:
A PvP Equipment panel, allowing the creation of PvP items from a simple menu instead of “buying” them for free from vendors. Ideally the PvP skin locker would be integrated with this.
Skill/trait/equipment templates you can save and switch from and to easily on the fly.
A checkbox for right-click targeting.
A refined reward system, with the Glory vendors having a more diverse inventory. Make it possible to get some skins which are PvE-only atm (the big ones being Legendaries).
Integrate Leaderboards into the game, perhaps into the PvP menu.
Make hotjoins reward glory only on the end on the match, depending on how well your team did (your score – enemy score for example). Current rewards only encourage glory farming which is exactly the opposite of playing for the benefit of your team (eg. capping an empty point with 3 people).
Also, make HotM as glorious as Great Temple of Balthazar once was (and still is I guess). Not 100% necessary but would be really cool. At the moment it’s a very dark and colorless place, especially if you play with post-processing turned on.

1. Different game modes (G vs. G, deathmatch etc.)
2. More build variety
3. Overhauled ranking system (Team Ranking rather than personal ELO based)
Charrov – Engineer
1-Matchmaking
2-True rewards
3-Build variety
1. Solo/duo quere
2. Duel function in mists
3. gamemodes like Capture the flag; TDM; GvG ( best with Prices where both guilds can set 100G witch the winner will become)
1- More game modes variety (this game needs this ASAP, keep only conquest for e-sport if wanted and the new modes only for FUN, take a look on Dominion or ARAM in League of Legends)
2- More viable builds (make some more risky movements on balancing/adding/reworking skills or you will never have more than 2 viable builds per profession)
3- Add better rewards and epic to the game (I still remember how cool was winning a Hall of Heroes match in GW1 and your team automatically broadcasted to everyone in the game)
1)soloq
2)matchmaking and exclude 1-15 ranks from ranked play or put them on their own league
3)build variety
In this order of importance
1) Separate Q and Ladder with Random Maps on tourney
2) New game type
3) Build variety (maybe with new game types some builds that are currently not usefull can have a place on meta)
Guild ladder/leader-board in game
More game modes
Better progression/rewards
1) Build diversity
2) More than 1 build per class
3) Did i mention more builds?
1. More build diversity
Give me viable builds for focus and staff elementalists, and more viable offensive options for their traits, and I’ll play it a lot more regardless of game modes or other issues.
Also, create more situations where control-driven builds are more viable, and create infrastructure where party support builds can be focused and fun, without forcing the player to watch health bars the whole time.
2. Solo/ duo queue separated from full premade
Fighting against premades happens very, very often, and is the biggest reason for most of my match losses. It’s frustrating to play in a match where I know right from the beginning that my team is at an unfair disadvantage. I feel cheated everytime I lose against a premade and see my leaderboard rating falling deep down. It’s very frustrating.
3. More game modes
I would say this is as important to the diversity of the game, as more builds/ roles are. But I prefer more builds to play with, than a new game mode with the same old builds. In the end, I spend more time focusing on my character, than on the maps…
Other issues…
- More custom arenas’ options for the fun of it (more deathmatch support, pve racial skills, etc). Also, a player queue system for a spectator to participate in a server’s match;
- Improved map rotation for tournaments;
- Improved reward system;
- Build template system that can be saved and shared;
- Streamlined build creation – no reliance on shops and stored collections; being able to change traits’ investment without resetting the whole thing;
- HoM divided by region;
- Improved lf party system;
- Being able to enter CA/ ranked matches without talking to NPCs;
- Current meta is balanced, but should still be toned down a little bit: bunkers are a bit too extreme in pug teams; mesmers’ burst speed is too high; hgh engineers are powerhouses; etc;
- Improve targetting. No right-clicking targetting. Option to skip pets (except clones) in tab-targetting. Disable leap/ escape hybrid skills from auto-targetting, like RtL. Reconsider how targetting interacts with stealth, once stealth ends – make stealth hide targetting, not break it;
- Make vulnerability and weakness stronger conditions. Tone down protection, and rework how retaliation ticks or the damag it deals. Add an inverted-quickness effect. Make blind and aegis stack to affect several hits at once, but make them last much less – and then reword some skills, like the underpowered elementalist’s dust devil, by making it apply several stacks of 3-second-ish blind.
(edited by DiogoSilva.7089)
1) Dueling.
2) sPvP helping me build my legendary (no, not more obsidian shards, already maxed on those).
3) Hot Join’s ‘Play Now’ button always bringing me to the same type of game (not sometimes 8v8 sometimes 5v5).
1- SoloQ
2- Play vs SoloQers and not premades
3- Premade vs Premade only.
1_ solo queue separated from team queue
2_ better rewards for pvp, nice rewards for solo queue, super rewards for team queue
3_ fix MMR (no players with little experience with players with super experience)
4_ fix ladder (invisible rank for people who don’t play and/or lose ranks if you don’t play for a while (more than 1 week))
1) Really soloq that work with a decent slipt and matchmaking
2) A tool to find Teams in pvp to boost the pvp community
3) A bit of balance on Hgh engi and ranger bm need a bit of nerf
Guild Leader
- remove downed state in PvP or at least make it an option in CAs.
- balance weapons, traits, build diversity in this game sucks
- new game mode that doesn’t involve standing in circles
1. Guild vs Guild
2. 1v1 Tournaments with a decent reward ranking system. (Tittles, rank specific gear sets usable outside spvp)
3. For sPvP and for glory of the all game: add more skills to each class.
Daydreaming wish: scrap currrent mechanic. Bring back cross class skill system. Add fully customizable stats/traits table to add even more diversity.

‘No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world’ Robin Williams
1. 1 day suspension for anyone who leaves the match, ban for anyone who leaves too many games
2. Remove downed state from pvp, it makes no sense at all.
3. Buff warriors, they are useless.
1. Heroes’ Ascent! (or if 0 chances, GvG), GvG could work perfetly, like arena teams in some cases, since we can have 5 guilds – and with it, monthly automated GvG tournaments.
2. Separated solo que, or a unrated que.
3. New drops from win reward chests, like tradeable mini Svanir, Ghostly Guild Lord, and other items, so PvP players could get some money from PvP.
4. 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 deathmatch. 5v5 is too much.
Fear The Crazy [Huns]
PLEASE MORE GAME MODES. I love pvp, tourny and hot join. Yall built a game filled with endless enjoyment, but I feel like yall are not utilizing the best game ive played in a long time to the fullest. CTF, TDM, DM, King of the Hill, Rush(ala Battlefield three), Arenas with varying themes, the only limit to what yall can do is your imaginations. I look forward to seeing what yall have instore for this year, I do hope you add SOMETHING to pvp cause, man iam getting tired of the same maps and the ONE game mode. Please Anet, throw us pvp folks a bone. I have no gold cause of my pvp addiction, at least let me have fun. lol Thx again for such a wonderfull game
1. More modes (dueling, arena, ctf, etc.)
2. Solo queue separated from premades
3. Matchmaking that actually works and leaderboards for previously mentioned.
- necro balance
- warrior balance
- balance in general
1. New game modes. (CTF,etc) : I kinda miss Huttball (lol)
2. Option of getting tier 5 mats via salvaging pvp items to bring in some cash for players who don’t pve a lot but want skins and such. I have no problem but some people are dirt broke from sPvP only.
3. Retailiation gone. (25k dmg dealt is stupid, and no amount of skill or reaction will help in this case.) IF two guardians attack me with retaliation up do you really expect me to stop attacking? while they beat me senseless and I wait out an almost never ending boon?) I have pvp’d in mmos for the past 13 years and while the only skill base from pvp is reaction time, having to stop all combat and just stare at someone is pathetic.
1. Different game modes (duels, arenas, deathmach, capture the flag, guild vs guild)
2. Solo quene!
3. Ability to disable downstate in custom arenas
1. More active and situational use of skills, pets, minions, phantasms
It’s not fun to just unload your offensive cooldowns while your pet does everything for you on automode, and the only pet control you have is a single skill every 20-30secs. Micromanaging and having control of basically “two characters” (or more) at once makes it less brain dead, challenging and fun. You can of course leave the simple, automated option for beginners, but give more advanced players the option to do so.
Phantasms should be managed the same way – specially seeing how braindead and strong the phantasm build is now. Give the phantasms more skills and a way to control them – just pressing a button and watching them unload for 5k-8k dmg per attack is only fun for so long.
Basically get away from the “passive” mentality to making things more active and situational, rewarding intelligent gameplay.
2. New game modes, the sooner, the better.
This is on the top of almost everyone’s list as we can see. I know the devs are also fully aware of this – how can they not be? No one can make a world class mmo game nowadays and think that players will be satisfied with only one pvp game mode. The only reason I can think of that a new game mode isn’t already available is that they are saving it for an expansion.
New game modes are so important that…
3. New game modes.
1. More game modes.
Could be something like CTF or something bigger like GvG and Heroes Ascent.
2. More rewards.
New PvP exclusive skins and minis, some tradeable rewards and being able to purchase PvP stuff with laurels.
3. Skill/Trait templates.
So we can save and change our builds fast.
(edited by Dimman.1078)
1. soloQ and guild/premade ladder
2. daily/(weekly)/monthly tournaments with QP-System (like GW1)
3. spectator mode for TOURNAMENTS and recording function so you can watch a match later (maybe with 1 minute recording delay to the match to prevent misuse)
Love sPvP, but if I could add three things, they would be -
1. Cosmetic or Karma based rewards that are usable/equippable outside the Mists
2. Improved matchmaking
3. Penalties for leaving a match early or extended periods of inactivity away from capture points/map objectives
1) Fix the copious amount of bugs that still litter the game (as an engineer, I can name 3 without even getting help – Scope, Overcharged Shot refusing to fire because I’m rooted and my target isn’t directly in front of me and going on a ‘misuse’ cooldown, and Elixir F rarely bouncing a third time… if second – if it actually worked, it might be worth using reliably as a 6s cripple + decent damage)
2) Incorporate some new game modes. No, Spirit Watch is not a new game mode, it’s a twist on the original. I see what you’re trying to do, to make every map centrally focus around capture points with a minimum influx of outside wincons, like ‘kill the guild lord’ and ‘capture the relic’. But some other modes would be a nice change of pace – I got burnt out around rank 16-17 from sPvP because it was the same crap, different map.
3) Fix the balance. I’m aware that you’ve stated you’re going to split between PvE/WvW/sPvP, so do it already. You can’t swap 2-3 skills and say you’re doing it, a lot of us are expecting GW1-levels of fine tuning on your part. If warriors are bad in sPvP, don’t buff them across the board – they’re already one of the strongest options in PvE. You won’t buff ranger/necro much more because they’re already ‘up there’ in sPvP, but they’re pretty terrible at most end game PvE content (relative to other classes). I’d like to see you actually doing something in this regard to make every class viable in every format, not some kitten here because they excel there.
1. Balance-this comes from having multiple good builds per class
2. Working matchmaking
3. Points for defending
3) A Heart of the Mists worthy of being our lobby area:
The 5 racial capitals and Lion’s Arch, for the most part, are breathtakingly beautiful. In stark contrast, the Heart of the Mists, in my opinion, is dull, uninspired, uneventful looking. It possesses neither the attractiveness nor the scale befitting a staging area in one of the core parts of the game, the part that aspires to be an eSport no less. I don’t get that wide-eyed awe in the Mists as when I’m in the 6 main cities, panning the camera to ogle at everything.
So I think it’s unfortunate that for sPVPers, the Mists is our “main city”—what some of us will be seeing most of our GW2 lives whenever we’re not in a match. Meanwhile PVEers and WvWers get to take in the sights of the Black Citadel, Divinity’s Reach, Lion’s Arch as they wait on WvW ques, attend to Trading Post matters, form dungeon parties, etc.
A Heart of the Mists as a zone in all of the 6 main cities would be especially nice, as now it feels like we’re in a hermetically sealed, sparsely populated hinterland, separate from the rest of the game.
YES. I’ve always had in the back of my mind that the Mists were just bland, boring, and generally un-epic. HA in GW1 was a giant cavern with enormous doors, which you “entered” with your team to fight and hopefully make your way to the coveted Hall of Heroes. THAT had an epic feel. In the mists, I imply feel like I’m simply queueing up for some FPS minigame action (which, now that I think of it, could be what they were going for).
Back on topic though.
1. Build diversity / viable team support specs.
Note: support is not limited to healing / boon-botting. I’d like to see many traits and weapon skills / utilities reworked with a team-based atmosphere in mind.
1.5. Reduction of spike damage
Sort of goes with the first, but I think that the ability of a single player to instagib with a simply cheese combo hurts the game more than helps it, and really has no place in a teambased MMORPG.
2. A combined lobby across all servers.
There absolutely MUST be a larger pool to form teams with, otherwise hotjoin will continue to reign supreme. I’d much rather see this than a LFG tool, by the way.
3. Obligatory: new gamemodes.
4. Increase rewards for winning.
One reason hotjoin is a mess is that running around in a zerg will likely earn more rank / glory points, regardless of a win or loss.
Speaking of rank…
5. An actual meaningful rank system.
Again, I’m going to cite GW1 HoH where rank was given exponentially if you continued to win and progress through the maps. Good players earned much more rank points that bad ones in the same time frame, acquired higher rank, and received larger kittens. Obviously, an exact system like this isn’t going to work for this game; the gamemode / tourney system / everything is too different. But anything is better than what we have now, where time spent playing is king.
Ele / Warrior / Guardian
1) Make more viable builds per class
2) More game modes like hoh in gw1
*3) Daily Automated tournaments and montly automated tournament *
1. Improved matchmaking system : by that I mean a way to make sure that when i go in tourney I end up with people who will communicate and know how tourney works instead of having a rank 20 ; 2 rank 10 and another rank 35 like me and having the rank 10 don’t know what they should do while we fight a team of premade of rank 40 (it has happened so many times it’s getting embarrassing)
2. In Game Duels
3.More Game modes (you can start by making spirit watch a real capture the flag map) and actual rewards because tourney chests are just useless after a while
Other than that I know you guys are willing to make the sPvP in GW2 awesome and I thank you for your effort. Keep up the good work but try to bring in the different game modes fast so we don’t get bored too much
