1. Solo queue.
2. Working system to prevent matches from starting when one of the teams has fewer than five players. We don’t care if it kicks everyone out to the mists.
3. Rename tournaments to “ranked random match;” team tournaments to “ranked team match;” hotjoin to “practice match” or “unranked match.” Make both accessible from anywhere in the mists as well as at the same NPC.

These are my three desires for this game.

1. All of WoW’s battleground maps and gametypes. (warsong gulch, alterac valley, etc)

2. Death Match arena for 2v2 and 3v3.

3. No more mandatory traits. Traits that are mandatory should be baseline for the class.

If you want all what is wow.. got and idea.. play wow.

1. More game modes, personally I got burned out of our only game mode really quick.
2. Option to remove down state in custom matches.
3. Underwater balance. Its horrible fighting in the water. Just horrible and unbalanced. Maybe adding an underwater medium range finisher would help too in this situtation.

Additionally (though it doesn’t make the list for me— sort of relates to point three), I think some more interesting PvP achievements could go a long way. Currently literally every achievement is merely quantity of games played, not really giving players anything to aspire to. Imagine if in PvE the only achievements were those in the “Slayer” category… there isn’t anything to do except keep cycling through games. Achievements like “summon a golem in a tournament match (as a result of 26 stacks),” “resurrect three allies in a single match,” “acquire Stillness while your team holds all three points,” “down 3 opponents simultaneously with a trebuchet,” etc. etc. are necessary if you want achievements to be of any interest to PvP players. You could even have ranked only achievements which grant titles or interesting rewards; achievements like “win 10 ranked matches in a row,” or various other non-cheese, skill-oriented achievements.

As much as we all want a revamped system, there are simpler ways to add incentive to PvP in the meantime, otherwise we’re all going to burn out.

- Special, more rewarding, monthly tournaments hosted by ArenaNet.
- Separation between spectators and players. So the number of spectators doesn’t interfere with the number of players.

Haha no, not quite yet. I’m still learning and find gratification in improving my game every day. That said, I would spend a hell of a lot more time in SPvP if there were incentives there… as is, it’s the last thing on my list and something I would like to do a lot more of, but there’s no reason to.

Obvious one that will never happen in this game is a map editor that lets us create different game modes and maps. most competitive esports play with user created maps not dev created maps. just how meta is figured out by the community, map design should be figured out by the community. The community is faster and more adaptable than any design team at making the maps that meet the expectations of the community.

one of the most off putting things about pvp in this game is that the devs think they should know how the meta should work. taking the classic, we know what you want approaches.

- seperate SoloQ and teamQ / Rating for every character
- more skill cues less cheap mechanics (like HS spam/minion master 1v1/Phantasm+stealth mesm etc)
- Matchmaking that doesnt open games in which i cant gain any rank if i win but lose like 200 rank if i lose

1 More Game Modes, Conquest gets very boring after an hour

2 More Finishers, Tired of rank finishers and spending tons upon tons upon tons of usd to stock up on gem store finishers that won’t be there for more then a month…

3 Adding better rewards, currently there is a reason and use to pve & wvwvw you can obtain cool things to show off in both. For PvP, out side of titles there really isn’t jack squat to play for. In Guild Wars 1, there were some cool looking skins that were only available in the pvp zone. Why not bring that concept back, same thing as other weapon skins in gw2, you have a one time option to make that skin pve or pvp.

for number 3:
I’m referring to Envoy Weapons from Guild Wars 1
Maybe 100,000 glory per skin?

What would you like to see most in GW2 PvP? no matter how selfish or absurd or unlikely it is to ever happen. Post your top 3 personal wishes for PvP in gw2, maybe devs will glance over and get some ideas ;p.

Mine:
1. Dueling in HoM
2. Ability to use skills while jumping/falling
3. Ability to use town clothes in combat

Out of curiosity Neglekt, if you could only choose 3 things to change/implement in sPvP, would that actually be your list? Not that I dislike your suggestions, but would you actually put those as the top 3 priorities of changes needed in sPvP?

Each to thier own of course, I like your ideas but can’t see how they could take precedent over real meaningful changes like solo/team que with ladders and plenty of other suggestions already mentioned in this thread.

I already know a lot of that big stuff is coming TBH, these are just my “pet peeves”. Things that would make the game more enjoyable for ME ;p

Yeah me too, I ended up changing that one out for an unranked queue though just because I think that unranked queues is ultimately more important to facilitate casual growth, and there are only like 2 or 3 town clothe sets worth wearing anyways right now and it might be weird to see everyone running around in MK set lol.

1. More amulet stat choices and stat customization. Currently most builds are forced into full DPS or full bunker.
2. Build diversity. Fix awful trait lines to give compelling choices. Most professions have cookie cutter builds because there’s no good alternative, not because one build is so good.
3. Improve spectator interface. There are too many flashy graphics. You can’t tell which team a ground effects or other abilities belong to or even players. For example, only khylo, make treb fire colored based on the team. Boons and conditions are really important, but the icons are small.

A lot of people want more game modes, but I’m going to side with ANet and say that Conquest is clearly the best game mode for GW2. Deathmatch/Arena limits variety because of the simplicity, and capture the flag quickly becomes stale when you have a bunker flag carrier on each team holding their opponent’s flag and can’t be killed. If there was more build variety, you’d see a lot more gameplay variety in conquest.

Separate solo queue is crap. Separate leaderboard sure, but if you don’t like getting farmed by premades, make a team. Don’t ask for them to divide the already small playerbase just because you don’t play well with others.

1: Alternative game modes, especially arena.

2: Improvement of glory/rank system and spvp rewards. Keep the rank grind just introduce many more rewards that can be purchased with glory such as more skins and cosmetics (dyes or gem shop items maybe?) . Also more cool stuff like /rank (allow in wvw also!) to show pvers your awesome pvp side. Maybe show pvp rank in guild roster.

3: Weapon set/trait balancing for each profession. Improve lots of useless traits and weapon abilities to open up new builds!

1) More game modes, particularly solo/team death match sort of environment.
2) Some character growth relative to pve. Even if its just gaining karma and experience from playing pvp, saves having to spend time leveling in pve when you play the class in pvp allready.
3) More focused balancing. The current change every month/two months feels slow and counter productive. Both in balancing pvp and how every other mode of the game STILL seems balanced around pvp. Do you guys actually realize how poorly some of this stuff translates to wvw? But back on topic, more focus, transparency and movement with overall balance and making weak combinations more viable.

1. More Game Modes
==>As it currently stands, conquest is quite a bland game mode to base all of Guild Wars 2 pvp around. I would love to see a variety of game modes like those that were present in the first game.

2. Balance
==>Currently, most of the professions still are plagued by useless traits and broken skills. Beyond that, some professions skills pale in comparison to what other professions are capable of.

I play Ranger a lot and I would love to see the Longbow improved and Spirits reworked. Other professions as well are looking for the same thing.

If Anet wants Guild Wars 2 PvP to be popular and also wants to simply improve their game overall, they should work on class balances and trait/skill fixes and reworks.

3. Toggle Right Click Targeting
==>It took me a while to figure out why, but targeting in Guild Wars 2 felt clunky and broken. Then I discovered that by me simply trying to move the camera, I was inadvertently losing and changing targets.

This has been a problem countless people have faced since launch, and I cant believe it still exists. This is a key thing that needs to be looked at not only for Guild Wars 2 PvP, but for the quality of Guild Wars 2 gameplay in general.

I don’t know, I would actually dislike it. Using skills while being able to jump would just lead people to bunny hop during the whole fight. While yes, jumping wouldn’t actually help you in this game I still find the movement annoying.

1. Rated Arena Deathmatch w/ great rewards (2v2 / 3v3) among other new game modes
2. Weapon Skills remade – Impressive spells / effects that feel satisfying to use. (most classes have boring skills that look like variants of other skills. Especially for warriors – their skills don’t look or feel impressive at all – they are just different slashes, lunges, spinning)
Weapon runes should also apply a visual effect to the weapons.

1. Solo que and team que split as well as for the leader board.
2. New game modes(prob one of the most popular requests now)
3. Ability to sign a team up(permanent roster) That you can add/remove people from(1 or/to 3 teams per account)(Separate leader board for teams using team names)(Ability to see Matchmaking and team members rank/mmr from the “team browser”)(Added banners and gear for teams)
4. More uses for glory, extra guild upgrades for PvP, more items in PvP( guild glory booster banner, team flag/marker/spray paint logo)
5. Build Diversity, if possible without affecting current builds too much
6. Many bug fixes on classes still out dated and urgent. Many skills may need relooking and many users have giving excellent advice on what may work.

8. adding teams(similar to having a guild roster, max 20-25 players per team, have history and logs of games in teams tab(this can be put underneath custom arena tab) there is a need for team management system)

- New rewards or recipes. And not just armors or weapons.
- Ability to use ALL SKILLS midair.
- Save/Load options for builds, like Guild Wars 1.
- Weekly updates for minor bugs/exploits and balance.
- A bank/AH in the Mists, and not just pvp lockers. (why 3 pvp lockers btw?)
- A new game mode? Not a deathmatch, something like King of the Hill would be better, and multiple exit to avoid spawn camping.
- Fix bugs in already existing maps, like invisible walls/obstacles.
- Please. For the love of god. Remove the confirmation for recyling pvp weapons/armors.
- There are too many adds in this game. Pets, clones, phantasm, rock dog, elem etc… The AI is playing for you way too much, there is no skill in this.
- We can still shadow step/blink on top of the wall on Foefire, allowing people to kill the lord without destroying the door. This is a huge exploit.
-Remove RightClick targeting. Turning the camera should NOT make us lose our target.
-A better daily/monthly. Give us something useful, and more objectives.
