I hate to say it, but traditional MMOs did it right in this case.

Having unique skins and interesting PvP-aquired gear that is behind a rating hurdle, or gained from various Season rewards is actually a good idea.

The gear doesnt have to be gear, just skins, and people would be ok with it.

Think about the bronze/silver/gold cape trims from GW1, these were prestige, gained by the best teams when they became the top tier in GvG Rating, and the unique emotes gained by the top tier HoH players.

There needs to be a little more for PvP players to aspire for, when thinking about going big and trying to become the best. Glorious armor is a joke, but at least it is a step in a kinda-right direction.

The kitten hodgepodge tournies that are being held are the issue there, nothing “official”, no automated tournies, or proper ranking/season for teams to compete in proper tournament settings in-game everything is pretty much community run and noone knows it exists 1/2 the time.

Honestly, I would just settle for infinite ranks. Give us something to keep working towards!

I would still be playing if they had anything to keep me working towards.

They could just look to existing games too, take WoW’s model and balance it too GW2.
They should add stuff like season titles (based on mmr), season cosmetics. It would be perfect to add stuff like that to the expansion. Atleast I would like, that there would be added more to pvp than just Stronghold.

No, I mean, like, for you to wear. You have a llama and a llama-related hat.

Since you can actually wear the hat in SPvP, whereas you can’t even whip out the llama.

I really hope stronghold isn’t everything for sPvp only players that would be pretty bad, also stronghold isn’t even expansion only stuff you will get it for free in the base game.

So far really disappointing x-pac for pvpers I hope they still have stuff to announce.

The fact that they took miniature llamas and tried to make them an “exclusive PvP reward” just shows how small of a kitten they give about PvP exclusive rewards.

You poor mmo vets have never seen a proper ladder or ranking system. If you had, cosmetic rewards wouldn’t mean anything.
