Sometimes, there is clearly a best...
I came onto Twitch hoping for some good Gw2 gameplay, and I got exactly what I came for!
I second this. He is my hero
I concur wih that statement.
Yes, but you can’t forget JAMESVISTA!!! I still have a screen shot of ROM drawing the stuff on his forehead and giving us a nip slip o_O
Jamesvista and others, you are my hero

Rom’s “RomOnRum” stream last night.
Also, ROM wins everything. I was laughing so hard.

That was hysterical. The constant screams of anguish when a new donation came in…
oh kitten , I missed it. And the VoD without twitch chat is not the same. :p
Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!
Throw out: Hotjoin!
I have three words for all you delusional folks:
Magic Toker is the best streamer period, no if’s and’s or but’s.

Aaaaaha. So some random dude who streamed some PvP (and probably announced it on reddit or so), I guess. Okay. Thanks for the clarification.

Not sure if I misunderstand you, but Rom is pretty well known.

You clearly don’t have much involvement with the PvP community, lol.
EDIT: First person zerker warrior was hilarious.

LOL I am actually concerned I watched his stream yesterday. Hes okay right? Hes a really great person, and I hope he didnt wake up in a bathtub.
Sure, people like Toker, OEggs, and Helseth are entertaining streamers. But ROM yesterday was just plain legendary. Not saying he’s always the best, but that was quite excellent.

See, I’ve heard of the guild. They won WTS indeed. But I have no idea who their members are… and I kinda doubt most people in here knew before they appeared (and won) at WTS. After all, it was hyped like a sensation in the style of “David beats Goliath – previously unknown team beats (the demigods) Abjured!”
You clearly don’t have much involvement with the PvP community, lol.
1. See above
2. There IS no PvP-community outside of this very subforum. And I didn’t have the time to watch the streams. And before you ask, I didn’t get to read the blogposts (where they might have been listed) yet… well, actually I have forgotten to do so in the meanwhile. And to be honest, I don’t see why I should memorize the names of every player who won a tournament.

If everyone knew them before, how comes that (apparently) everybody expected them to lose? Did they improve their gameplay by 500% all of a sudden during WTS?

Did you know that Rom was part of TCG along with his teammate Tage before they swapped teams?

Dood, just because you decided not to check up on who’s playing, doesn’t mean that no one else did…
The guys from oRNG have been around for a long time – frankly, most people in the WTS have been playing for as long as I can remember

And part of the old CM…

So if they are so well-known… why was everyone so incredibly surprised that they won the WTS? After all, you would think that well-known skilled players are expected to do good in a tournament, with a realistic chance for the title. Yet, after their victory, everyone seemed to be incredibly surprised, like something unthinkable happened. Kinda doesn’t make sense to me; thus I assumed they weren’t really known before.
Edit: To answer the question; no I didn’t know about TCG. All I’ve seen from TCG myself is the tag written somewhere. And for CM, I know even less. CM for me means Caudecus’ Mansion, and that despite me playing much more PvP than dungeons. ;P
Edit 2: Doesn’t change the fact that I still don’t get why everybody was so surprised about oRNG winning when their players were known to be very skilled before that already, though.

Because Abjurred was pretty much the only god tier team in NA and roflstomped other NA teams so ppl thought “omg Abjured hasnt lost in months dem bois gana win kek lol bur”. The first WTS was won by Abjured and they played against TCG who came in second. Then ROM n Tage left TCG and formed their dream team oRNG and roflstomped Abjured in WTS 2. Months of farming lesser teams didnt do the Abjured any good. Bedtime story over.
PS. By everyone do you mean NA ppl? Cuz the true EU believers knew that Abjured is gonna go down.

I haven’t heard of the people, or the guild, nor will I remember their names after I’m don’t posting this reply. But that doesn’t mean you have to type like a jealous bitty and pretend like theres no player/guild-fans, because reading your post just makes me think you’re bitter because nobody knows who you are or gets excited for things you do.
I don’t watch streams, cause I have lots more fun playing a game than watching other people play games, but at least I recognize that other people find watching to be just as entertaining.
If you didn’t mean to sound patronizing, then I’m truly sorry and understand. That’s just how your post came across :C

Thanks. And with “everyone” I mean what I’ve seen posted by most people in this subforum. The general tone seemed to be very surprised. And of course, most congratulated oRNG. But it really seemed like nobody would have expected them to win.

Lol no, I’m not jealous at all. Why would I. By no means do I think I’m a very pro player. I’m decent I guess, but there’s always lots to learn. Though, that counts for pretty much everyone I guess, so ya. But I’m not one to judge my own skill-level (or maybe lack of ;P).
I really just was confused about this thread, that’s all. Like when the thread was made about the video where Phantaram teaches sodapoppin or however the name is spelled. Some were super-excited about sodapoppin possibly starting to stream GW2. All hail that super-great guy who will potentially bring thousands of new players to the game! And everybody who didn’t watch WoW-streams had no clue who that even is. (On a sidenote; does he actually still play GW2? Or did he give up on it?) And well, after I knew who that Rom-guy is, I just was wondering why it seemed like nobody expected them to win… a team of known good players. Which I got the answer for by Quintoozla now.
(edited by Saturn.6591)
Not to mention Abjured won WTS 1 vs Rom, so I think most people expected a repeat.
Anet should change the elite name “rampage” to “rompage”.
