I get that a lot of diamond/legendary don’t wanna say that there’s a problem with how the game pairs teams. Very few men are comfortable with the idea that their success came from a rigged system instead of pure skill.
And btw most of them, like Caithe and such, they’re teenagers, so whatever, it’s ok.
The question is: why I do have to tolerate a game that isn’t funny anymore?
The answer is: hell, i dont have to.
Basically all my friend list, noobs and pro, in this last month, stopped logging in. All the people i was doing pvp with now is offline, abandoned the game. I am the last, stubborn remnant. I was, i mean.
This pvp system is profoundly anti-social and toxic. It doesn’t promote competitive play, or fun.
I will not regret it.

Ok buddy so its better for the system to have the best player in the world possibly group with the worst if the queue is small enough theoretically and the worst player to get wins based on that. Having people of the same skill level group together is 100% sound idea. Its up to A-net to tweak it so its not so problematic for the lower skilled player. We either want league placement based on skill or we don’t. Forcing experienced players to have to group with complete noobs, Im not even talking about skill level totally just players with thousands of hours of experience being matched with complete beginners as teammates, how is that fairer? It’s 100% not fair. You are one of these I’m suffering people so I want to make it so everyone suffers. That’s ridiculous. The idea season 2 is crafted around is 100% sound it’s up to A-net to tweak it to most reduce or eliminate MMR hell. Going back toward MMR averaging to help lower skill players get carried through more games by luck of the draw getting the best players in the match there is nothing competitve about that. That’s how tons of bads lucked there way to diamond and legendary last season through sheer grinding.

IMO season 2 is worse than season 1.

We didn’t heard much complains about match-making in season 1. It was all about the PRO abusing mechanic (smurfing).

It was not a League breaking issues, like we have now.
(MMR hell at each division entry tiers)

It was harder to grind in season 1, because your opponent team MMR was matching yours. (you had to lower your MMR to get easy grind)

Season 2, is easy soloq grind for 25% of player base and horrible for 40% of the bottom player base that are stuck in division entry. Many of those are competent above average “hardcore” (those that play the game only for spvp) players.

Worse… don’t ever lose versus bad mmr players, cause your real MMR you work hard for the last 4 years got REKT for good.

Reroll and buy a new HoT box to win more games. Buy to play to get abused by bad league mechanic to make sure you buy more boxes to make sure you still keep your addiction. Oh wait… I don’t want to Buy to Win.

It is not a sound idea to provide different competing conditions that makes it harder or easier to advance nor putting team randomly a problem.

Beside, if random, eventually all these guys will have to play together anyway since they are the only ones who will logically make it to the top. So the higher they go, the more the skill get refined.

I have been stuck at tier 3 saphire for days now. I have played at least 30 matches and can’t win just 3 times in a row, no matter how good I am or how good my team mates are.

I don’t blame anyone for paying, because at this point I am close to doing it myself.

Check the gold flow and ban. Oh wait, Anet doesn’t even ban for afk, language or leaving. Just delete the game

I am willing to work multiple seasons for it, it’s just stupid that if you screwed your MMR over before, it’s pretty much impossible to recover from it. At this point, I only play to get my Daily PvP potions for the Guild Upgrades and nothing more anymore.

They almost screwed up PvP worse than WvW. Almost.

Does anyone know someone who actually boosts people? I would love to pay for it, just to end my frustration at this point.

I am sick of losing game after game, only to hear about people who got to diamond in 3 days because of lucky win streaks.

It’s because too many legendary players are not good enough to be compared to top players.

With the skill based leaderboard we had 2 years ago (kitten, I am old), Chaith was top 100 or less… meaning it was in the best 100 on North America.

Now, today… he only wear a Legendary batches that most people with time can have. Most people that played 2 years ago, already moved on. Chaith wins ESL PRO League to show his skill, not grind based rank leaderboard.

Because it destroys everything what’s left of competitive pvp. It takes spot from players who may be good enough for diamond and gives the spot to a player who may be good enough for amber or sapphire. And when that “pushing” is done you have a ton of idiots who don’t know how to play their class in a division where they don’t belong.
This kind of behaviour has destroyed pvp and arena in WoW over the years.

I don’t think what your saying is the case. If you had a higher MMR you’d be paired on your team with better players.

Your opponents ARE NOT matched to your MMR, only your teammates.

Your opponents might have vastly higher or lower or similar MMRs. the way they are chosen is by matching their MMRs to each other and by them being in your tier of ranked. So what your saying can’t be true. It shoul dbe helpful to you to have a higher MMR. You might find the implications of this… disconcerting , but I’m fairly sure I’ve understood how things are matched.

I’ve been saying that gold should have been account-bound since day one. And trading only possible through the trading post.

Every time you see something like this, or raid selling, or dungeon path selling, you know I’m right.

At least in Diablo III they did listen. Gold sellers went poof, people who didn’t really play the game either started actually playing or left and stopped ruining other player’s fun.
