Then start by removing all proc sigils.
You can then look at AI builds and maybe then after that nerf or remove Celestial cancer

Edit: Also, introduce 2v2, 3v3 arenas. Stronghold is a PvE fest, it is not a good alternative to Conquest. Arenas should be basic game type. Having arenas implemented would open up a LOT of new builds that are not centered towards keeping points and teamfights.

Remove celestial and passive play, AI can stay with some changes so that actually it will require a brain for using it properly

Thief might not be as strong as last year
but they’re a lot stronger
than they will be next year!

If every time something is nerfed, we should have back money, thieves should be the richiest class in gw2.
Also this is the pvp forum, and celestial should go from pvp, I don’t mind about pve

There’s nothing inately wrong with celestial. It’s not too tanky and not too damaging.

The problem is, and people seem to ignore this, some classes have hybrid abilities that scale too well with both OR they are too good at self-stacking might. Notice how Celestial Necro, ranger, mesmer, guardian and thief aren’t really “issues”. However grenades tend to work as both power and condition weapons because of the bleed and burning procs from crits as well as condition based grenades. Cele ele is all about a might stacking rotation and constant boons from Arcana, and warrior simply because warriors shouts provides good support (and are arguably the least offensive of the trio). Beyond that, it’s just a medium alternative and is rarely worth using over other extremes (ie Berseker) for the other majority of the classes.

Fix the real issues, please, and stop blaming celestial. There’s nothing at all wrong with a balanced fighter. There are problems however with how well certain builds scale as a balanced fighter.

Yeah remove everything except for zerker/assassin/cleric amulet in conquest. Bravo. Make everything based on 1v1 in conquest mode, only let bunkers that don’t do damage sit in a node so that dps classes can easily do their skirmishers and fall back to safety when their health gets low to get rezzed like 3 times before they go down.
Sounds like a deathmatch instead of conquest

If you remove Celestial there are still 14 other amulets to chose from. Among them there are many amulets that cater to hybridized builds.

Doesn’t change the fact that there isn’t anything wrong with Celestial users that can’t be explained by deeper mechanical issues. 3 builds across 8 classes shows that it’s not simply an amulet issue. If we deleted amulets any time where were 3 “OP” builds using it at a time Zerker Amulet would have been deleted years ago. It’s just not that simple, and the real issues of the classes need to be addressed, not scapegoating our issues on an amulet.

To balance PvP, you must first balance all professions core design, by this I mean:

1) Normalized HP between profession – You can’t expect a fair fight when one profession has 80% more base HP than you, the max difference should be : lowest 15k HP, highest 18k HP

2) Boons and Condition should not be spammable – Boon should have a bigger impact and be linked to medium CD skills ( 20s CD + ) ; Conditions should not be attached to auto-attacks, proc traits, at most you should have 2 conditions applied by skills with a min of 20s CD, condition themselves ofc should have a bigger impact

3) Remove or drastically reduce passive defense in favor of active defense – more skill based gameplay, too much AI/passive defense to call this a fun game

4) Remove or heavily penalize instant activation skills Too much crap flying on screen without much tell

5) Stealth and AI mechanics are broken as hell – The stealth mechanic has no intuitive counterplay, can be abused easily to give an unfair advantage, you should not be allowed to attack-go invisible- attack again – go invisible again…a ridiculous design.
The AI is far too reliable in this game , professions able to hide/kite the opponent while an AI controlled pet does the damage for you, it’s unsightly to say the least and should not be allowed

6) Burst and bunkering are too high – Burst in this game comes in two versions : stealth burst and instant burst both have little to none counterplay when you try to use anything but equally broken aspect of the game : heavy bunkers; both should be addressed right now really

To ask for balance while conveniently ignoring core issues…it’s simply hypocritical

Removal of celestial… ele made launch and there is no customization like in WvW/PvE so hell to the no!!!
