Anet quote:

“Only 1% of all Ranked matches played in season one were a full five-person premade group vs. a group of five solo players, and even then, the win rate for those five solo player teams in those cases was consistently at or above 50% throughout the entire season. "

So you guys just going to lie about things to make proper statements now huh¿

Two years ago this game was AAA. Now it’s just the same as an average f2p garbage game with a development-team full of lying filth making their own show.

Disgusting!

I don’t see how this statistic can possibly be a lie. I only solo queued to legendary, playing maybe 500 games and only a few times I remember being matched against a full premade and of those matches, I won just as many as I would have against 5 solo players. The only real problem is when you get matched against a pro team and get destroyed but I never experienced that and if I did, I would have enjoyed it so much because I love watching the pro league and it feels awesome to play with/against pro league players when I have occasionally been matched against one and to engage in duals with them to see exactly how much worse than them I am, lol. Really though from my experience the statistic is not a lie and matchmaking was fine throughout the league.

the statistic is undoubtedly true. they have the numbers and they ran them and all that.

what it lacks is perspective.

for one thing, 5v11111 is not the only seemingly “pretty unfair” matchup — anything with a difference in premade size of 3 is pretty bad as well (41v11111, 5v2111, 5v221). however, the reason this number seems oddly (too) good is because of the way matchmaking was making pairings. full premades in the lower tiers of play were prolly simply given harder matches against better players, and game/build knowledge or class proficiency gave the solos the advantage against better communication. in the highest tier of play, this simply cannot be true, because game/build knowledge and proficiency equalizes at some point while communication doesnt, giving a clear advantage to pro teams queuing together.

hence, a couple more numbers will be interesting to go with this one. one or two which include all matches with premade size differences of >=3 or >=4. and one which restricts the sample pool to matches with 5 man premades including at least 1 legendary division player.

but dont expect them to let us see those numbers. especially if they look bad, which i suspect the last number would look extremely bad.
