hi guys
i want to talk about down state
as per now the down state is so useless , most of the skills you hardly use
if its 1v1 you better off bleeding than try to do something and even in group fight you just w8 and bleed till something happen.
and in group fight with all the condi power creep you need good op support to res you

now we know quickness got nerfed as it should so no fast res or stomp

but what about to give some new edge to the down state skills which might be game changing or contributing to the down state effect

the healing – i think it should be not interrupted when getting hit . it should force the enemy to constant hit you to take your hp away

the aa – i think the necro aa is the most appropriate skill as power necro if you remember in down state could do nice dmg to low target . so i think the AA cross board should be buff to do more dmg for the last grasp in life the get more adrenaline to push their dmg more. this way even in group fight a down state ally can do good dmg
the second attack which is some kind of evasive attack – usually some sort of cc or skills which give you 1-2 to stay alive longer
most of them are good but
mesmer create clone. now if the clone had the same hp and armor of the ally and wont be easy to notice than it might be good skill.
thief just shadow away but if they shadow step further it could be better as two step walking the thief will be next to you
ele get vapor so maybe add 1 more sec to it

all the rest skills are fine as they got some sort of cc but i give more dmg to them all
with thief after shadow he lay a trap
mesmer the clone attack harder
ele will get vapor explode which does aoe dmg

the third skill
i think it should help you gain some burst hp and aoe dmg or group support
also it should be rdy to activate at the start so i can choose what to do and not be force to sit down and w8

like warrior can rally for short duration – no change
ranger can res with his pet – no change as the ranger can do the dmg with aa while pet ressing
guard can heal and dmg around with symbol – but maybe get boons to allies on the symbol like protection for 3 sec
rev – get healing from the mist by the amount of dmg done with the skill
engi – get some healing with the explosion
thief – when in stealth get heal per sec . stealth duration increase to 2 or 3
ele – should be aoe immobilize and giver regen to allies around him
mesmer – the illusion does dmg but when it dies give hp to the mesmer.
necro – leech hp from the well

i think it will give some nice moments and real opportunities to the down state. as per now it could be deleted as it so useless

also to over come so many resses i think the points should be changed

if you get someone down than your team get 2 points. if he get kills than another 3-5 points

so even getting enemy to down state give you points and you dont have to w8 till the enemy is dead.

I agree that the down states should be changed, but disagree that the damage should be increased.

I think the problem is how some down states can be effective while some classes have no useful downstate abilities.

There should be downstate themes that you can choose from — consistent for all classes

1. Self Healing — 3 skill would burst heal

2. Team Support — 3 skill would give allies within range boons Or CC enemies

OR

Have a special downstate skill

Class Specialty — 3 skill would do special ability -- 3 death cooldown or only available if you get a kill or something or only if your team is down in points

Class Specialty skills possibilities:

  • Guard: Symbol of hope – Give allies 25% health or give allies the green CC bar that the lords have.
  • Rev: ???
  • Engi: ???
  • Thief: Suicide – kill yourself and re-spawn instantly without re-spawn timer – respawn with 10 sec of swiftness and 10 sec of stealth
  • Ele: Refresh – Reset all allies Heal ability
  • Mesmer: Teleport – teleport to owned node, or allie not in combat
  • Necro: Minion Master – spawn all possible minions to protect you
  • Warrior: Eye 4 Eye – if target is 25% health insta down them

You get the idea, give a way to change the tide of the battle.

Dont think that is a viable option nor would it be beneficial to the gameplay. Getting the stomp or rezing a downed player is part of the strategy of the game.
