being a jerk is a God given right in this country, and I have every right to call him out. I understand stormwolf’s supposition, however, to assume that there are 40 people just roaming about, when the PACT had a strategy in place and there were at least 4 guilds in that borderlands, is an invalid argument. On reset night, there is no way that these guild have their afk’ers in there. There are commanders on that can handle a defense like that with half the numbers he had available. If he can’t arrange things to at least try to save both, then he has no business with the tag on.

He had Maguuma flowing into the garrison from one side and DR from the other with all supply being cutoff from both directions. I know there were some BP trying to retake supply camps so they could run back to garrison to maintain seige but we killed them.

You can’t maintain seige defense on the first night of a reset when you don’t have the supply camps. They had to push us out the hard way.

Not sure which server you are from but last night is the FIRST time I ever saw a huge group of people with different guild tags ignore and avoid chasing a smaller group and stick to their objective. And that occured more than once.

It’s typically easy to derail such a group and take advantage of the zerg mentality. That did not happen. Impressive discipline and communication for a mixed guild group.

Maguuma is essentially one big guild. Public mumble makes it so everybody, doesn’t matter what guild you’re in, can be receiving the exact same instructions as everybody else… This isn’t to say everybody uses it obviously, but a decent number of people do.

Pre-October we had a lot of coordination issues, but the public mumble was a major help for our server. It helps that it’s been embraced relatively well as well, some servers nobody uses their VOIP channels.

That’s not to say that scenario doesn’t happen either…we can be distracted by shiny things depending on the situation :P I am from Maguuma though, dunno if that’s what you saw.

Something shiny could be gold. Worth investigating.

I feel like this is a troll, because you have to read it in order to find out if you don’t like it and.. never mind. But what a couple of you guys are talking about is crossing the line on the forums rules. Take your personal spats and arguments to your own forums or duke it out in in-game mail or PMs. There’s already a mod post on page 2. Seriously…?

That was most likely our karma train last night. Habsburg Princess (I think I got the spelling right) was leading us around to help take pressure off NE tower.

When Commanders from other servers come to defend you, it should be pretty obvious you made the right call.
I don’t know if you are trolling or not, but don’t go looking at what’s in front of you in team and map chat, without considering what is actually going on underneath. It is easy to blame the Commander because of the whole “When things are going well, everyone congratulates the soldiers, when things are going bad, everyone blames the leaders.”, but instead of coming on some forums and directing your rage at one person, try to see the bigger picture.
Mich was one of the three Commanders that were agreed on to lead on the map on reset night. When the other two got dced it took them a while to come back because of the queue. The same queue hindered pulling a 4th Commander from a different borderlands and while there were others present on the map, they were dealing with smaller-sized operations.
If you don’t have a Kerrigan with the zerg, then they turn mindless.

I feel at home now! It’s quite possible with a few more matches this close we’ll all be happier than a complete blowout. I’m impressed with each side so far.

I can tell you… Maguuma, you are very insistent on doing the breakout in BP BL. You threw that commander at us at least 5 times. The first time we were all huddled inside of the tower… after the commotion came the server reacted and we were able to hold the fort down inside and out. Shout out to Diaosho who was helping keep that tower held.

Let’s pretend something of importance was posted here.

You probably got mesmer portaled on top of but didn’t realise.

Maguuma does have a lower population compared to the current T4 servers, even though we’ve been at that tier for much longer than all 3 of those servers. We’re just not a server that gets large transfers (both on or off it) like others seem to get.

There’s certainly been nothing in this match to suggest to me that BP has less population or coverage than Maguuma has at all. I’m actually beginning to suspect those guys might have a little more than we do. DR might have a slightly lower pop compared to BP and Mag, but not by a lot I think. Not enough to complain about population anyway, that’s for sure.

Any server could win this match up. Just gotta put in the work.

DR is getting the outmanned buff in 2 out of 4 of the zones during EST primetime for reference. What’s it like on the other servers?

The BP zerg in BPBL is the funniest thing i have seen in WvW so far. Its literally a ‘roaming’ zerg. No objective, just run as a zerg and chase down everything they see, its hilarious.. and sad.

I never had to use my big heal and all i could do was get you down close then your fast cooldowns for heals would reset. lol fun tho

Haven’t faced Mag, but AR & BP …. well lets just say yes we have encountered that. From what I’ve read BP lost some of their numbers.

Man, I think BP has enough people to field large numbers in their own borderlands, EBG, and Maguuma. Quite unlike our current state.

I’m pretty sure it was the bacon and beans.

Just curious, what did you guys (devonas and maguuma) think of the BURN zerg in EB last night? we had pulled in about 80 people and im curious to see the effect that it had on you guys… just curious…

If BURN spends their time mostly on fire based puns, then I think they’re great people.

I love when people complain about zerg and numbers. It means we’re doing something right.

BTW, would you call defending against 30 breakout events no objective?

Going by what you’re saying I guess we should leave 5 people back at our borderlands and let you guys come in and take stuff. Hmm, not sure that’s a good idea.

Firstly I would like to thank you for the awesome fights we’ve had so far.
I by no means am a regular poster (quite the lurker in fact) but would like to raise something to your attention.

We (DR) apparently have a truce with BP to not hit each other’s BL or anything on EB (except SM, thats FFA). I do not speak for everyone on DR or even {my guild} but I personally will not be complying to these terms.
The way I see it, it lets BP get a ‘free’ first place spot while we (most likely) get nothing (a possible 2nd, lol).
But, I like how as soon as it gets challenging for us, we have to roll over and take it in the kitten by allying with another server.

You are a smart person, sir High Roller :P This is some intense fighting on our borderlands right now!

Mag has been fighting siege on both our keeps in our BL for past several hours from both servers… It’s actually quite exciting

Its exhausting. I’m out for the night (morning). Its been like this for nearly 10 hours straight…
