We really are.. it’s been a super see-saw couple of days and it’s so close it could go any way.

Hope the upper tier is treating you guys to a tooth and nail tussle.

The funny thing I noticed about TC when we fought you guys was , you are like the opposite of what people would think. The further behind you get , the more tenacious you get.

We are in the fifth position , and that seems to be where we belong at this point in time. We are slowly getting better though.

You folks put a beating on us. We learned from it but we never gave up. That is one thing that hasn’t changed about us.

Sometimes it may seem like two are “ganging up” on one but I wouldn’t put money on it. It’s most likely that two parties have, for a short time, a common goal. An example is this weekend, TC had just golem rushed us at a keep. My group of 15 decided to go roaming and ran across the golems getting ready to hit Briar, that Yaks Bend was defending. We hit the golems, not because we wanted to help YB but because we wanted to kill TC. So while it would look like we were helping YB, we weren’t and of course the TC golems ported out to somewhere else as we started to hit them and YB poured over the walls and killed us. So while it looks like YB was helping TC against us, they just saw a group of FA and wanted to kill us.

As a Guild Leader and Commander in FA, I can honestly say I have never been asked to collaborate with another server. So unless there are secret meetings I am not invited to there are no server wide alliances in this matchup.

Congratulations – You have a picture of me where mesmers hide to portal others up. Roksha ported myself and 2 others up with him, and decided to abort considering Aidan was fighting off a zerg by SM. I stayed however, to scout out the inside of Anz if the need be to take it – which we did. You’re screen shot is a moment in time, which you were not part of what was going on at the time therefore you didn’t see the portal. You also ignore the 4x Roksha said “I portaled us up there.” It’s funny how people decide to put their opinions on the forums and try speaking for an entire server. As I said before – gullible, narrow-minded, and not very smart. I’m sure to the 5-6 people who “saw me exploit” in a place where you can get to from inside Anz (which we had just lost from Yak’s Bend) will continue to stick to their story and I could care less. At this point Anet would have investigated and found that these people are WRONG and this is a moot point. Have fun today on EB guys!

After about 12 hours of both Yak and TC trebbing SMC from the north and SW gates (while not attacking eachother, mind you) TC finally got SMC.

I was there for the final defense (after beating back the initial wave) of the keep and there were no Yaks in sight…

Then I stopped wondering why players kept insisting that Yak sold out to TC and agreed to help them take SMC. After that, I knew it was true.

Oh look, an FA member complaining about double teaming…. again.

Yes, but then i realized that yak is just the weaker server looking for something to do in EB. My statement was corrected in the proceeding posts.

Also, is it possible to have the same match up 2 weeks in a row? Where no one in the lower tier scores high enough to move up and no one in the above tier scores low enough to move down?

Yes, we could rematch at reset.

A rematch is looking likely, unless significant changes in score happen to either Yaks or Crystal Desert. FA will almost definitely be against TC again next week.

Yes, it’s possible and even likely at this point. I hope there is a rematch and numbers are back to normal. This week has been horribly boring due to not having the man power to significantly attack borderlands. That’s across the board, but particularly on Yak’s side. Just logged in a few minutes ago, saw everyone mostly sitting in their respective thirds, logged straight out.

It’s likely we will have a rematch with the same colors too.

I personally wouldn’t mind facing off YB and FA again – as I said before, this is a close fight. We are all doing very well and it’s a learning experience for all 3 servers.

I’m curious what an FA vs CD fight would look like since we haven’t fought in a one week match. This match is almost perfect though so it’s great if it continues.

It’s relatively certain that next week’s match will be a repeat of this week’s.

However, just like this week’s match failed to give an accurate representation of all servers due to the weekend event and new PvE content, the next match will be affected by the US Thanksgiving holiday – thus numbers will once again be down Fri-Sun in primetime, at least. The holiday won’t have any effect on those in Europe, Oceania etc.

I ‘know’ YB is a stronger server than I’ve seen in EB this week, because I saw what you folks were capable of in our match with CD. I know you’ve been sitting on numbers that either give you outmanned, or only slightly above it, as have we at TC. I’m hoping you get the chance to play to your full potential in the following match.

Anyone who is complaining about a 2 vs 1 apparently does not understand the concept of WuvWuv.

Here is some proof that each server is fighting each other from ULTD on Fort Aspenwood perspective. We had 18 (at most) on at one time last night and faced off against TC and Yak zergs of 30+. It was great fun and really showed that no one server was targeting the other only. Oh..and the badge farming was great fun

I think it’s just because TC is the unofficial RP server that everyone assumes we’ve used our social powerz and engaged in backdoor diplomacy with the other servers. When really we’re all just bumbling around attacking whoever is in front of us at the time.

Never really heard anyone accuse other servers of becoming allies against mine until this week, I wondered how people could organize this, and what each allied server would get out of it.
I usually just ignored the idiots yelling it in /map or /team chat.

I figured that IF there was an alliance, it would only be to kick the new guys (FA) out of the 3rd tier, since Yak and TC had been there together first.

I thought this morning that it WAS true when after 12+ hours of TC trebbing SMC and Yak doing the same for almost as long, only to see Yak disappear when our second level gates were open. Yak could have easily overwhelmed us after the first wave of TC was killed but the didnt. But then I realized that Yak either had no leadership at the time, or didnt want to have to fight TC for the keep as well as defend it, and was jsut waiting for a weak moment in Fa to take advantage of us in hopes of catchng up.

So, thanks to the commander/guild leader above who said there is no secret negotiations.

In reality, you cant get a whole server to be on the same agenda… jsut liek you cant stop the newbile player from chopping wood in the middle of a 30 v 30 field battle… Too many guilds, too many independent players, and no Real way for an entire server to be on the same page.

EDIT: Oh, and I will be telling the random ‘CONSPIRACY’ guy in chat to “be quiet” and stop using /map /team for garbage useless propaganda

It’s kind of a running joke now in all the tiers of Wuv Wuv. Any time a server is not winning the match — oh, well that means the other two are teaming up against us.

1v1v1’s is just a shorter way of saying there are three 2v1’s happening at all times.

Opportunity is the one to blame here, not conspiracy.

RE: 2 v 1 – its the game design. For example when FA came out with the early lead, Yaks and TC should have focused FA. Now that TC is leading FA and Yaks optimally should be focusing them. This is what ideally keeps matches close and helps address population dynamic discrepancies (which are the ultimate match deciding factor). In reality though, for numerous reasons (i.e. no real incentives, pugs, habits, ease, commanders influences etc), this is unlikely to always play out. Also camps on all maps are going to be randomly flipped all the time by people looking for xp/karma and SMC due to its location and importance is a magnet for aggro from both opposing servers.

Its been a fun week, and looks like we will get another one next week.

700+, huh? I did see some OBEY people running with GODS flipping supply camps in YB Borderlands before I logged off a couple minutes ago.

All servers are doing the emote laughs. My current toon dies a lot as I’m levelling up (only lvl 30~) and pretty much every time a lvl 80 takes me down they do the laugh. Well done, you took out a toon more than half your level, pat yourself on the back.

Anyway, the easy solution is to turn off emotes if you can’t handle it. It’s a carebear solution but solves the issue. There are always going to be people who show bad sportsmanship. Every PvP game that I know of has some level of taunting.

I’ve seen more /laugh emotes in this match than all the previous matches combined. And not from any one side but all sides. I think once one side starts doing these emotes it just encourages the other sides to do it as well.

I don’t know why but they are getting a bit out of hand this match.

I know another big SF guild left their server for CD so it doesn’t surprise me that more areleaving. From what I heard, the server is falling apart. New people are welcome on FA of course, but I am wondering why OBEY chose FA. Anyone from the guild reading this thread?

The FA recruitment thread just confirmed OBEY moved to FA. It also stated they are primarily a PvE guild, and from the numbers I’m hearing very few of them do WvW.

Your math is wonky.
Even if most of the incoming players are pve, more players still means more players will be doing wvw.

Someone on FA has to explain this one to me. On TC BL we had been fighting for a foothold and succeeded and finally pushed through capturing the west keep. During this time YB was doing the same thing in the east and had captured the east keep. So do we keep the pressure on TC and go for Sunny or maybe Garrison. Nope. We swim the lake and attack the east keep. I don’t get it. TC is having to split forces to deal with attacks on the east and west side but we decide to let up and help them out on the east side against YB. Makes no sense whatsoever. I don’t believe in 2v1 alliances because I like a good free for all but when the other guy is helping you out, why go all the way to the other side of the map to stop them?

I would also like to say I have never…never experience a graceful player, bow or salute to me, even in very good fights. Good for you who do it, but have been playing since beta and has never happened once for me so it is very rare and certainly not common on any server.

FA has made some terrible strat decisions in the last two days, we are lacking communication and our supply camp control blows.
We have a lot of room for improvement in all timezones.

I killed one of your Asuran Thieves (someone from PRO) outside of moles a couple days ago, I wanted to salute him, but he WP’d immediately, maybe that’s why you don’t see it? Some people just don’t wait around, I don’t.

I swear the intellegence of most of FA is going down right now.
I see people running around like headless chickens when defending towers when there is a cannon right them that isn’t being attacked.

Right now we lost dawn’s eye wall to a superior catapult because the people defending it where too scared to aoe the catapult.
Aiming ballista’s at single targets when they can pierce 5+ enemies, using aoe’s at gates, rather than walls with enemies on them and etc, this is hardly the same FA from several weeks ago >.>

It barely matters. Usually if get the chance, I’ll give a bow or even a friendly nod if people need to get through the jumping puzzle, which I don’t ever attack first in. But really, I like to message the other player and just give them a quick “Good fight.”, as clunky and the process to message them is.

Anywho, it seems I spaced out and missed some discussion but really, the good thing to remember is that for whatever on the battlefield ribbing or whatever, this is a great match between great servers.

And really, can we ask for anything more fun than that? It’s awesome to have the matchings work from time to time, eh?

I agree, I am typically preoccupied in WvW and I do not take great offense to it really and don’t pay much attention to emotes in general to be honest, be it good or bad. And just because someone didn’t bow or salute doesn’t mean they didn’t appreciate the skill or fight or whatever. I have seen plenty of good sports on ever server we have played. I was just saying.

The best solution I can honestly come up with is…….More Commanders, and definitely more zerging.
