Yak’s Bend makes a huge and impressive showing for the weekend and then – BOOM – Crystal Desert’s Oceanic guilds lay waste to the point ticks during the night while the rest of us slumber. Meanwhile, SBI is having fun working with what is left of our server population.

As an SBI player, it’s disheartening to see minimal coverage during the daytime and the complete absence of it during the night. Oh they did do 1 siege for the spawn, which was hilarious because we destroyed it while on the invulnerable steps. What got me was that they doubled our numbers while we were making our way to Lowlands, yet they had to siege us from there. Made me wonder if they felt just a tiny bit threatened…or if they were that bored.

I wasn’t on at all yesterday, but I’m pretty sure it’s just boredom.

I’ve got to give it to CD, even though during N/A prime time we (YB) take a lot of points, they still never give up, they keep fighting until they get a foothold and then take that opportunity to regain their land. I’m at awe at their patience and persistance. All I can say is well done!!! I have yet to see a server with as much spirit as CD. You guys are awesome to face, thanks for the fun =] p.s you have a great oceanic crew, not the biggest I’ve seen in the last few weeks (i.e kaineng or DB) but you definitely have the strongest night crew i’ve seen number for number.

SBI, I hope you get to fight in a tier that you can be competitive against soon!! YB knows the feeling of fighting overwhelming odds, and how demoralising it can be. For the last month or 2 we have been stomped nearly every week by servers that obtained a lot of transfers. Although you don’t have the numbers to compete with YB and CD, the guilds on your server are the most formidable I have seen from any server. The only other guild I can remember that was a formidable as your guilds was [PiNK] from TC. If you guys had equal numbers as us I am confident you would stomp both us and CD.

Yaks Bend, I’m proud of our awesome reset fights and achievements these last 2 weeks. Lets keep the great work up! win or lose let’s just have fun and respect the servers we fight. Both SBI and CD deserve much respect as they have shown much to us too.

I’ve got to give it to CD, even though during N/A prime time we (YB) take a lot of points, they still never give up, they keep fighting until they get a foothold and then take that opportunity to regain their land.

Yesterday was definitely a test for CD. We were in YBBL in the morning, broke out, we built five golems to try and hit Hills, but you guys showed up and slammed the door on us. I had to leave all of them, unused, sitting near the waypoint… they despawned.

Then we moved over to CDBL and tried to help push that epic Bay assault through. I set up that siege nest and we had to be fighting you inside Bay for half an hour, back and forth, treb shots and cows falling everywhere. You finally closed the outer long enough to wipe out the siege nest. Sigh. Log off. We’ll try again later.

Come back later on Saturday night and the entirety of EB and every keep on CDBL was blue. We broke out on EB, seized Jerrifer’s, got wiped. Broke out again, countered a treb down inside lowlands, were counter-mortared, lost the tower. Broke out again, this time sent a crew out to seize supply camps in the rear, countered another treb down before our treb was destroyed by that kitten vista treb. I think it was around then when we saw that we had retaken Garrison on our home BL. If it wasn’t for that bit of good news it would have been tough to keep going.

Seized Rogue’s and Aldon’s, built up pressure on lowlands, kept you guys busy in the rear seizing supply camps. Finally, two hours after we started, we broke down the gate on Lowlands with golems and trebs and took back our keep. And even from then, it took another two hours of hard fighting to re-take Wildcreek and Klovan. I look over at CDBL and all 3 keeps are green. Awesome night.

Props to the YB’ers we were fighting on EB, for almost every clever siege placement I tried to come up with you had a counter ready.

Man, this is the first time I’m disappointed.

1. How did siege razer get inside when the door was closed? ( i made sure to tank him the entire time, while my team repaired the gate – and after repair, i went in through the door, a minute or two later, gate/wall still intact, then razer gets in :/ wtf)

Anet better fix that bug.

YB has … a very young force with a lot of up arrow’d players making them a bit soft at times …. In a few weeks a lot of those up arrows won’t be quite as squishy which might make subsequent weeks tougher.

Not sure which time zone you play in. I haven’t noticed many underleveled players from YB in this week or any other.

From CD borderland to EB and back and forth. You guys will stop at nothing in tearing down CD players, sieges and buildings. We only managed to go on defensive and couldn’t do much on the offense.

I don’t find them particularly skilled at all and nine times out of ten they can’t beat me in a 1v1, let alone a 4v1 (which seems to happen more often). At the same time I find that YB players are the first to gloat, teabag, dance, and laugh over your body after their group of ten appears out of nowhere thanks to culling and runs a train on you. THAT ALL BEING SAID…I will say that I have met some YB players that have been great opponents and it is obvious that the players posting in this thread are respectful to the end, whether sincere or otherwise. Dunno what to tell you man, your anecdotes run counter to what most of our opponents have told us since launch. YB has a reputation for class, quality, tenacity, and punching above our coverage. In this matchup we happen to have a quantity advantage on the weekend as well, which is why the score looks like it does.

Are you aware of how inflammatory your posts are? You are, on the basis of a few personal anecdotes, slandering the skill and sportsmanship of an entire server.

Dunno what to tell you man, your anecdotes run counter to what most of our opponents have told us since launch. YB has a reputation for class, quality, tenacity, and punching above our coverage. In this matchup we happen to have a quantity advantage on the weekend as well, which is why the score looks like it does.

As I have repeated frequently…this is simply my opinion. I generally don’t pay attention to score; that just tells you who has the largest army. The quality of the fights and the general aftermath is what I pay attention to the most. I’ve never heard of Yak’s Bend having a reputation for class or quality but I also never paid any attention to lower tiers until SBI started sinking in the lineup. It’s possible I just seem to run into some awful Yak’s Bend players repeatedly. Either way, it’s fun to kill them.

I’m honestly not quite sure why anyone is getting upset to be honest. I haven’t attacked anyone directly. People make generalizations about SBI players but I rarely take note because generalizations are, quite simply, generalizations. If it doesn’t apply to you then why take the comments as inflammatory?

I’m curious why you are so willing to dismiss all players from a specific server outright, with sweeping generalisation, based on little more than personal anecdotal evidence. If I chose to, I could dismiss the whole of Maguuma because of some forum posters. but that would be plain silly of me.

It baffles me that people ascribe traits to servers like rude or arrogant, when a server’s population is so diverse. You’ve had some bad experiences with some rude people, but that doesn’t make the whole server rude.

I think best to ignore Too Frisky as his logic is fuzzy and subjectively based on a handful of encounters when many many thousands occurred throughout this week and last and there is also an undercurrent that he is a skillful player. Again bar one fantastic Ranger I have not seen any evidence of skill beyond anything YB has to offer in the field and tactically I think we surpass SBI, perhaps because your numbers are too low to get anything happening.

Anyone else from CD noticed that based on current scores, we are predicted to fight Mag and Ebay next week?

We should first make sure that we play better rather than assuming we’ll fight different opponents next time. We’ll know by the end of the week.

I think a Mag, CD, EBay tier 4 next week is very unlikely. Us Yak’s do have a big numbers/points advantage at the moment but once the weekend is over I expect CD’s more even coverage will eat away at our lead & possibly (probably) overtake us, just as they did last week.

Even if YB was to go to tier 3 it wouldn’t be for long. DB’s night crew stomped us for 2 weeks in a row just a few weeks ago. Combine that with a borderline tier 2 FA & you get a steamrolled YB. CD, YB, EBay is much more likely. From what I have seen, SBI is a much, much stronger server than IoJ & will probably be in an arm-wrestle with Devona for tier 5 supremacy.

I think best to ignore Too Frisky as his logic is fuzzy and subjectively based on a handful of encounters when many many thousands occurred throughout this week and last and there is also an undercurrent that he is a skillful player. Again bar one fantastic Ranger I have not seen any evidence of skill beyond anything YB has to offer in the field and tactically I think we surpass SBI, perhaps because your numbers are too low to get anything happening.

I think my logic is just fine; you all seem to misinterpret what I have said. I didn’t say Yak’s Bend sucks. I stated that my encounters have been nothing but unpleasant and I’ve had quite a few, which leads me to believe that the majority of Yak’s Bend players are less than respectful. That is simply a belief however and I suggested that the players on the forums have been respectful and fine; it’s obvious I have yet to play them.

You’re getting angry over an assumption, not an allegation. If we lived in a world where people were either red or blue and I only ever saw people who were red, would you be angry if I said it was my belief that the majority of the people in the world were red?

As far as Yak’s Bend is concerned I know nothing of your reputation as a server and as I said earlier, I’m sure there are many well mannered players out there but I have yet to play them. Also stating that you are “tactically” superior to SBI and can contain whatever we field is pretty funny. I would certainly hope that a server 5 times our size can contain 20 to 30 players at peak hours.

CD night crews PvDoor skills are good. We get CD’s NA primetime is not quite up there with Yaks Bend but its certainly far less of a disparity than what we will keep seeing during off peak hours and is thankfully more combative, interesting and fun as a result.

I have repeatedly seen what Too Frisky has stated but its honestly not worth getting upset over. Its the interwebs and if some pixels dancing or jumping over your dead pixels bothers you then its time to kitten up. What I find more of an annoyance is when you are pushing back the enemy and they run to that oh so fun invul spot. Seen YB and CD do this consistently even with the huge lead they have in numbers and pts. How bout we stop this and just have some honorable fights.

People like ME drop 36+ hours on the weekend to get a massive point lead because WE HAVE TO. Where as – CD can log in at 2am my time – get a 600+ point lead with little opposition during the week to come back for the win.

ALSO – those who take the map at 2 am, can log off at 6am and leave 60-70 people across all map to maintain score lead against the smaller Asian population SBI and YB. Where as both YB and SBI needs to stay logged in USPrimetimes to keep the points up.

Its annoying is all.

Well, a couple of things:

1) If it is not fun – don’t drop 36+ hours on it.
2) During the US evening time you guys out-man CD heavily. So if you were not to show up – Yaks probably would still have most of the map; unless you are essential to the numbers and without you many people would log off (in which case I am wrong and apologize).
3) Many on CD play during the US evening and are also hit by the wall of Yak’s numbers, where many times all we can do is delay the push. Our group of 5 has been throwing ourselves at your superior siege Saturday night when Yak’s was sieging our keep in EB. We did not achieve anything other than slowing you down and wasting some of your superior siege – but if it was not fun we wouldn’t be doing it.

You have numbers in the evening, we have numbers during the night, SBI is well… I am sorry SBI. Nobody seems to deny that it is what it is.

This weekend I tried to be on at different hours of the day (including late, late at night and early morning) to find some decent opposition. (It sucks to just be able to brute force a map and win cause you only have 50 people on EB) ONLY to find out its Newyear? or something? for the majority of CD. Would love to butt heads with some of the off peak CD Commanders and see how that goes.

Does CD every have a Q NA TZ on EB? Did CD have a Q at Reset on Friday or any point of the weekend? AND did CD have a Q in the last say 8-10 hours?

havent seen a queue in awhile. But then again I don’t play too much on weekends.
