Just seen a Blackgate mesmer tele port in BlueBriar and port right back out while it was ours, I was jsut standing up at top watching this I think its probably that he saw me so watch out guys.

Also another thing I have noticed 6 times we have hit the NW wall of the bay in Blackgate and as soon as we hit the gate (note we jsut hit the gate no swords come up) as soon as we start hitting we see people get up on the wall and start calling other. ?:?? can anyone explain this?

search google for esp could it be that?

Could those Blackgate have been on the other side of the wall as you attacked perhaps?

Under normal circumstances I would say that is Shortbow 5 (Infiltrators arrow)+ Shadow step, but even a thief with increased initiative could only use infiltrators arrow 3 times, plus Shadowstep once within a 5-6 second span. With the cost of Infiltrators arrow, you can’t keep spammin it quite as quick

So he is either exploiting something wrong with the game mechanics, or he is rockin an Ethiopian internet connection and porting all over place due to lag.

Between 0:16 and 0:22 he ports 8 times (Possibly 7 if we count that short one after the second leap as “lag”. Lets just say that he had an increased initiative rate and has 15 points in the “Trickery” tree for +3 max initiative. That gives him 15 points of initiative. Initiative regens at 1 point every 1.33 seconds. Infilitrators Arrow costs 6 initiative. Shadowstep has a 50 second cooldown so if it was used, it was only used once.

So lets just say he has max initiative at the 17 second mark when he does his first “Port”. Between 0:17 and 0:22 he would have gained 3.75 Initiative (5 seconds divided by 1.33), we can round up to 4. So he effectively has 19 initiative within that 5 second time span which is good for 3 infiltrators arrows (6×3=18). If we add in the free Shadows-Step, that brings the total up to 4 possible ports. Even if we knock my initial “Port” total down to 6, it is still not possible within that time frame.

Even if we accounted for the 3 additional initiative you can gain from weapon swapping, and the 2 you can get for using a heal (Shadow Arts V), that still does not add up.

If my math is wrong, or if i’m seeing something in the video that is not there, please correct me. I just don’t see how it is possible that he is doing that.

Infiltrators arrow actually fires a very noticeable arrow and makes a black smoke cloud effect at the end of the teleport. Heart seeker also has an incredibly noticeable animation it’s the one where they fly threw the air with their dagger over their head.
Thief dodge rolls also blur your character during the period of the dodge and you see them move, it’s not a teleport.
Shadow step also places the shadow return “buff” on the thief for the next 10 seconds and I don’t know about you guys but I never saw it pop up even once.

Now if the icoa thief has a terrible internet connection and that is causing them to lag all over the place, I suppose it is possible but I have my doubts they would be able to play properly with a connection like that.

One person claimed to have a spy. One person =/= entire server. I personally have never heard anyone on our server team speak with information they shouldn’t have.

Is it really so hard to let things like this go? Just destroy it when it shows up at a gate, or wait for it to despawn. Why do people take kitten like this so seriously? It isn’t as though you don’t know how much health it has left or where it might be going, and it isn’t as though we don’t have scouts to watch for stuff like that.

I really don’t see the point in dragging every little tiny minor thing through the mud, up the stairs and into the limelight. They exploited a terrain glitch — fine, report it to ArenaNet and it will eventually be fixed. People on our server (on every server, actually) do it too — move on and get back to winning.

You could be our greatest commander, our most influential guild leader, or biggest noob or a jumping puzzle troll, and I still don’t care. You shouldn’t be talking about how people are bad sports when you’re slapping it up in front of everyone and stirring the pot. I am very glad that you do not represent our entire server, just like that one guy doesn’t represent his entire server.

It might be pathetic that people resort to exploits, but it’s equally pathetic for you to spray this garbage up in public rather than reporting it and getting on with life. Is any of this really necessary? Move on and carry on winning. Sad to see TC doing this kitten.

Can you guys just avoid flamming each other about exploit and such which derail the thread to avoid getting lock again? Exploit can be dealt via ingame mail/PM, shouldnt be talk here at the first place.

Great fights in Blackgate Borderland tonight! CDS vs KnT was quite an enjoyable fight! Towards the end you outnumbered us though, props on the quick organization towards the end of the night.

I posted something earlier and I just removed it, if any of you saw it. I decided that what I posted was a bit inflammatory and I do apologize for that. After careful thought, I removed the post to avoid adding oil to the already blazing fire going on in this thread.

If any of you saw the post, I would be happy to address anything in it that you may have read before I deleted it. Please send me a PM and I will speak to you about it privately and not in this thread to avoid any more problems.

Last week our players made a pact to keep the drama off the forums. That includes reports about exploits. Let’s concentrate on the game at hand. In the past I fell into this destructive forum posting and if I can change my behavior, so can you. Finally, we really aren’t at our best yet, so let’s tighten up our strategies and support our commanders. Follow orders on the field and don’t argue in public chat channels. Stay focused, as even if we make third place this week we have still shown the people last week that we aren’t here by accident.

BG and SoR – you folks have some quality players and strategy. Thanks for the great fights the last couple of days.

it’s pretty interesting, when you think about it. we owe a lot of our success to both BG and SoR. not in the “nyah! we took yer stuff!” kind of way. but in the fact that in our previous matches against each of you guys, you guys stomped the crap out of us and we were left with two choices. step up, or step aside. we would take one single tower on our home borderland and fight tooth and nail just to get it and even harder to try to hold it. we failed, many many times. but we learned a little bit more each time. what we didn’t have a counter for the first time around, we added the second. then a new approach would be thrown at us, and the process would continue. it was the most fun i’ve ever had in WvW.

now, here we are a couple months later, and we’re holding our own against you guys. i’m not going to lie, there was a lot of fear in our camp of both of y’all leading up to the match. we knew that if we didn’t bring our A game, we’d end up in the same position we were in our previous encounters.

i’m tremendously proud of what TC’s accomplished so far, and i’m also equally grateful to both BG and SoR for forcing us to step up our game, and being a monumental challenge for us to rise to. regardless of whatever the final score may end up being, if we go the distance with you, that’s our victory.

First time posting on these forums. I want to echo what Phantom said. I definately remember those previous battles. Fun stuff and I agree we learned a lot.

This week so far has been great from all corners of the battle ground. Thank you for a great week so far. I expect it will continue to be illuminating and fun whatever the outcome.

The score not too long ago – extremely close, very fun match.

Shout-out to the Pain Train Choo member I as the TC Norn Ranger had a pretty long and fun fight with down at Hero’s supply camp…if not for a key interrupt I think I would have had you.

This is a really good match up. I really would like to see the invincible spots be moved back a bit. I’d rather the zone be smaller than larger. Took Titanpaw earlier today and a bunch of people just sat up in the invincible spot and attacked/retreated.

It’s inevitable that a server that gets it first shot at T2 is going to rock up in big numbers in that first week. It’s maintaining those numbers that is difficult.
I remember everyone’s posts in week 1-4 of sor/bg/ioj being all positive about the matchup and saying how much they loved IoJ spirit even though they were outmanned. Now it is kitten on them from so many people.

All the best TC I hope you Cain these guys for the next month.

I really do not understand how this is playing dirty. This spot has been known since game released and has been reported to Anet and there is even a forum post about this spot, yet Anet has chosen to leave it as it is. The spot is on both sides, not just on our spawn point side. I use it, I have seen bg use and ioj use it. Everyone uses that spot and your complaining about ppl being smart and using it. Start being smart and stop whinging and maybe you will do better.

So BG commander Kingrpg likes to spam laughs at me, then log out just as I down him, and when I asked him why, respond

You know yea the first 3 or 4 times yea thats possible even though no one was around the area when we attacked I mean I could be wrong, but it just seemed off when everyone is east at the hills and we are sitting in the lonely west. oh well I could be totally wrong.

To be honest, Silk, I watch the map like a hawk when I’m commanding, especially when I can’t AoE the walls and I’m not on a ram or actively sieging, so when I see white swords go up on a structure, we immediately call for it to be scouted in VoIP and get an answer and put out the word shortly. I’ve been the commander all day and we’ve gotten no information from anything other than scouts on our own side. Oh…and the security cameras we set up on the outer walls…forgot to mention those…

Fyi…6:00-10:00am cst Thai/ND/urge hits SoR bl with about 60-90 and when I say up to 90 im not joking. Please SoR be ready unpug TS up be one step ahead!
