Over on FABL we faced at least 50 KN invaders who (after we took out their 5 golems) just dps’ed the door down, so there was nothing our 15 defenders could do.

It’s a little frustrating to say the least, so I’m wondering if you guys are doing something differently than we are, have more people, or just aren’t getting as much attention because KN wants to keep us down in points.

True story. Last week they kept flipping the TC BL. But just like when we were bottom of tier 3, it’s just a matter of logging on, and rebuilding.

It’s a bit of a deal to me because that is the time I play most often. I don’t get to rebuild as much as watching everything get wiped away in a wave of green. And I agree that it is probably just a matter of us being closer in points, but I would rather have some confirmation from the other side before I jump to conclusions.

Massively dissapointed with the KN mesmer in KNBL who decided to teleport hack while downed several times across the map as 3 of us litterally chased your downed corpse from Heroes all the way to Redlake before we lost sight. Does a character death really mean that much to you to avoid it in such a cheap and grimey way?

Just report the incident to the guild and let it go. Screenshot it next time too, so they can identify who it was. Otherwise it’s just a baseless claim in the public forums. :-/

Confirming that there were massed catas. Which incidentally also meant that the second door went down just as quickly to splash damage.

Maybe consider alternative explanations before accusing another server of cheating, then attempting to gloss over your own unsportsmanlike, I – heard – people – say – it – so – it – must -be – true behavior next time. Oh well!

You get more rams for the same cost (4x rams per door), and with more overall damage potential (catas do 50% damage to gates). And with the remainder supply you could even make some of the rams superior… Unless you’re using superior catas in which case you’ll get a full set of superior rams and take those doors down in half the time.

But maybe I’m missing something, because KN’s night crew does PvDoor as their end-game so this might just be a pro-tip moment.

You guys must be tired of running from point to point if you guys react to every call made in team chat. I would get sick of running that much. I guess its preferred to just listen to our scouts in mumble.

Also FA since when does NA primetime start at 3pm!!! You guys started really early today, BT, RET, ZN, GODS all of you guys were out on TCBL. I have to go to bed after defending Hills in TCBL for so many hours. Is it because of spring break / school holidays that FA’s primetime is starting this early?

1.) Ummm. That’s the supply camp outside of bay. Meaning it takes like 20 seconds to reach inner bay from that camp. According to that map chat, outer walls of bay are breeched. Why would anyone ignore a larger zerg attacking their supply camp to wipe the smaller zerg that hasn’t even started on inner bay yet? That would just result in cutting off one of the supply lines to bay and give supply to the enemy zerg. Also opens you up to a pincer if both zergs are watching you and coordinated. Much more efficient to wipe the bigger zerg, make them run back, keep your supply camp, and mop up the smaller zerg after in bay no?

2.) Regarding Spring Break, yes, many places in the U.S. have Spring Break this week. Combine that with St. Patrick’s Day and you have servers with more school aged demographics having a population surge while servers with older populations have a decrease. (Think most people would prefer drinking and getting over hangovers to WvW’ing) A lot of servers/guilds are just taking it easy given this and resting due to the proximity to the big March WvW patch. Hence why servers that have gone 10-0 (BG and SOR) and 9-0 (TC and FA) have their positions reversed for the first time literally ever this week.

I’m confused. Are you setting Spring Break up as an excuse for a server’s performance or are you claiming that only a few specific servers have a lock on teenage boys and girls?

I have to ask Kaineng: why would you hide a mesmer in our valley keep for an eternity to port one lousy white armored necro who eventually was downed in the dead center of our keep before any walls or doors were down except for outer south door. Are you trying to flood Anets inbox with hacking accusations? And why?

I would say Spring break is having a big effect on a lot of servers. TC is very low on people this week. I would expect the matches to be messed up the next few weeks as spring break is spread out over these weeks around the country. Not sure if they have spring break in EU.

This whole thread kinda makes me sad… Can we put our egos away and stop trying compare them? FA is having a good week, for whatever reason you wish to say. Now, both sides need to just have fun and stop acting like kids trying to show better than each other. This match up between all the servers could be really fun, but the constant attitudes is just getting really REALLY old…many of us aren’t in high school anymore, so stop acting like it please

There have been great fights on all sides, so to say otherwise is silly. So please, stop the bloody attitudes, leave old grudges alone, and just have fun. This is a game, first and foremost, so just relax, chill, and everyone get along. We might be facing each other many many times over the next year (who knows, maybe several years!), and I’d hate for us to all just start to dislike WvW because theres old bitterness.

Yes, there were 6 catas right on the gate and 2 on the stairs and also an ac and bali facing the bridge. Very little resistance, but keeping that in mind, if there was a hacker…report them as I would if I came across any that did.

It hardly matters. If you’re confident TC is being hit by issues due to spring break, then you should have no reason to bring it up knowing that you’ll have better luck after the vacation time has passed.

If you’re confident that FA would be doing as it is with or without spring break, or if you don’t care about the scores at all, then you have no reason to jump to a defense.

To the post re: mesmer to necro port …. I’m going on a limb here. It’s likely because there’s very little around, and mesmer was going to go sooner than later. Maybe map chatted saying okay well porting in 5 mins at location ‘x’ please meet. And a lowly necro in the area who wanted some fun popped by.

Who knows.

@ Springbreak … I think it means more day time pop = younger audience, college kids = drunkards on this week ‘we can all agree’ sorry for the label, but they make videos of it for profit these days … and adults still working. Granted you have ‘vacations, road trips, and such’ … but a 15 year old will not on his own accord. It’s relative to the situation, and not at all anything in a negative way, so don’t take it as such. I’m not from TC but I think its safe to make that as an educated guess.

So the change must be relative to the only items that could contribute to change. It’s not like ‘server wide’ coordinated flex days from work. So what could have changed … hmmm …

I still think its close, and will be closer because of it. Hell I look forward to it. I’m on kain, and it definitely felt like heat last night. Tonight may be much of the same. Who cares so long as I can have some good battles, and to those I miss seeing this week, may your week be treating you well and enjoy the time off (if you have)

Darn, you found out we’re the only server with an exploiter and that our guilds coordinate their activities. I’ll need to PM him to confirm the next location. This topic has in no way ever been addressed in this thread already or in many, many, many prior threads so thank you.

Personally, I’m not gonna attribute it to Spring Break. FA might not outnumber is for sheer guild variety, but they definitely have more hardcore, WvW-centric guilds. And they’ve been getting more via transfers lately, to boot. A lot of ours are PvX. Skill, numbers, coverage, organization, dedication – whatever you want to call it, fair chance they’ll trump us on it fair & square.

We had to pull out a lot of stops to do what we did last week, and I’ll be surprised if we can manage it again this week. Might be negative nancyin’, but that’s how I see it.

What I do know is that comparative to last week, TC’s numbers are down (outmanned in US primetime last night, for example). That doesn’t prove anything other than the fact that we have less people playing this week than last – our more casual players haven’t shown up as they did the week prior. FA and KN may have less too. They may have more. They may have the same amount. They may be playing a smarter meta-game.

I’m also restricted to EB, and while I could easily point to several influences on that map thus far this week in regards to performance, it wouldn’t be fair to use that to paint a picture of the match as a whole.

The scores are still reasonably close, but I think it would be fair to say at this point that FA will likely secure 2nd this week, and if population demographics and meta-play don’t change over the next few days, they may end the match closer to KN than TC did the week before – which is great, as nobody wants the first placed server to forever be in first (except perhaps the first placed server >.>). Predictability leads to match stagnation, as FA and TC well know from our previous time together.

Thank you. I always find it aggravating when people attribute causation to coincidence.

Who knows why FA is doing better. Maybe we upped our ppt game. Maybe TC isn’t as motivated to win this week, after winning last week. Maybe FA is more motivated this week. Maybe KN is hitting TC harder this week, relative to last. Maybe FA is focusing on TC as opposed to KN. All these things could be true or false and yet would not paint a true picture, because more factors than that are in play.

Supposition is pointless. Better to just thwack things with hammers and worry about points and ranks later.

Good fights this week!

Well regardless of FA’s much better score ratio in comparison to last, I think this just shows what kind of a server we are. We had a strong weekend last week and wavered a bit but even after that we came back the likes of which TC was genuinely worried about FA getting 2nd place near the end. This week we not only came back strong and ready to fight, but we are also really taking the fight to everyone. So blame it on spring break, call FA a bunch of school kids or college drunkards. In the end we will have our fun and if we beat some TC down in the process the better.

Please, I can still see us coming in first place this match. Never underestimate Tuesday!

Loving the fights in tier 2. Sure beats the hell out of tier 1 also known as Zergfest. Will have some videos up here in the next couple days of ZN’s good times out there.
