Negative connotation comes from the reality that it takes more player skill to compete in small man operations than zergs. There is plenty of coordination and theorycrafting when it comes to zergs, but it’s not the same… that goes for any MMO. Now, not everyone is an elitist, and not every elitist is a kitten… so it shouldnt be an insult, just a different playstyle and preference.

What you call reality, I call subjective speculation. Are sPvP players better at roaming in WvW than you are? I would guess not, merely because they are used to a different environment requiring a different skill set. Just because they come in with a different skill set and strategy, doesn’t make them less skilled.

Players (in) a zerg may be less skilled in your particular area of expertise, but that does not make them inherently less skilled just because they can roll over you with superior numbers. In fact, there may be some “elite” roamers that just happen to be with the zerg at that time. Generalizing a zerg just makes you look like the “elitist kitten” that you mentioned, but I’m sure your probably just a nice guy that respects his opponents and loves a good fight.

In Summary. FEAR is an embarrassment to their server; bad players and consist of players who would all die to me 1v1 or to my 5man squad with ease. They spend too much time on the forums, hence why they are bad in-game, and no one cares.

However on another note, I think it’s kind of silly to be angry over it, considering you were in WvW.

for gvg the best spot is in ebjp under the chest, very large space and easy to control intruders with 2 police force

^ omg the bads are turning wvw into illum; thanks emp undefeated gvg lol/bag drop rate exploiters. Looks like Anet will have to kill the drop rate again its a shame cause the rest of us like breaking even if not making money in wvw.

It is worse than boting at least bots are making real money while screwing the gw2 population. If we are lucky Anet will give out some perma-bans with the video evidence you have provided on these forums even though the videos are not in their entirety.

You will never see HB and LotD run together and roam the map as one big blop. We do communicate alot and sometimes meet up to flank a map sized zerg, simply because the 15-20 HB or 20-25 LotD wont be enough on its own.

What we are trying to communicate is that there is 0 reason for any server to run around with map sized zergs when you have more than 1 guild on the map. It causes ability lag, culling and takes away the fun for anyone involved.

Like I said in a previous post, we do understand that you have to meet up to take heavely fortified and defended keeps. We are only talking about roaming here.

There is 0 reason for any server to run 20-man zergs just to “roam” around. It causes a lack of needing skill and completely removes the ability for even fights when you guys decide to zerg down small groups.

The BG and JQ players complaining about SoR zergs are quite hypocritical in this manner. They have absolutely no issue with forming zergs to roflstomp small groups, but when someone decides to make a zerg bigger than theirs, they complain.

This issue of hypocrisy extends to the group v group interrupt by Fear. I have encountered both SF and AGG interrupting good group fights that I’ve been in, just so that they could zerg us for some easy kills. Do not try to take the morale high road, as your actions are the same as those you criticize.

You would be very hard pressed to find SF doing something that doesn’t have some sort of strategic value. It happens sometimes, like our necro night, but usually we’re pretty focused in what we hit. That said, there is a pretty big difference between a fight you’re having with another server in WvW and one of us sweeping in to mop up the fight and FEAR rushing into a GvG.

WvWis an open pvp map. Be advise, people will die constantly. Unless of course the new patch brings a new map designated for guild vs guild. Here you go arenanet, i think people want some gvg maps

Congratulations on #2! I’d ask if you’re getting any sleep, but then I realized that you’re probably getting more sleep with the baby than you were when playing GW2.

Especially when we were in tier 2 against Bg for so long, I definitely get more sleep now as some of you BGers can attest too! :-P Sad, isn’t it? More sleep with a week old baby and a 2 year old son than with WvW -_-;

Anet has already stated that they do not want to split the already dwindled population into different game types.

So the players have to establish any sort of in-game community on their own. Which is a whole other topic itself as its obvious WvW was not meant to be focused on your server rank alone and yet it is the only mechanic we have.

Thus every single WvW focused guild on both NA and EU servers have created a space within the game for this to occur. Everyone that truly enjoys WvW can agree on the practicality of having this space; and it is very well known. I don’t buy the innocence plea.

No one is QQ’ing, were just establishing that certain guilds do not want to be seen as a group that is able to take part in this community driven event. Just so it is known and that they can be dealt with.

I am from SoR and as far as the GvG wipe goes, I was indeed disappointed when I heard that happened. Just know that most of us would never participate in such a thing. That said, I think you all are being melodramatic.

During my browsing of this thread though, I did see a few posts that struck me as fascinating and I just want so see if I’m reading this correctly… Is JQ really criticizing SoR (or any other server for that matter) for zerging? I thought I was in a bad episode of the Twighlight Zone and I just wanted to make sure I read that correctly. If I am reading that correctly then Pot, I’d like you to meet Kettle!!

WvW is a PvP zone and you will get killed, but that doesn’t change the disrespect as well as lack of skill and class that knowingly wiping out a GvG match shows. Why any guild would make the conscious decision to do so is beyond me, now they are known kittens and a laughingstock of anyone that follows tier 1. I honestly can’t wait to see the jokes in map chat.

Only 2 weeks in and the match-u kitten tale. Maybe its just from my perspective, I have been playing odd times of the day due to work. Same thing happens every day, you can expect the same forces on the same maps doing the same thing.

The forums are the same as well, same ole’ stale bullcrap, same old troll baiting and chest thumping, the only new thing is people complaining about zergs, I still cannot figure out the complaints when we’re all in T1, the most heavily populated servers in NA.

As an honest question, I’d like to ask the people who feel that zergs are bad or whatever, if in their 5 man teams if they have ever killed or attacked a solo’r?

So what happened to that enthusiasm last week from BG? They came in hard, riding JQ day and night without compassion and this week they’ve waned off a lot. There was a lack of guilds on the field yesterday during US prime time and I saw JQ with 400 score numerous times.

I just want to now what happened to Froduu. He stopped showing up in JQ LA and using map chat for hours on end to kitten talk JQ. It kind of makes me sad that he would let a little thing like seaofblackgates losing deter his efforts to convince JQ that they’re bad at PVP.

No real problem with zergs. I and many others have issues of the fights being reduced to, who has more bodies to auto attack. Any player skill jumped out the window, as you just button mash in the hope that something works.

Pray for a patch this month that’s actually going to resolve culling and skill lag. I’m expecting more of a 2 finger salute from Anet though as they push out more care bear content.

We’ve all been part of a large zerg when the situation called for it. Recently the trend by some have been to roam the open map all night in huge death balls like packs of locusts. I personally feel this is more noticeable now than in the past because of skill lag. Up until a few weeks ago I had never experienced it. Not even the last time BG was in tier 1 but who knows

Its not so much that people are running in one big zerg, you can counter that by massive havoc, the zerg can’t keep up, its that the big 70 man zergs cause massive skill lag in a fight. I can’t tell you how many times we were wiping people up only to have skill lag hit us and lock us down. It’s gotten a little worse now too since you can feel it all over the map when two huge forces clash.

Bad form: An offense against current social convention
For those that would argue that current mechanics allow it is not a valid argument against it being bad form. That is equivalent to saying something that is not illegal must be ethical.

It is funny to see all the crying on the forums. I have been in some 1v1 with some JQ only to have SF roll up with 20 people to wipe me.

For the record if what happened is true I personally frown on it (however irrelevant my opinion is).

That said your argument is opinion. There are no agreed upon social conventions in GW2 any more than there are on these forums or the Internet in general. There are compacts made between specific guilds. If you don’t want randoms spoiling the fun maybe the guilds should change the location from the known area. This would probably help with lag, culling and spectators getting involved by accident as well.

I truly do not know of any socially sanctioned 1v1 matches that were general public knowledge and I apologize if I have ever interfered. However, I think it would be substantially easier to distinguish a GvG event from random fighting, especially if there are spectators.
