Is this true? They gave 150 glico to Yaksbend?
We all demand 150 glico for all the other servers because this isn’t remotely fair.
Some server droped to tier 3 and now is only pvdooring all the week because of that…

Not exactly. Anet can adjust the glicko scores used in match making without changing their actual scores as a way to break bad matchups like the 4-server-CD in T4 or last week’s curb stomping YB gave to T3

FA didn’t drop to T3, they rng rolled a T3 match just like YB rng rolled a T2 match (after the adjustment) sort of like CD week 5…

Far too early in the week to know which server is #6 at the end of the week. Most likely, both FA/YB are tier 2 in a week or two..

Judging from how Anet has tried to work around the problem, I think they have more control over matchmaking than they do glicko itself. They do not seem to keen on adjusting actual glicko values, perhaps they feel it might break something if they did.

What they are willing to do is temporarily adjust glicko for matchmaking purposes, as well as reset volatility when re-links happen. It may be adjusting actual glicko scores would get them accused of favoritism and they hope the matchmaking knobs they can turn will solve the problem without it coming to that.

That’s why we reset glicko deviation and volatility when we link worlds. So the newly linked worlds can shuffle into appropriate tiers more quickly.

(Deviation and volatility were not reset with the last linking.)

It was not done on a whim. It was obvious that YB was way too populated for T3. And it was not just YB. It was the linking that was created two weeks before of YB + FC. So it was a newly created entity along with newly created other servers in the match. And it was obvious that the newly created entity was in the wrong place. So devs looked at the match and adjusted the rating.

You realty do not understand what is going on do you. What happen is a dev gave YB +150 just for them to move to t2 there was no % on a roll it was effectively set to 100% by the dev. What this means is a world who was T1 a week before (all be it a low % roll) is now been pushed into T3 due to the bug / dev giving +150 points to yb. What is going to happen because of all of this is if FA dose not comply blow out this week (most likely not going to happen because FA is just not that type of world) they are going to lose points even more due to the bug and the other worlds are going to get a lot more points. If any thing FA may roll back into T2 but YB going to roll back into T3 because the other worlds are getting more points from FA.

Over all defeating all of this and only causing more pain for every one at all levels. All because a dev seems to want to play “god” after years of match ups and work means nothing.

Did you actually read my post? I KNOW the Devs gave 150 rating to make it easier to YB roll up. However, it was not a 100% chance since YB rating was 1798 (making it 1848) while FA rating was 1854. It greatly increased the chance RNG would roll YB up? Sure it did. But my point is that this matchup already had the chance of happening (even if just as much as your T1 matchup) and I’m asking what would be the excuse if it had happened normally? I bet my left arm there would be people crying over saying Arena Net manipulated the roll.

No sry has nothing to do with make it easier to move out but to bluntly move them out. This IS manipulated the rng roll by using a work arone.

Do you even know how the matchmaking system work? Adding 150 rating to a server that is 156 rating behind don’t guarantee a 100% roll when there is RNG involved. But I supose you are too blind to see that.

If a dev states they are giving x number of points just to move them out of a group of fights then they are doing just that the number of points has nothing to do with it they would of given them 400 if they had to to make sure they where moved to t2.

Then why would they bother in even giving a number? They could have simply said “Hey guys we moved YB to T2 and FA to T3” instead.

The fact is: the first roll for YB was BG/Mag/YB (a T1 matchup) while FA rolled TC/FA/DB (a T2 matchup) before they rerolled to reset the skirmishes point bug. It’s clear that they just added the rating and let the RNG roll.

Do you truly think that they added these points just because they wanted to even when they said they wanted to move yb out of t3. Do you think they would of not added more and did another reset if it did not work?

We use word to say what we mean this dev wanted yb to move out of T3 by his action of adding points its not important who dropped down or how high yb went up. It happens to be fa to drop making it all the more telling that they can chose where world go and fight. This is a deal braking / game braking issue.

I go as far as to say this modification of points after the fact is a bigger problem then skill lag culling hacking (more anet hacking the game) bl being unable to get into by some times (something that happen to FA for a good day dropping our points all the worst). This IS how WvW will die as a game type if they keep it up or do not say any thing about it / fix it.

Then you take a lot away from the work ppl do in the week. In a lot of ways it makes ppt at all level s pointless bring back the old karma train only days. And what your saying at the end of the day its not about your world skill or even its work its about its population size that makes the rank system in a skill base attk dodge game by make and not a gear numbers game.

That is the problem the dev effectually said we are doing this and this then k thanks bye and then nothing. There a lot of consequences and line of logic this can go. At what point is a world worthy of being moved up in rank and at what point is a world going to be moved down if ppt is no longer the tool for this. This is a on the lines of changing the laws of physical world on ppl the level of info given is dangerously low.

I get that but to just say your giving +150 points to YB just to get them out of T3 and then talk about a bug realty fast for ranks only to have wvw reset 2 times with no real info after is not good. Even if its a weekend you could at least say more info to come. You got to put some type of effort into the work you do even if it means 5 more mins to say more info to come is it realty that much to ask for?
