sounds great.
What good are xp’s to level 80s? I’ve been using this buff to level alts, but the state of WvW gets worse every patch. At this point like many others I think I’m done with this game.
They spend so much time enhancing PvE, and sPvP, while making changes to WvW that make absolutely no sense.
What good are exp? I use my skill points to make superior siege all the time. WvW exp is invaluable.

world xp is the new xp system specifically for wvw, that type of exp is very wanted by level 80s

I do more damage than Siege, and myself, and my group/guild always leaves the keep/tower to engage the enemy.

This: Weapons sold by vendors are no longer salvageable.
Yet another thing you can no longer do with karma or badges.

Oh wait. WExp is character bound, so if I rank up on that trying it out then switch back to another toon I’m back to square one…so I guess it’s stick on one toon if you want the titles.

That’s just plain weird
It’s weird but it basically means all necro’s will prolly just be able to perma death shroud almost as long as they are in a building.
I thought they could already lifesteal off walls? Or ‘siphon health’ anyway

With 15 points in trait “siphon life on hit” , necros could already dmg walls and contest waypoints.
I think this is actually a typo. Meaning necros can no longer do it.
Some good changes but still makes Zerg > all. Culling is gone but with the meta still being about numbers you will now be able to see the enemies well waiting for your insta cast skills to go off.
Need to see what skins and stats are available for badges before I make an judgement on that. Dungeon skins would be cool but if its just the stuff available from temples then it was kinda a waste since anyone who wvws should have more then enough karma to buy that.
Also need to see the costs on the new badge gear. The pvt gear is outlandishly priced for anyone just getting into wvw and well some of us are sitting on badges we have to relies we have had seven months to stock up.
It was 2 vs 20 but its ok we got’em both!
Nice job ANet! There are a lot of good looking changes to every aspect of the game and WvW in particular. Curious to see how some of them will play out in game.
While you can’t please all the people all the time I think you can expect most players will welcome these changes.

There were more changes to PvE, and sPvP than there were for WvW. I think I’m done with this game.
I’m so sick and tired of being ignored by the develepors. I don’t know why every game mode I choose in every game gets the least attention.
There were less notes but an entire WvW progression system is a huge change. Removing culling is a huge change. Those are just 2 notes.
It isn’t about how many notes there are.. it’s about what the notes are.
They shouldn’t have done anything with PvE, or sPvP. Instead all the time should have been on WvW. They’ve been working on the other two for MONTHS ignoring WvW.
Half of what they hinted at being in this patch, IS NOT.
It’s not like culling could have been any harder than creating the entire array of Fractuls, and the multiple world events, and holiday events they’ve done for the PvE crowd, or the new sPvP maps, and such.
Culling required a system rewrite, which is much more difficult and time consuming than creating a fractal. They had to change the basic way their systems send data, stream line processes, and still stay within bandwidth minimums. I’s a complex process, and is no where as easy as you seem to think it is.

Kind of overdue – was one of the most weirdest “pro” tips that I learned.
Dealing damage through the doors feels really weird – with anything.
But I guess rams will still damage you if you’re on the other side of the gate trying to repair it? Hmm… I don’t like that there’s no mention of anything added defensively to make up for this loss of defensive ability.

WXP is the same as normal xp, its based on kill tag system which means it is pro-zerg, not that it matters because there is very little for small group players in the 8 most boring abilities anyways. Entire WXP system needs a do over, only this time with intelligent, creative people that actually play WvW, creating the system.
Culling is a good change, but considering this was a wvw focused patch I for one am not excited at all and not looking forward to more friends leaving the game because of it.
Anyone got info on relative amounts of Wexp for taking/defending towers, escorting dolyaks, taking/defending camps, etc?
With the changes to catapults defence will be further weakened meaning even less towers will be upgraded and even more reason to just karma/Wexp train around.
Any way to turn off player- titles from appearing below nameplates now?
Really clutters up the screen when each name is taking up the space of 2.

Some needed changes for WvW… but did I miss something?
Under the bug fixes I’m sure I would have seen the UI fix for right clicking on a players name and having the same options as PvE areas. Do we still have to manually type group invites while in WvW? Our only option is “report” when right clicking on a chat name/ guild roster name while in WvW still?
No commander changes either? Still no way for more than 5 people to group privately or try and keep multiple groups under the 25 player limit for orange sword?
Heck of a lot of PvE content on this “WvW patch” they talked about.

I can confirm after testing in game , this is a typo.
It should read, 15 point Vampiric trait “siphon life on hit” no longer allows life-stealing on walls.

If the abilities were too powerful, people would’ve whined and rightfully so. People are whining anyway because this is a forum, but game breaking abilities that scare off newer players and further discourage running alts wouldn’t have been the right choice. So I’m glad they’re “boring”.
I don’t really have anything else to say about wxp as I still personally think it will be fun for my guild to have something else to work towards and I don’t see anything wrong with benefiting zergs because they are still an important part of W3. A lot of people don’t like that, so they’ll leave or go to another game mode. Zergs don’t bother me in the slightest, but I am in the smallest of minorities of players who think that apparently. Zerg on, zerglings.

WvW, we only care if it affects the servers we play on.
Before putting in free transfers again, I wonder if Anet took into consideration the issue with free transfers, and how a mass transfer to Kaineng disrupted PvP/WvW for many servers as they made their climb from Tier 8, giving many servers weeks, upon weeks of interruption, that left a very bad taste in the mouths, even causing many to quit.
It’s bad enough we didn’t get the WvW patch many of us expected.
I think they are hoping that all the light servers decide to consolidate into the medium population servers. or maybe they are hoping people from T8 will transfer off if they are tired of being stuck there. I can’t say it’s a bad move really…at least they are somewhat controlling where people end up now as opposed to before where you could just transfer where ever you wanted for free.

Pretty underwhelming for 6 months of work, the culling is a big one so I’m not completely dissapointed but considering they pushed it back a month, I was expecting more.

I hope my FIRST forum post contributes to the cause of making wvw playable, enjoyable, rewarding… this patch AGAIN totally shows where this game is going when it comes to wvw

Yeah, this patch won’t be the end of WvW, but I’ll be shocked if it doesn’t accelerate the decline.
Hint Hint Anet – your WvW design encourages burnout, rewards the most boring style of play (PvDoor), and punishes or ignores the most fun aspect (PvP).

The balista abilities seem like they might be useful, especially the increased range.
So this is it? The “big” wvsw patch? Culling fixed- dont know if it works because the wvsw servers are down but if yes, great!
All the rest? The simpliest progression system i have ever seen. 8 boring passive skills and some titles. thats it.
Items that nobody needs. Some low level skins, which look horrible
No unique wvsw skins, no good looking (tpvp/dungeon) skins. no ascended gear. no word to bring back the orbs. no improvement to the commander book. no game updates like new maps, new siege and siege skills, new Upgrades.
A serious question. Except for the culling fix. How long did this take to develop? 1 day, maybe 1 week? And this is the first Major update we get since 9 months!(beside the breakout Event, removing the exp for escorting dolyaks and removing the orbs)
Really disspaointed. This “big” wvsw patch ist another pve patch. Like every other kitten patch before.

WvW is a carbon copy of PvE’s backend support. Kind of like the disowned child that they disprove and wish to wither away..
Very disappointing… Culling fix was great, but for the most part this “WvW patch” was a PvE patch and still no Ascended gear for the WvW players. Where’s the equal opportunity? I thought this was Guild Wars, not PvE for Carrots.

For all the complains, PvDoor is more fun to me than the constant zerging has become. If you want badges and loot, then we all should agree to be super intelligent human beings and work together. Just stand in a field without armor and kill/rez cycle each other all day. Also, run the JP collectively and peacefully. That would maximize our return’s on WvW. Actually letting Anet influence us into fighting is the problem. #thesheepweare
Honestly, how massive boulders and artillery doesn’t do MORE damage than your little dagger or my rifle is beyond me.
Because it’s change, I’ll initially not like it. More than likely hate this because being a Builder/Sieger my return on my hard work will most likely be little to none compared to Gankers. So, as I’m poor in the economy for not liking dungeons. I’ll be poor in WvW Xp for not Zerging. Typical!
But, by next week I’ll happily be doing my thing again :-) Most likely you’ll be experiencing the same thing too.
