So, a BP player is upset that one guy from DH got an involunurability, a day after up to 50 BP players were chasing DH players back to their spawn point … after BP took 3rd place DH’s keep while we were outmanned?

There’s no formal community organization on our server, but most of us who are in the trenches daily or several times a week know each other and know most of the commanders, and we all get along. Our WvW guilds are friendly with each other and their goals are to win and to have fun. I haven’t seen what any other servers are like and I doubt I will. The de facto Dragonbrand community is awesome and it’s a lot of fun, even when we’re in a distant 3rd place.

I didn’t know we have a server wide chat system. good to know.

The problem with the website we used to have was set up in the early days and then guilds all left and (presumably) the people who ran the website did too.

The Mumble got set up afterwards, but since the website died because no one was using/promoting it, no one knows the Mumble is there either. :P
I would absolutely love to see more people in Mumble, especially for WvW purposes. We could do much better things with real coordination, even with smaller forces. (Something that any guild that uses Voice Chat for organized wvw can attest to)

EDIT: That is, at least, my interpretation. I’ve been around on Dragonbrand since Launch but wasn’t involved in the website or Mumble administration.

I’ve been in an invuln spot a few times when people decide to just zerg a camp to get it over with. Went afk for a quick snack and upon coming back a few ballistas have been setup. Population-wise, they are that many and bored they’d rather wait I guess.

Things have gotten so bad that even RE is considering moving?

I do hope you don’t blame the match with FA. We were a tier apart in terms of strength and the lack of a strong third server ensured FA would run away with all the points. It was fun fighting RE though. You guys put up a good fight regardless of the situation.

We don’t blame anyone but the fair weather players who abandoned ship when we lost just 1 match. It started a slowly building avalanche of players leaving the server.

I feel all the guilds and commanders that are thinking about leaving (and some that already decided to it), but aww… Darkhaven is such a great server and I really like the people that are still in.

Anet has made a lot of mistakes with GW2 and most are forgivable but letting free transfers continue has to be their biggest. They’ve basically sanctioned the death of servers and the communities people have tried to build on them by keeping transfers free.

I am Edgar, i love how me telling someone not to do an exploit and giving them a basic reason not to do it and hopefully not to do it in the future, was taken as a reason to suspect exploitation. I would like to say that myself and my guild never have nor will use exploits. I hope that you will realize that my comment was one that you on Borlis should appreciate, and not use as an attempt to start something that is non- existent.

They moved to Crystal Desert. They made a post about it in our match thread. Sucks that you have to carry the server now.

I want to express my apologies to DH for having another large guild leave the server. I find it troubling that so many can simply exodis the server in such fashion… I like to feel at home in one server. One day soon I envision Anet making it a cost to transfer servers. I fear that day will be a “Anet favors X server because they implemented this right at that time!” kinda day. We’ll see.

I am sad that GoF left and no one told me, couldn’t even talk them out of it And to leave for CD is even more disappointing. Really sad for Darkhaven. Oh well tier 8 here we come. Shame we came from no where to rise up only to drop back down. Free server transfers need to end. Killed this server.

It’s been great to fight against DB, when I get off work seems to be when BP is playing defense. You guys are a blast to fight.

These small guilds make a server. No one big guild can hold all borderlands together. It is you that we rely on and it is you that we turn to when we need that extra 30 supply or someone to add to a zerg. We will need all the small guilds to work together more then ever now seeing as were loosing more and more people.

I will personally be with darkhaven all the way down. Whether we stop our own fall and stand up or hit the bottom. We will eventually stand and we will eventually get stronger.

If anyone were to ask in Borlis Pass whether they should exploit past the outer walls of Garrison the answer would be something like:

A: No!
B: Are you insane?
Commander: We don’t ever exploit, ever, and if we catch you doing it you can sure as hell count on us reporting you.

We never had anyone ask that kind of thing in team chat, but maybe it’s because we always talk about how it’s something unacceptable.

Now, for a commander to answer: No, they like to screenshot. OMG

Sorry, maybe you never exploited and maybe you never will, but that is a bad answer and it doesn’t sound like you’re telling him not to do it ever, but it sounds like you’re telling him not to do it now and not with this server cause you might get caught.

All others who come here complain about free transfers, look at this guy. This is the kind of leader that you need in your server. Many guilds leave? So what? Eventually you’ll drop down to face servers with numbers similar to yours. Fights in T8, T7, T6, are a lot of fun!

Only care about winning? Transfer to SoS. There you go, you became a hero. Easy.

The question is, do you care enough about your community to stick it out and let the chips fall where they may?

That is why Borlis is not interested in advertising for guilds to transfer to our server. Let us build our community from the ground up. Let us bring people from PVE to WvW.

I bet DH has a bunch of PVErs that can still learn to wvw and help them. Stop panicking and thinking it’s the end. Tell people in your server you will stay and that they should stay and fight together. That’s the attitude that will save DH. Grow a pair.

IF we do leave, we will not go to a top tier server. Its not about winning, its about being competitive and enjoying a good WvW match. This…is not a good WvW match, even though we have many small guilds and PUG’s helping in WvW, and up and coming commanders, RE has always been a big WvW guild for DH, and now that we are the last of the big WvW guilds for the server, we feel it, we have felt it for the past week or so, things just did not fall apart today.

It has gotten to the point where we PvE more now. We usually start WvW from 3:30 PM PST to 2-3 AM PST at the lastest, I myself have regularly put in 6-10 hours in WvW every night for this server, along with my guild mates. We have a good PUG population, but they lack organized WvW practices, we have been so patient, we try to lead by example and teach indirectly, but its like everyday is a brand new set of PUG’s. I must admit though, today when I led, they were really good.

Does exploiting include having spies take screenshots on other server’s chats?

Celebrate the PUGs, celebrade small guilds. If RE is the only big one, help the smaller ones get bigger. Help train the new commanders. Make an alliance and invite them to join. Have weekly meetings to talk about strategy. Tell people often to join your public voice chat server. Have someone develop a community website and tell people to join. Do PVE events and then invite them to join you in wvw next. There are many thing you can do to make your server stronger without needing big guild transfers from other servers.

DKz has been in Borlis since beta. We used to be a PVE guild, like most other guilds we have in the server. It took us many weeks to learn about wvw and also educate those that play with us.

Right now DH’s biggest problem is not numbers, it is morale. If you are telling me you see new PUGs every day, then that’s great news. That’s a lot of people that can become wvw regulars in the future. PUGs are only PUGs for a while, eventually, they become WvW veterans.

Even Monkey Shine has improved.

For real. Fort Aspenwood and Darkhaven = Maguuma’s Bronies for life. We want to play both servers again but population/coverage difference means FA basically could not lose that theoretical matchup. I never cared about getting beat by FA either way since they always give good matches and I always learn a tonne by playing them. So don’t take it as a negative.

In the end, if you are unhappy, the decision to leave is yours but Rethesis is iconic Darkhaven. Also, what about our Fight Club? I’m still in the Fight Club Guild with Rethesis members. If you guys stick around and build up your core, we can get matched up again and take the entire week off to duel below south supply camp. Rethesis shatter mesmer was undefeated last time right? That guy was scary.

Also lol at the 25 minute duel with the D/D ele vs Bunker Guardian. Good times.

There was bickering and fighting and ego stroking no one wanted to work together. They just wanted to sit and complain about another guild and hold grudges and shout who is the best and who are the only ones that Do anything in WvW because they are supposedly the only ones who do anything for this server.

This is one of the main reasons why DH is dying / falling apart.

Well, that’s a problem. But since a few guilds have left, why not try it again. People have to understand that everyone works for the server, even the ones you think are idiots. So you must find common ground. One thing I suggest is having all commanders and leaders in a guild and tell them all to add each other to friend’s list. When one of them needs help, he should whisper the others, when they come to help, that creates a bond between them.

I guess we are fortunate in Borlis because comes reset we know where each guild is going and what their job is. Also, I know I can message people and I will get help from all guilds. An alliance, a voice chat server, a community website, should all be neutral. It might be provided by one particular guild, but any and all players should be welcome there and it should be made clear it’s a public service.

Can we please get a score update for those of us that can’t login at the moment.

It’s like you’re so convinced that nobody plays fairly but you that you’ve forgotten how to focus on anything else..

I would encourage Anet to do all the investigation they’re capable of, because it wouldn’t effect me, anyone I know, or our wvw force or effectiveness at all.

And if it gets the handful of exploiters (That every server has) off of Dragonbrand, then maybe it’ll sooth your paranoia.

Sounds more like 2 or 3 people from BP like to troll (not the mention spy). DB always has been one of the most legitimate servers in WvW, so rest assured that we’re going to beat you fair and square.

Sorry to hear about the happenings on DH. I encourage people to stick around and continue to grow the server.. guilds leaving is in no way a death sentence for your world. Dragonbrand once lost in excess of 1000 people to Sea of Sorrows, but since then we’ve started to bounce back.

Maybe Anet should do some investigation and put this matter to rest. Because as it stands, I’m not confident that we’re in the middle of a legit match-up.

It’s like you’re so convinced that nobody plays fairly but you that you’ve forgotten how to focus on anything else..

I would encourage Anet to do all the investigation they’re capable of, because it wouldn’t effect me, anyone I know, or our wvw force or effectiveness at all.

And if it gets the handful of exploiters (That every server has) off of Dragonbrand, then maybe it’ll sooth your paranoia.

Totally agree with this statement and after this, BP would still be the server planting spy’s in our server to watch our map chat.

If BP is trying to take the high road i’m not seeing it.

I for one had a blast last night fighting in our home BL (Darkhaven). When I got on we had lost most of our BL to two BP zergs and they were at the watergate trying to push on our garrison. I want to give a shout out to Oxcide for quickly helping us organize the map to save the garrison and retake our BL. I was so proud of the way our server fought last night. I haven’t seen that kind of fight out of us in at least a week.

I’m sad to see some of the bigger guilds go and I hope the ones that haven’t left stay and bleed with us. My guild, PD, will be staying till the end.

I would like to personally apologize on behalf of the entire Dragonbrand server that we do not answer questions in the exact same manner that a Commander from borlis pass would do so.

We will try our hardest in the future to emulate your server community in every way possible within our means as humans on this planet.

It’s starting to get disgraceful that you’d come spy on us, intentionally take something out of context, then come post it on the forums publicly to call us out on something that we actually didn’t even do in the first place.

BTW, I’m not paranoid, I’m a realist. I’ve seen enough botting, speed hacks, wall hacks, flying, etc to know it happens, more than we care to admit… but then to openly talk about it in chat, and then be mad at spies?? come on…

Reading alot about BP sending spies over to DB to read chat. We dont need to send spies over to read ur map chat or w.e you guys are trying to accuse of us. We havent done that before and i doubt we will start. IF there is a guild sending some1 to the other servers that is just pathetic. Again like those who use hacks/exploits dont let the actions of a few tools judge the rest of our Server who actually like having fun and dont need to do those petty things to have an advantage.

DH is a good server, We were in DH BL last night had alot of fun fights and saw a great pressence of players and huge grp of RE. BP suffered at launch from ppl leaving us to join maguuma because they said we would never move out of t8. Truthfully it was for the better that those players/guilds left. We hit rock bottom, but we started rebuilding with dedicated players and obv a few transfers over the month(cant ignore tht). But for the most part BP has its core of dedicated players to the server who will never leave. We know this because we have alrdy hit rock bottom and are now rebuilding and working our way up. Those on DH you may be dropping and losing players. But trust me you dont want those guilds if they jump ship ESP for a server in a higher bracket. These next few weeks will def be tough for you guys and you will most likely drop in tiers but once you hit bottom there is only 1 way to go. For those players and guilds that do ride out the tough times, make a personal goal. When Krew found out many players/guilds bailed on our server months ago to join maguuma, we made it our goal to get better as a server and reach maguumas bracket and beat those bandwagoners who left us.

We are not being paranoid about being spied on when the spy posts a screenshot of our team chat on the forum. That is not paranoia, that is something that was proven to be true without us even accusing you of beforehand.

I sincerely hope that the majority of BP is not like this,
the scores are pretty close and we will probably be fighting each other for weeks to come, and I don’t look forward to a month of BP crying exploit because they were finally given a challenge.

I’m not on BP. I’m not sending anyone, anywhere. In fact, I’m on DH, looking at 55 points, because the Grass Was Greener on Crystal Desert and, because ANet has made it Free to transfer servers, which gives whoever did ‘send spies to DB’ that ability.

Maybe it’s not fun but it’s certainly not DBs fault that they have coverage when BP and DH don’t.

It’s a 24 hour game and if your server doesn’t have coverage at all times it doesn’t deserve to move any higher. It only gets worse up there.

BP night caps DB and DB night caps BP, move on already! Each server has a prime when the other server can only bring 20 max. Its not 1 servers fault, just the way the game is played. Overall its been a fun week. keep up the great fights

I’m actually feeling kinda sad right now. First SE then GoF and now RE is thinking of leaving.. :\ can’t catch a break can we.

All I have to say is that even though these guilds have left, or a thinking of leaving, our smaller guilds are stepping up to the challenge. going to give a shout out to some guilds I have seen lately just so the darkhaven people that come to the forumes to read and not reply can see that we are not going down unless its in a blaze of glory.

TRA – seen you tonight in Borlis BL. Good job to you.

Soul – I haven’t played in awhile but you guys are always fast to respond and more then willing to jump down into a zerg to kill seige.

These small guilds make a server. No one big guild can hold all borderlands together. It is you that we rely on and it is you that we turn to when we need that extra 30 supply or someone to add to a zerg. We will need all the small guilds to work together more then ever now seeing as were loosing more and more people.

I will personally be with darkhaven all the way down. Whether we stop our own fall and stand up or hit the bottom. We will eventually stand and we will eventually get stronger.

Great post, this one and all the others from our guys at Darkhaven!
I really had awesome fights in this server, I’ll also stick with this till the end, it’s my home server since day 1 and I really consider it “my home”.
I, atleast for now, just play as a pug, but always team up with people to get camps, sentrys, zerging and defending the best way I can.
I just recenetly got around to do WvW (a month), but since then I play atleast two hours of it a day, sometimes more and I’ve already learned a lot.

Thanks for all the great commanders and each and everyone of you who play with us, let’s stick together in this hard time and get stronger again!
