Do FA WvW players solely role mesmer’s

Playing tonight on BGBL I think we fought about 3 5mans made up of confusion mesmers all at different location in about 5 mins and no it wasn’t the same group and maybe there were afew other classes but really 15 stacks of confusion in about 2 secs
I think they were from AVTR, annoying little buggers :P

That’s just it. We have improved. I am noticing some much better organization from ALL of the guilds. Many of them have started really learning from each other by creating specific roles and builds to compliment the entire zerg.

Here is the facts though. SoR was vsing TC and SBI. SBI is a dead server. So SoR, with there new and improved night crew, completely stomped TC (who has NO night crew) into the ground.

We are fighting FA and TC right now. TC did get some transfers but that’s not a big deal. The huge difference in this match up is that FA received 90% of the IoJ night crew, if not all of them. IoJ was ridiculous in the oceanic timezone. FA has always been pretty good in NA prime time, so adding a night crew makes them a force.

This means our night crew isn’t able to reach the 600 PPT it did last time we were matched up against SoR and TC (both didn’t have any night crews). And by the time we logged in, all our keeps, along with some enemy ones, were fully upgraded. So it was a matter of holding as much as you can.

I don’t agree with that. better organization? really? you lost your garrison, just. without anyone noticing i bet. it happened before, and it is still happening now.

Expecting us to never lose a tower/keep is unrealistic expectations, especially considering the dynamics of your opponents. We aren’t the only ones who can improve, other servers can too.

Anyways, you obviously have your mind completely set on this notion so any discussion to convince you otherwise is futile and a waste of time. So, this will end here.

Anyways, score update please? I like to keep track of the scores throughout the day to see how our crew is doing in each timezone.

I did mention TC and FA are stronger. They improved and are improving. They have upgoing learning curve but BG’s just seems to be flat. I assume you understand the word parallel. I understand what you’re trying to say. But please just chill and think from every angle.

How can you possibly say our learning curve is flat, you’ve played us for one week. Lets have this discussion after 8 weeks of play hmm? You don’t have the slightest frame of reference here to form an opinion.

You cannot compare SORs point gap with BGs in tier 2 because they were fighting one opponent, and neither opponent had oceanic coverage, FA does.

You are trying to make conclusions based on unreliable facts. Just like I can’t say how much FA has improved since last week. I do know, its been fun playing against two servers put together (Isle of Aspenwood), plus TC.

I believe all three of you who are arguing are from BG.

Person 1: My server is better than your server!
Person 2: No, MY server is better than YOUR server!
Person 3: Oh yeah, well Blackgate is better than all of your servers!

Past few weeks, a number of SoR citizens kept telling us Toasters how thankful we should be that we were fighting SoR, since they were a self-professed honorable and respectful folk, instead of BG. They made prophetic proclamations of what it would be like. So far, I can’t help but scratch my head at all that now. Things may change, but both BG and FA members participating in this thread have been highly respectful and have been fun fighting on the battlefield. There are bad eggs on every world’s population, particularly on the battlefield, but it has been far better than it was.

A toast to Blackgate! A toast to Fort Aspenwood! A toast to Toast! And a toast to the Flame Ram!

I wonder if there is more hate between servers than there is in Bg/SoR.

I think TC easily hates SoR as much or more than BG ever hated them. I can’t speak for our server but I know DIS had many colorful names for them.

Within the top 3 tiers, no I don’t think so. Not at the moment anyways. I believe there are several reasons for it, but in the end I think it boiled down to a clash of egos in a scenario where many players from both servers went into the initial match thinking they were better than each other. Then the events, dialog and match outcomes from there spiraled downward into what we have today. I also believe this will change and probably improve over time.

I’m enjoying this match though both in game and on the forums. In fact, I’ve always held both TC and FA in high regard going all the way back to the last time we all played together in T3 in October.

I still think its weird that t1 bought into that and said BG are nothing but forum warriors. Throughout all our matchups you guys are easily the most humble yet powerful server. If I had to leave TC and wanted to stay near the top, I would choose BG in a heartbeat.

SoR relies more on Zergs, while BG relies on strategy and trying to use as little as possible to do a lot.

However, BG Zergs (if they do zerg.) arn’t as good as ours and usually fall pretty easy, they are better as individuals, not zergs.

However, I saw a group of 5 BG kill 20 people, they are really good when they arn’t grouped up.

The Friday afternoon duelfest at the end of our last match-up solidified my appreciation of Blackgate. It wasn’t lost on me that the crowd was predominantly BG and TC (at least while I was there).

This week hasn’t changed my view. If anything, it’s improved it.

I expect better guilds on each server to farm pug zergs, and have mixed encounters depending on the guilds they face.

There’s no point generalizing servers given the limited perspective.

But you aren’t leaving right? RIGHT? Who would keep my low level alts alive in WvW if not you?!?

But back to the topic… yes, BG is much more honorable and respectful than SoR ever was. I (almost) don’t mind coming in behind them in total score. Almost… This has been a fun week all around, despite queue problems and my own personal connection problems. Still a few days left… gotta bring da pain!

To the HB and other BG who just stormed us at the hills in FABL, amazing work. That was some top notch stuff – lots of great cohesion and stacking. It’s just a shame that we couldn’t put up a better fight because 1 person didn’t listen when we said “please don’t queue fortify”.

Top notch stuff though, that was definitely a tier 1 performance, great blast stacking and ability to move on the fly.

The hills FABL fight was great – as I was busy dying repeatedly I found myself fanboying over the Blackgate guilds who were there! Ooooh, HB, some LotD, RK, those guys are legends… Oh wait, dead again.

Great fight at FA Hills. Props to TC for sticking around trying different stuff like portal bombing us. You made us waste all our supplys, so we went ahead and practised some field placements and some new moves while bruteforcing down that T2 gate. Was a good fight, and I know my guys enjoyed it

Just wanted to compliment everyone – BG/FA/TC – for making this, I think, about the only match thread that hasn’t derailed into utter .. well you know.

Had a lot of fun in both Hills and Bay last night in the BG BL. Lots of three way action in the Lord’s room and didn’t even have to pay cash for it ;-)

This week is definitely one of the more enjoyable weeks of WvW in awhile. Keep up the good work.

Yeah that is always horrible when it happens. Hey we got this keep and enough supplies to do something let’s get read to fi… WHO IS BUYING MERCHANTS" we have seen that happen to us also.

Radiant Knights [RK] Was part of the back end of the fight after HB and the others had done most of the ground work. We manged to make a strong push into the top of the lord room and destroy the last siege up there clearing the way.

It was a great fight.

I’m not even going to quote it got way too confusing way too fast. It was late, I swear!

I could have sworn that whole thing started with “I wonder why BG isn’t doing as good as SOR was”. My point (lost in the shuffle) was that having a third competitive server like FA makes a huge difference in how things stack up point wise, and comparing the two is apples to oranges.

It wasn’t intended to be BG > than all you sorry servers at all. I apologize if it came off that way.

The only complaint about you Toasters that I have is you have pushed Feisty out of the spotlight. I want more Feisty updates! The original, not these neir come latelies. :P

Overall I have to agree with Krakahs assesment

Although lately I have been noticing ICoa having trouble fitting all our online members into 1 map. This causes our groups to become spread out between many maps, and our groups diluted with those who are unfamiliar with our strategies, and although many do hop into our public teamspeak there are many who do not.

It makes coordination all that more difficult, and makes it easier to route our groups. However it does give us a chance to familiarize other players firsthand with our play style.

Hopefully that will allow us to up our game even further as a server and provide you with a more challenging opponent.

If you could have seen some of our medium/large group play last week against JQ/SOS (with the old map pop caps), you could get a better idea of what we are capable of.

Another 3 ways on FaBL in Hills! Pretty intense for us low levels just trying to get a couple kills without getting steamrolled!

Then a cry of deepest anguish rises up from the battle, more heartrending than the groans of the wounded. As Peta stumbles forward into the battle, and he knows what has happened. Rage as he has never felt rises up into his throat, but still no sound comes forth. Instead, his rage is channeled into ground-splitting devastation that drives the enemies back.

As his brothers are pushed back across the bridge, Tryce falls to his knees at Ellehnia’s prone body. What has he done?

Just want to say thanks to the patient BG and FA folks in the EB JP today as I spent nearly 2 hours failing my way through it and no one killed me. Even if I did accidentally throw my torch at them (sorry! Have I said I fail yet?). And to the FA that killed me while I was drowning at the TCBL JP … that was not very nice! I was already swallowing water …

Not sure what server/guild it was, but we wiped a huge zerg trying to hide in that underwater cubby on the NW side earlier that night – the only time I’ve seen a full underwater zerg battle with an actual winner.. and only because they were trapped in a cave. Will have to see if someone recorded that.

All the powerhouse guilds on FaBL tonight! Great fights [BT], [EA] and [HB]!
