It was amusing for the first hour, but quickly went downhill from there. Nobody would fight during reset last night, everybody just spammed golems at choke points for easy bags. 3-way golem blobbing over garrison and watching it flip every 10-15mins made me realize how sad this ktran event was.

People are really defending what’s happening right now? 50 people running around in unstoppable golems capping everything, avoiding enemy servers.

A better event would have been disable all seige and walls/gates be perminatly destroyed. Same ktrain for you pve care ears more fights for real WvW players.

I look at it like this, One person like pizza, one person hate pizza, does that mean pizza is bad or good to you, well it up to you to decide.

The difference is, pizza doesn’t crawl off the plate and force itself down your throat, the pizza doesn’t break the pizza parlor (numerous bugs), you don’t force someone who hates pizza to eat it for 7 days they could probably handle 1 or 2 days of pizza but forcing them to eat it for 7 is just ignorant.

They should have put this event into EotM, those that wanted it could have easily gone there for the week. It’s not like EotM players would have been opposed to faster Karma/xp trains.

It has rendered upgrades pointless, there are currently 0 waypoints in all of wvw in the FA/YB/SOS matchup, I expect a similar situation in the other tiers. Gunna be a whole lot of running between keeps this week.

It’s a shame Anet is so ignorant to the WvW players, had they actually listened in the first place they would have seen that it wasn’t the event everyone was opposed to it was 7 days of it. They could have done 24 or even 48 (wouldn’t be happy but I could live with it) hours and then gone back to the regularly scheduled program.

For all the “we are reading and listening” replies we get they sure as heck don’t read or listen very well.

Just popped into EB to see how bad it is.
Everything’s paper and the whole maps empty.

Next week .. we get to take the Super golems in to PvE land .. for the WHOLE WEEK !!

Yeah take a quick glance at the post history of the people defending this, the last two chuckleheads have never posted in the WvW forums before. They are completely ignorant of how WvW works and why this was such a crappy idea.

Do I agree with the Golem event? NO, but I don’t see how this could hurt WvW anymore than the past 3 years of stagnation, the seasons fiasco or the latest AoE blob meta. Instead of crying about it why not make the best of it and join the K-trai. Then turn all that karma into gold when it is all over.

I apologize for the error in wording.I was never any good at composition.I am from Ehmry bay I had observed another server guild.I didn’t want to single out any one group of people because upon reading other complaints this an isn’t isolated case.

Honestly, I will go play other games if other events like this pop up. If its a weekend thing- fine. I can stand by those, but anything past that…

You could already ktrain in EOTM. Why force everyone to do it?

Yup, they should have kept this to EoTM only.

That way if ppl were curious, they could go there, without disrupting those loyal players who are dedicated to both GW2 and WvW.

There’s over 6000 stacks of Omegas on the TP for 3g each, people won’t run out of golems anytime soon, especially those who kept them in their banks/guild banks or have stacks of unused badges.

I’d really love to see something done in PVE that was similar and see how fast it was “fixed.”

Someone suggested making world bosses 250% stronger, immune to conditions and aoe, plus permanent stability. I’d love to see that happen. It would lend some posting here perspective I would gather. But maybe not.

People haven’t figured out that BL can’t run out of golems because the “supply” is an artificial number created by Arena Net to make some sort of economy(that doesn’t mean it’s bad! Just that’s how it works). You will ALWAYS have golems just like you have ALL black lion weapon skins available to buy from the BL (So many ppl selling that many BL skins? Don’t think so^^)

Just tried to enter the golem when using healing signet on guardian, didn’t allow me to keep the buff. Maybe they fixed it.

I often wonder if Dev’s from other games play GW2 and go back to the office on Monday and laugh with one another about what the Anet Devs did this week.

In a few days from now, once everyone has burned through their stash of golems, it will truly become a money war, and whoever can field the most omegas will win.

Yes you get karma during normal wvw but there are a lot more fights to be had and people actually defend and upgrade stuff.. Most refer to karma trains as running around, not defending and just capping stuff over and over again. Karma train is just a term as I have 17+ million karma and really have no need for it..

Sorry to go off topic, but dude. There are ways to turn karma into money, which you should really invest in with all that karma lol.

- Trebs one shot people. They are unblockable and undodgeable.
- Svanir and Chieftain apply blindness that can’t be cleansed.
- Insert another game breaking mechanic that doesn’t affect PvE.

Every guild should just make their own Golem kitten. Also can I save and use some of these pictures, maybe in a signature?

A guild of 5 people just did the golem buff glitch and wiped our zerg of 40 in the cap ring easily. This is beyond broken.

Good thing I’m going away for few days so I will miss most of the remainder of this “event”.

A really poor attempt to inject something different into WvW. It really shows how clueless they are about WvW.

Its not terrible, when i drop allot golems so others can use it free i dont see any one complain, but if they need to buy all complain, and if they lose a few fights also allot complain, but thats always the same when players lose allot complain.

If you play it well with a few players or even alone if the enemy isnt nearby you can take towers or even keeps, before they can safe it.

And if you need to lvl up you can use the golems also for that with capping allot xp and rank points and event gives more magic find 50%!

The prices for golems keep dropping and the numbers on the battle field are even increasing. Most of the time you just face full zergs of omegas (50+).

OT: Dear WvW diary, my guild started a ktrain’n’kpop event in eotm. The ktrain thingy stopped after 2 hours because it was somewhat annoying…the kpop music bot is still rocking!

Now on the topic of this event specifically, yeah I’m with OP the event is just boring, I love the idea of having event’s like this that really shake up WvW for one rotation, but this event is just too simple and uncreative… All it really does is make Golem BP shoot up in price and make any type of non-golem siege or defenses just useless

Can’t even roam in WvW… Had 3 golems chase me from ogre camp > OW > SM > Duri > Brav before some people on my server seen and wiped em with me.

^3 years of stagnation where some players putted to much effort in building their cumunities in WvW, tunning their groups best they could over those ~3 years, yet anet negleted those and start making ideias of taking all the effort down to be a casual game (more than it is), this is how ic the golem event, test for how siege will work on hot, and that will take all the effort playerd had so far.

(before some one acuses me to be a pve’r again…. i am not a skritt)
What i ment by to much effort is how the game will never trully reward those guilds aka gw1 style, taking a tower a castle should be hard and important, not like a Alliance Battle shrine.

Because unlike Mike’s out of touch views, there are a lot of us who only play in WvW!!!

It’s like telling PvE players to not do PvE for a week. You are telling someone to stop playing a game totally for a week for this silly event.

There has been thousands of ideas and suggestions made over the last 3 years which would have made WvW interesting for a week.
I have yet to see a player ever suggest that double damage golems would be great for a week long event, with good reason……..

“Feedback Mega-Thread” sounds like they care about our opinion…and mega-thread always sounds like tl:dr. This is the best way to deal with unsatisfied customers.

At least Anet should have the courtesy of removing the lord buff. We literally cant rotate keeps fast enough when going in circles, I’m seeing seeing 1-2 minute timers! That’s just ridiculous! The lord buff is ruining WvW!!!

Though, it is revealing to see that in one day, they have 600 posts about this blunder.
