Gunnar's Hold vs Dzagonur vs Ring of Fire

To the RoF Charr thief wearing GWAMM title trolling [NOX] near Vale a few mins ago,
those were some nice skills with S/D, gave me and guildies a good laugh attempting to get near you!
Also great fights all round tonight, was wondering if we’d meet again RoF!

Nice to see you taking so much pride in fighting doors.
Not sure if this often looks that way but it looks like a very promising matchup
taking SMC from RoF and then deffing it against both Gunnar and RoF for half an hour or so…
In the name of my [MM]s, thank you, Dzagonur, for exciting clashes and pushes on the reset. Borderlands aren’t our usual reset target, and we learned some lessons the hard way thanks to your tutoring.
Also, thanks for the lootbags o/
It was an interesting reset. After a while in our borderland we went to dzag with a small group. Tried with a few to get a few pults up near hills. After a quick resupply returned to get 2nd pult up we met a gunnar’s zerg who just capped hills. Due to their numbers we didn’t stay to say hello.

The description sounded familiair, so i checked with a someone in the guild. He confessed the whole thing! (Seems it took pretty long too. ~ 40 minutes.)

@Judge.8754, We gave up after about 15 mins, spammed some emotes and moved along! there’s no chance we could have actually caught him!
[NOX] & [Coma] – Gunnar’s Hold.
I have had two reports and seen another instance of some people on the “Dzagonur” european server are using some kind of wall-hack to get inside Sunnyhill tower.
Prepare to climb tiers in the next few weeks Gunnar’s Hold. ’merica.

Gunnar’s Hold
Well nice fight @ our bay, and it’s still going on RoF pushed you back and killed your 3 golems, and Gunnars Hold, I hope you enjoyed it
And let’s talk about this picture below.
Someone say game crash must be related to OOM
when you read the log it’s not related to that whatsoever…
Dragon’s Tooth doesn’t need line of sight, pretty much the same as the old mesmer berserker.
On the other hand, all walls/gates are up (it’s under siege now) and we have a thief inside briar (have screenshots) – the towers been ours for over an hour and we’ve killed said thief at vale several times.
I’ve whispered the guild leader and they assure me it was an accident, and no harm done other than occupying a few defenders by not making any immediate attempt to leave until we attacked
Been a fun matchup so far, let’s not spoil it with silly accusations shall we. And yes, it has been a fun fight at bay. Shame that by the time we got more than 4 of us online to attack Bay the gate was finished :P

Urf, if that inner water gate at garrison actually contested the waypoint we might’ve stood a chance at our little ninja attack

We had spotted you and decided to only send a small group to try to keep bay.
Was a really nice fight at bay, but in the end we lost it as GH had 2/3 times our numbers but it was a very fun defence.
We knew there was about 5-6 in garrison but there was about 20 when we got door down, a lil too much for us
Bay consolation prize! Considering I started that siege a few hours ago haha… although no freaking tick for me

It was a very nice siege really, you deserve the prize! I’m just glad we didn’t lose garrison in the proces. :p
That was one of the longest defense fights I’ve been in. That was a lot of good timing on the waypoints too. The Bay defense was well over 4 hours and I was NEKKID before it was done.
Yeah.. pesky waypoints not contesting, should totally have been ours! I demand compensation

They were contested for 3 minutes at a time just like normal. We had only seconds each time to take advantage of them, but a lot of us did that.
Nope, Garrison didn’t contest once we got to the inner at all. Quite a common bug but only on that gate.

Well about those wp’s which are not contested. If you don’t hit a door/wall or the keep Lord then the keep is not contested and people can use their way point. If our way point was not contested it is only your fault
There appears to be a bit of an understanding issue here.
We were hitting the Garrison water gate, and it wasn’t contested – WHILE we were damaging the gate. Gate still up, golems still swinging. I could see it on the minimap, structure not contested. There was only a few inside when the first holes appeared allowing us to see in, and more and more appearing from the waypoint corner all the time.
It’s an old and common bug, which has often led to accusations of cheating due to garrison falling without any marker.

At the same time though the inner water gate door is never upgraded. Perhaps these are both bugs, or both working as intended. Either way, I would prefer something more predictable like upgrades and timers.
Guards that were worth a kitten or even 1c would also be appreciated.
This is a fun matchup and all, but whats with GH going so hard on Rof? Especially in your own border dzag has had your tower for 20 minutes and all you do is sit with your entire zerg in the tower infront of our spawn. Earlier aswell dzag got no attention from GH while their 1k points behind you and we got it all while being 10k points behind.
Anyway still happy with this matchup, was just wondering.
Its not personal in this instance. You guys were with [HxH] and we had no intention of letting you get a foothold. Dzag were a pug group that were all over the place so we didnt really consider them as much of a threat.
Btw awesome skirmish with you guys at quarry earlier. Didint think it was ever guna end lol.
Victrixx [xVx]
Well not letting us get a foothold certainly worked. :p
Looks like your back to our borders and letting dzag do their thing tho. =/
(edited by Krosan.2890)
Yea i dont know why that is. We are getting punished for it now though. Logically we should be hitting Dzag.
Victrixx [xVx]
Wow spend all evening defending till the point Dzag give up using tactics and golem rush with 10+ golems. Hopefully our guys grow a pair and start hitting you soon, still baffled by our obsession with ROF.
You guys at Dzag know that there is more than 1 type of siege right?
Victrixx [xVx]
Dzag give up using tactics and golem rush with 10+ golems.
And a golem rush is what, lack of imagination? A valid way, just as any other that doesn’t include exploiting game bugs.

I am more baffled by Dzago’s obsession against GH, at least in borderlands; virtually no massive Dzago attacks onto RoF bl, and technically that would give them some easier points. I mean, reset night – RoF bl all red, Dzago flipping our whole bl with a huge zerg.
i hate you dzagonur……
Don’t take it personally, Dzago, that dude even hates GH.
Its ok Dzag used a different tactic on us in EB…. They used Omega golems

As far as I was aware Anya was your leader, and how can I whisper you when I don’t know your name? Reason I whispered Anya is because I DO know their name. I’m not lying nor being immature.
However that very post came across as such in the way that you tried to turn it into an attack.
@ Yorric – we were in Dza BL the other day with your guild, you just weren’t there :P I wouldn’t say we’re focusing RoF over Dza at all. If we are it’s because we always enjoyed fighting them in the past, or because early this morning RoF bay was wooden so it was an easier target than anything in Dza BL. Once we’ve got a foodhold it makes sense to keep pushing the same zone so we can defend and attack at same time.

GH you absolute boneheads, start attacking Dzag kitten Just press B and that is where you see how many points your server is currently earning. From there you usually attack whichever server is closest to you on points, especially if that server is only 1k ahead. If you just love fighting us and don’t care on winning or losing fair enough but I think you do…or should.

Actually i lead [TaG], i created [TaG] years ago in gw1. So far i didn’t bother to save up for a commander icon, not sure i ever will. Many of us [TaG]’s got their roots in gw1 Alliance Battles. (We played with eachother as well as against each other frequently.)
For WvW matters Anya mostly leads us, for good reasons i might add.
As far as the Unfortunate wall incident. I am 100% sure it was not intentional, it isn’t our [TaG] way of doing things.

How can this baffle you? You would rather have dzag also mainly focus rof so you can both divide our map? Dzag is doing the logical thing, they focus on the server they are contending with for the number one spot.
You seem to think its logical for them to target the server that is out of contention for the number one spot, but its not.

In the higher tiers, the two stronger sides usually attack the weakest in order to gain property more easily.
Actually we felt for 6 weeks that its 2nd place that gets hit the most for obvious reasons. Its only normally different when the scores are really close.

Hey. I’ve got a question.
I came to Gunnar’s Hold yesterday after spending ~1.5-2 months on Seafarer’s Rest. Comparing these both servers don’t you think that enemies are extremly weak here? I mean… unskilled or running with some really stupid builds (like condition while having weapons for direct damage).
I’ve got no problem killing people here. Yesterday was like neverending 1 vs 3-4 killing spree. If i got one down, sure there would come replacment. The weirdest thing is I was on my ranger (considered as weak class) whole time. I’m affraid what will come to once I log d/d ele…
Well rank comes from a combination of player abilities, play times, population size and co-ordination. So being down at this level could mean a server has amazing players but very few, or lots of players and all terrible, or average players but poorly co-ordinated etc etc…
The more co-ordinated guilds/stronger players tend to flock to want victory and so move to the higher tier servers and/or band together on a server and start working together, which moves it up. It’s only natural really.
There are good guilds and players all over the ladders, they just tend to have different goals in the game. Lower tiers are less zergy but yes, skill on average would be lower also.

I think its hit or miss against every server. You will always have casuals who are specced for PvE or new guys who are specced for what looks shiny. Ive met very good players from both servers and very bad ones as well. Id say im finding it easier in this tier as its much less zergy and 1v1 etc dont get ruined with a blob running past.
Being from SFR there are a massive number of players who all talk new builds with each other etc you have great enemies to learn from as well.
Victrixx [xVx]
You spend a day in this tier, kill a few randoms, and already start calling Dzag and Rof bad players…
Its obvious you came from Seafarer’s with that attitude really.
We transfered to here due to two reasons:
1. We don’t run zergy. Without randoms in area if possible, if they are around, we simply let them die to have a challenge. Every server at T1 is all about gang-bang now. Neither server leaves town as long they don’t gather 30 people to do it. Our enemies server were literally running with almost every possible person on borderland, which means – you either fight against 40+ players or you’ve got nothing else to do.
2. Queues we’re horribly long. Some evenings even two hours and I don’t have time for that.
Yeh, parly I’m glad I see groups of skirmishers. One versus few is something I can give a try to, but the thing I’m disappointed is that I can kill most of them alone or (if not) if I make unforgivable mistake during fight, they will give me opportunity to run away.
Just wanted to get thoughts out of you. I just feel I’m facing really weak enemies (at least the ones I met so far).
You spend a day in this tier, kill a few randoms, and already start calling Dzag and Rof bad players…

Well, I’m not calling anyone ’’noob’’ just to make it clear. Neither I want to start flame war. I transfered here cause i dislike zerging and queues, but didn’t expect such huge gap between players. I used to be RoF player for the first 3 months of the game.
Just want people to leave their oppinion about enemies they are fighting with. Maybe It’s me that in last ~5h playing I met every possible worst player and it won’t happen again, right…. right?
Give it a week or so and then evaluate that, it might be true but you can’t really say that in a day of playing.
Did you get any chance at these skirmishes back in T1?
@Krosan.
Not really. But It was due to lack of existence of ones. As I said, it barelly happened to meet small group. I’m not kidding now – people were sometimes escaping even if they were tad more (let’s say 3 vs 2 or even 4 vs 2) as long they didn’t meet someone to join them. 8 vs 2… yeh, then they could give it a try. Imagine now bigger groups of 30people fighting 10 people and zerg rushing camps etc. SFR became quite similar, but well, somehow even against zergers it was winning.
I still were able to fight skirmisher’s groups for my own or in duo. Mostly with rather good result, but I feel here like it was just too fast. People running with signets only and whatever makes their armor ~1.9k were few attacks for me – ranger who hits 900 at it’s finest.
(edited by Lert.6287)
“No Comment, Part 2”
Reason I transferred to low tiers back in the first few weeks was to escape zergs as well. There are many other players/guilds that have done the same, but they are of course still the minority of the population.
I’d imagine there are also many guilds who have tried to move down for some smaller fights and found that it’s not quite as simple as that and moved back. The players with the sort of small/strong group playset usually move up to the higher servers.
You will find some of what you are looking for, but mostly your challenge will come from fighting overwhelming numbers, lower skill certainly but it can still present a challenge with the amount of dps/conditions/control they can throw around.

Dzag totally fail at logic aswell.
They are 500 points from taking over GH points wise yet they spend hours attacking the ONLY tower on GH that isn’t ticking for GH.
I really wonder where these logics come from…

There is a reason why people love to play in the low end tiers….
Casuals like me hate to work in games, follow strict guild and zerg rules/orders from self acclaimed pros or learn tactics against every possible build in 1 on 1 but enjoy 1-2 h in the evening playing a little war.
Why don’t you go back from where you came? For elite roxxors who wants to show off this tier will sure be boring. bye!
